The White Horse Rider of Revelation 6
« on: Wed Jul 25, 2012 - 03:02:49 »
Personally, I do not post on topics that I haven't taken to God in prayer for the right and proper understanding.  I was most surprised on all that I was given to understand about the highly debated first white horse rider of Revelation, chapter 6.  There is far more then I would care to quote chapter and verse as both the Old and New Testament has a great deal to say about this particular individual in very great detail.  Most often, scripture appears to be speaking about Christ Jesus Himself.  However there is a very great difference between this white horse rider and Christ Jesus.

Christ Jesus was always the only begotten Son of God.  Both in heaven and here upon this earth.  An eternal spiritual being, though wrapped in mortal flesh by the power of God's Holy Spirit upon His conception and birth and thoughout His mortal life.  Once again, the seed of no man, but the very seed of God, by way of God's Holy Spirit.  Thus always being just who Christ Jesus always claimed to be, the Son of God, again both in heaven and here upon this earth as well.

One and all, upon the announcement and arrival of Christ Jesus, were expecting the seed of God's promise to David.  Thus the the rightful heir to David's throne which was prophesied to last forever more.  The last person one and all were expecting was the very Son of God.  Once again, the virgin birth is proof, Christ Jesus was as He always claimed to be, that being the seed of no man, but the very Son of God.

Don't get fooled by Satan's trick that Christ Jesus must die for there to be eternal life and the forgiveness of sin.  For Christ Jesus's own personal ministry states otherwise.  For Christ Jesus was healing the sick, raising the dead, forgiving sinfulness and even speaking with Moses and Elijah which is proof of eternal life as well before His own death of His mortal flesh upon the cross.  Thus ever so much more proof that Christ Jesus was once again, the seed of no man, but the very seed and Son of God He always was and will be forever more.  To say that Christ Jesus is the seed of a mortal man, thus heir to a mortal throne, is just what Satan would have one and all believe, especially to have Christ Jesus slain upon a cross.  Once again, Christ Jesus's very own resurrection is the proof that He is not the seed of no man.  For what seed of man can raise himself back to life?

Revelation chapter 12 first speaks of this seed of promise to David by God.  Revelation 12:5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.  And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.NIV

This woman is not the virgin Mary, for in Revelation 12:17 states how Satan(dragon) went off to make war with the rest of her offspring who obey the commands of God and hold to the testimony of Christ Jesus.  Mary was a virgin, just where do these children come from and as a child, Christ Jesus was not snatched up to God in heaven?

It should be most clear that this is not the life account of the only begotten Son of God, Christ Jesus.  This is most clearly an account of a future seed of David and heir to his throne.  No wounder why it will last forever, for if soon after his birth he is snatched up to God and his throne, one must put on immortal flesh to do so.  For no mortal flesh can stand in the very presence of God.  Being that this mortal heir to the throne of David is now in heaven, just how does he return to establish his kingdom here upon this earth so as to rule over all nations of this earth?

He is indeed the first white rider of Revelation 6 as in chapter 12 of Revelation does most clearly state, 12:7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.NIV

Look and see just who has a host of heavenly angels following his lead in Revelation 6.  Michael, the seed of promise to David, who will establish his throne upon this earth forever more.  And no, this is not denoted as the archangel Michael, so it is none other then the seed of promise, the Son of David and heir to his throne that one and all were expecting as Christ Jesus appeared.  Don't be fooled again.

Once again, do as I have done and take it to God in prayer for conformation.  For the hour is most near for this time of testing and trails to come forth.  Be most prepare for the seed of David to establish his throne here upon this earth forever more.

There is a (word) picture of Christ's White Horse in the scripture, it looks something like this:

Yes, even the remnant of the flock of All of Israel.

It is in Zechariah 10:3
"...For the Lord of hosts will visit His flock,
The house of Judah,
And will make them as His royal horse in the battle."

also note:
Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly.
Job 8:7

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.   1 Cor 1:27-29

Some have interpreted the woman being with child as referring to Mary about to give birth to Jesus. They have also said that Herod is the one who was going to try to kill the child. Though it is true that Herod tried to do this, what I see is this. The child represents the birth of the new spiritual Israel composed of Jews and Gentiles:
John 16:20-21  Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 21  A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
So we may ask: If the child is referring to the new spiritual nation, how then was this man-child to rule all nations with a rod of iron? Is
this not referring exclusively to Christ? Well, let's look at who is ruling with the rod of iron:
Revelation 2:26-27  And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27  And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
"He that overcometh..to him will I give power over the nations...shall rule them with a rod of iron." This seems to be referring to the reign of Christ through His people in judging the world. Even Paul taught this:
1 Corinthians 6:2  Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Yet Christ is said to have this position:
Acts 17:31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Romans 3:6  God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

Therefore, Christ and HIS BODY who are all one IN HIM are now judging and ruling the nations with a rod of iron (the law and the Gospel used to judge:
John 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day.
Psalms 149:5-9  Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. {6} Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; {7} To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; {8} To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; {9} To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

So, that is pretty much the extent of my knowledge. I know it probably did not seem to conclusive but I will sstudy more.

