Van Rompuy on December 10, that in 2010 he will streamline regular gatherings of EU leaders. We have to constitute a group, a club. Can this be the making of the ten toes..... very interesting.

These are the four nations that make up the ten toes and within these four nations we see all the countries that surround Israel as enemies that make up the ten toes of the EU with the fourth nation being the beast mentioned in scripture.

Four nations:

Babylonian Empire:
(Iraq) The lion represents the winged lions that guarded the royal places of Babylon.

Medo – Persian Empire:
(Iran) The ribs of the bear are part of the consuming greed that devours the first empire.

Grecian Empire:
(Greece, Turkey, Syria, Egypt) Four wings of the leopard described the swiftness of this empire that ran from 334-331BC. It wrestled world dominion from Medo-Persia. After the death of Alexander the Great the kingdom was divided into four minor kingdoms that continued as prominent factors in world politics until the Roman Empire gathered it back as one kingdom.

Roman Empire:
Iron represents the stronghold this nation had. Daniel chapter 2 mentions the iron element of this empire that it to will be divided and broken as God will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed.

Edom =southern Jordan
Ishmaelites=Arabs
Moab=central Jordan
Hagarenes=Egypt
Gebal=Lebanon
Ammon=northern Jordan
Amalek=Sinai Penninsula
Philistines=Gaza Strip
Tyre=Lebanon
Assur=Siria, Iraq

Roman Empire was a Mediterranean empire and not a European empire, but England was known as Mary's dowry in a long held tradition in traditional Catholic circles. The tradition holds that the God-head gave England to Mary, the mother of Jesus, as a gift in all perpetuity as the mother of the church. Based on that tradition the Vatican has sought to reclaim  the dowry since King Henry VIII severed the relationship between the church in England and the church of Rome in 1536. The whole ecumenical movement of the latter half of the 20th century has been stimulated by the Vatican seeking to bring back the Protestant  daughters into the fold. Western Christendom is the Anglican church that they are trying to bring back.

Dec 12, 2010 will be the start of the North American Union with Canada, America and Mexico to form the fourth union or make up the whole of the four nations (ten toes) as we have the European Union, Asian Union, African Union and soon to be the North American Union. This will allow a total one world government to be put into place for the beast to take it's place on the throne in Jerusalem. Note: Queen of England has already had an audience with the Pope being in England and this is the first time the Pope has been there since King Henry VIII in 1536.

Ms Debbie:

We can be sure that prophecy will work itself out, under the permissive hand of God, while He continues to work out His purposes. (When it comes to details in the news, it can be tricky sometimes to be definite that this or that is directly the fulfilment of this or that Scriptures - though in due course it will all be fulfilled. We ourselves look to the Lord, rather than to politics and news events.)

BTW: The pope went to England in 1982 and visited the Queen.

Take care.

Van Rompuy plans shake-up of EU summits
The new EU president, Herman Van Rompuy, is planning to shake up the regular gatherings of EU leaders to make them less formulaic so that they result in decisions that have immediate relevancy.-Speaking about future meetings of EU leaders, which he will start to chair from 2010, Mr Van Rompuy on Thursday evening (10 December) said: "We have to constitute a group, a club, that gets on, that works for the same cause, namely the European Union." He emphasized that the European Council's principle members are the heads of state and government, calling them the "hard core."

Lots of guesses on the ten toes and 10 horns.......

I see the EU lining up to fullfill Neb's dream in Daniel 2
The EU is comprised with 10 (core) nations and these kings will give power to the beast...

THE BEAST?
Perhaps the first perm. president of the EU (Tony Blair is top candidate right now)

I do not see the EU as being the fulfillment of the ten toes, because there are already more than 10 nations in the EU. However, the global government was organized around 1990 in Canada at the meeting of the G-7. You can read their minutes from the Library from the university there. They divided the world into 10 economic regions at that summit. They are 1. U.S., Canada and Mexico 2. Western Europe 3. Japan 4. Australia and new Zealand 5. Eastern Europe 6. Latin America  7. North Africa and the Middle east 8. Central Africa 9.South and south East Asia 10. Central Asia.  seven heads and ten toes. Each economic region will have a leader, ten crowns. They did not try to hide this but did it in open sight.

You could be correct.  I posted an interesting article recently that proposed the 10 toes would be 10 Muslim nations.