Very well done, FG.
You bring Honor to the Lord by exalting His Word in your own heart.
And I think you are correct, for Christ's Body is ALL who are "in Christ", and we seek our Father's Will to be done in ALL the earth above all things, even as Jesus Christ has taught us.

sincerely,

You need to do some more 'knee-time' on this one, Saber. Revelation 12 is talking about Jesus.

You need some knee time on this one Lively. Revelation 4:1 ". . Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which MUST be hereafter. Revelation Chapter Twelve's man child is not Jesus.

There's a thought that the rider with the white horse having a bow and no arrows is the antichrist conquering promising peace and safety. He makes a covenant with many for one week in Daniel 9:27, and is in effect the time of 1 Thessalonians 5:3,  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Revelation 4 isn't what we are discussing, Larry!

Revelation 12 contains an historical summary of Israel's struggle to birth the Messiah. Jesus spoke it. John recorded it. The child is Jesus. I think many Christians make a big mistake in going too far in interpreting passages in Revelation, assigning way too much representation to some things and not enough in others.

The rider of the first white horse is satan, this is when he comes pretending to be Christ...

Revelation 6:2 "And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer."

This one who rode on the white horse had a bow, but without arrows. He had the authority, but not the strength to back up his authority. What strength that he did have, was through deception. The rider of the white horse is Satan, in the role of the Antichrist. Satan will come first as the fake Christ, the Antichrist; and he will ride and conquer the people of the entire earth.

The rider of this white horse is not the rider of the white horse who comes with a rainbow around his head, and a rainbow around the throne he leaves. This "bow" in the Greek is a cheap fabric, or imitation, In the Greek it's called "toxon".

"bow" - 5115 toxon (tox'-on); from the base of 5088; a bow (apparently as the simplest fabric): KJV-- bow.

Revelation 19:11 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."

This is the "Day of the Lord" and the one on the horse is Jesus Christ. "Faithful and true" is the name of Jesus Christ, as we will see him referred to this to the end of Revelation.

Unlike the one on the white horse who came forth when the first seal was opened in Revelation 6:1-2, this white horse carries Jesus Christ when He comes to judge and rule the earth. This white horse will carry a man of righteousness.

The other white horse carried the fake, the counterfeit, who would deceive those five foolish virgins of Matthew 25:1-13, and all who are looking for a rapture, and do not know in their minds that the first rider to come is the Antichrist. Our Lord Jesus Christ will make war on Satan, his one world system that worships him, and all false prophets that would lead God's bride to the Antichrist.

I agree with N2thelight

satan is a copier and will be copying and playing Christ. satan is the AC or "instead of Christ.

Satan rides a white horse

Christ also rides a white horse:

Rev 19:11  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

The bow, as N2thelight said, is a fake, or imitation, and it has no arrows. There is no power behind this one.

Lucifer means "morning star"

Jesus calls himself "bright and morning star":
Rev 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

satan is a copier and will be playing Christ before the true Christ comes.

KNOWLEDGE BOMB replies:

the woman IS the virgin Mary 12:1-5
from then on it is Israel during the tribulation

Lucifer means "morning star"

KNOWLEDGE BOMB replies:

1. The bow shows the antichrist comes to power NOT through violence.
2. Lucifer DOES NOT MEAN MORNING STAR - it means brightness

Your bible is the problem:  the KJV says:Is 14:12

O Lucifer SON OF THE MORNING - Jesus is the Morning star - lucifer is the son (created by word) on the morning (Jesus)...

1. Your bible either took out the word lucifer and added morning star or it says lucifer and you are mistaken on it's meaning....

It's just another way bibleshave been changed to bring in doubt and give Satan the chance to take those morning star bibles and say " see Jesus fell from heaven not me - Jesus is the morning star....

You should know when pre trib rapture Jesus is delayed (doesn't show) Satan will use this to show Jesus didn't come cause he's the fallen one...... Ofcourse that won't work on KJV bibles...

Knowledge Bomb,

It doesn't matter who gave Lucifer his name, the fact is God felt it was important enough to let us know. It clearly shows satan will be a copier of Christ. That is the point the God drives home in his word.

The AC's hour is called The Hour of Temptation:

Rev 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Just as satan tried to temp Jesus in the wilderness, with the word of God. (See how bold he is trying to temp the WORD himself with Christ's own words). Problem is, satan twisted those scriptures to turn them into lies, but most Christians don't realize that. So will satan be doing when he's here playing Christ. He'll be using scripture and sounding so holy...'just follow me". How tempting he will be to many who don't know who he is and are believing he's Christ. Satan will be just as bold with us as he was with Christ.

That is the hour of temptation...satan playing the role of Jesus (he looks like the lamb but speaks as the dragon [Rev]), and the whole world worshipping him. We are talking idolatry here. We are to worship the Lord our God, not the devil. Many will believe satan and find him very tempting. The rest though, he will be an abomination, knowing full well who he is.

The danger at that time is deception. We are talking about souls here, not flesh bodies. Satan is after our souls, not the flesh.

When Christ tells us if one says Christ is here, or there, believe them not. What does that mean? It means someone will be playing, pretending to be Christ on the world scene, for we know the whole world will wonder after the fake and the fake will be performing signs and wonders, making lightning come down from heaven. satan will be here defacto, in his supernatural body with supernatural abilities.

Rev 3:10 is about Gods wrath NOT the Antichrist....

So according to me:

we should see the gathering together happen just before Gods wrath happens..

According to me...

Matt 24:29 (sixth seal of Rev 6:12-13) sun darkens stars fall havens shaken (earthquake)
24:30 Jesus comes on clouds to gather us

Mark 13:24-25 stars sun earthquake
13:26 Jesus coming on the clouds

Luke 21:25-26 sun moon stars earthquake (mens hearts fail them (rev 6:15-16)
21:27 Jesus coming on the clouds

Rev 6:12-13 sun moon stars  earthquakes

14 the sky rolls back to reveal the Father and the Son (Matt 26:64)
15-16 and men hearts will fail them and they want to hide from God
17 for the day of wrath has come (doesn't start till 8:7)

Then we see the angels (mentioned in Mark 13:27)

1. Still the wind (7:1-2)
2. Seal the 144,000(7:3-8)
3. gathering has happened as this is first mention of saint in heaven.(7:8)

then after talking about heaven (10-17)
8:1 silence in heaven cause god is going to pour out his wrath (8:7)

so we are not appointed to wrath (as we see)

and we are kept from the hour of Gods wrath not Antichrist

the Antichrist has already been ruling as he appears in rev 6:2

the hour of Gods wrath gives some the chance to repent but we see they do not.

(Rev 9:20 :21 16:9 :11)

KNOWLEDGE BOMB replies:

You have some things mixed up

There's Satan (as the dragon) rev 12:3
7heads
10 horns
7 crowns

then there's the Antichrist (rev 13:1) gets power from dragon (13:4)
7 heads
10 horns
10 crowns

then there is the false prophet (rev 13:11)
2 horns but speaks as a dragon (shows he appears Christian but isn't)

Rev 16:13

and 3 spirits come out of
1. Dragon
2. Antichrist
3. False prophet

Satan is NOT the beast with 2 horns.

KNOWLEDGE BOMB replies:

it does matter Teri.... You can't use lucifer as the devils attempt at
copying Jesus if Jesus gave him the name

And lucifer does NOT mean morning star- bible like the NIV have changed it.

Lucifer means clear or to shine - Strongs 1966 refer to 1984 - those at strongs felt it necessary to ADD morning star as their OWN addition....(1966)

Strongs will also tell you when you look for the word lucifer that he was a babylonian king.

But kings don't fall from heaven (Is 14:12) but strongs doesn't know that....

This is one of the seven crowns that Satan wears to go with the 7 empires

12:3 - 7 crowns
17:10 are the 7 crowns with one being Babylon. (5 are fallen)

You should Never go by footnotes or add on's

Morning star meaning lucifer is a prime example..

Mark my words Is 14:12 will be used one day to show Jesus fell from
heaven and is the one going to Hell - not Satan....

Ofcourse the KJV doesn't say such things.....

Knowledge Bomb,

Lucifer, in the Hebrew manuscripts it reads: hêylêl

And it means:

(in the sense of brightness); the morning star: - lucifer.

satan is a copier of Jesus:
Rev 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Bullinger's note concerning the name "Lucifer":

Lucifer = Morning-star. Worshipped by the Assyrians as male at sunrise, female at sunset. A name of Satan.

Sorry, Lucifer does mean "morning star".

Satan will be here (AC) playing God and the whole world will wonder after him, worship him, except those who know who he is.

You want to wonder why God will be so angry? How do you think God will feel, seeing his virgin bride whoring after satan. We are to remain virgins. You're not a virgin (spiritually) anymore, if when our Lord returns he finds you worshipping satan. This is the great apostasy, the falling away. Think on the 5 foolish virgins (Christians) who didn't have enough oil (truth) in their lamps.

That is the hour of temptation. Many will find satan tempting, believing he is Christ.

satan is the antichrist, or "instead of Christ".

The rider on the white horse cannot be Jesus, that is certain.  Jesus comes on a white horse, true, but He has a garment dipped in blood with a name on His thigh: King of kings and Lord of lords.  He has no bow.  The white horse rider comes to conquer.  Jesus has already conquered.  The rider on the white horse has a BOW, no mention of an arrow.  satan is a pretender! And I believe it is he who comes on the horse to conquer.  Daniel 7 tells us we will be given into his hand for 3.5 years.   So much for the pre-trib rapture!

What I really want to put out here is who is that which "letteth" in 2 Thes 2:7?

Greetings Tessiwebb!

Concerning "Letteth", this is what I've found from my studies:

2Th 2:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

"Letteth" in the Greek is:

κατέχω
katechō

to hold down (fast), in various applications (literally or figuratively): - have, hold (fast), keep (in memory), let, X make toward, possess, retain, seize on, stay, take, withhold.

Rev 12 speaks of Michael being the one who boots satan and his angels out of heaven and down to earth. (I believe, when this happens, many will think it is Christ coming with the saints, which is what satan will want the people to think, for satan will be copying Christ)

So, I do believe the one who "letteth" is Michael the arch angel.

Here are Bullinger's notes on that verse:

letteth = holds fast. Greek. katecho, as 2Th_2:6. Supply the Ellipsis by "there is one who holds fast", instead of by repeating the verb "will let". But katecho is a transitive verb, and an object must be supplied too. See all the occurances: 2Th_2:6. If the subject be Satan, the object must be his position in the heavenlies (Eph_6:12), from which he will be ejected by Michael (Rev_12:7-9).

"out of the way", in the Greek should read "out of the midst"

"out of" = ek- denoting orgin

"way" =μέσος
mesos
-  middle (as adjective or [neuter] noun): - among, X before them, between, + forth, mid [-day, -night], midst, way.

The Companion Bible (Bullinger) reads that verse as:
2Th 2:7 For the secret of lawlessness doth already work actively: only now there is one who holds [Satan] fast until he is ejected by Michael out of the midst of the heavenlies.

No, no - Michael didn't (doesn't) "boot Satan out of heaven.  LISTEN to the Scriptures.
Michael takes away Satans PLACE, and there is no more place found for Satan in heaven.
Compare that to Pauls exhortation to make no provision for the flesh...

[edited]
It is believers who make the place for him who are ignorant (willfully so) and deceived, and deluded by lies, which they tell all the time by not checking their statements and assumptions against the Word of God before believing them and stating them to others.  Christians should all become like the Bereans - searching the Scriptures before daring to teach others.  A "more noble" character is necessary than what we see today in modern Churchianity!

Tessiewebb, I just want to throw this out for consideration.

Gen_9:13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Rev_1:7  Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

The bow in Genesis is a rainbow in the clouds. Jesus is that rainbow. Jesus is the token, or tangible evidence, of the covenant between God and the earth. The bow in Gen_9:13 is set in the midst of the clouds... Jesus is coming with the clouds. Again in Rev 10, Jesus is clothed with a cloud and a rainbow was on his head.

Rev 10:1  And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
Rev 10:2  And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

Joseph, Jacob's son was a shadow of Christ. Look at this verse, this is really neat.

Gen 37:23  And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;
Gen 37:24  And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

Can you see the parallel between Joseph and Jesus? When Jesus came to his brethern the Jews at the first coming, they stript Jesus of his coat... his body, when they killed him. After Jesus was killed by his brethren, he descended to the pit (hell) and ministered to the saints.

Here again we see in Ezekiel the symbolism of the rainbow.

Eze 17:2  Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
Eze 17:3  And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
Eze 17:4  He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.
Eze 17:5  He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.
Eze 17:6  And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
Eze 17:7  There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.

This is a prophecy of the first coming of Christ. The eagle which had the feathers of "divers colours"... the rainbow, came and took the "seed" from the Jews and planting the  "seed" of that land by "great waters"... the seed is the church. The church became a "spreading vine" whose roots were under the "great eagle"... Jesus Christ. Notice in verse 7, the spreading vine (the church) bent her roots toward another eagle.  This eagle was a great eagle with great wings, just like the first one, but this eagle DOES NOT have feathers of "diverse colours"... the symbolism of the rainbow. This eagle is not Jesus Christ, it is Antichrist. The Antichrist is not identified with a bow anywhere in scripture that I know of.

Again, this is for you to consider, I am just showing you that here is a very powerful argument that the rider of the white horse is Jesus. Also there is no mention of arrows in that verse because the bow is not an archers bow, it is the Rainbow, the token of God's covenant.
