I think it is a US thing. Europeans seem to be far better in accepting that different people have different opinions.
I have never seen a bigger divide in US society as today. You are either pro-Trump or anti-Trump and must defend your position aggressively as the other side is willing to bash your head in.
Families split and friendships are ended because one picked the "wrong" side.

Unfortunately you are in a tough spot because you are not allowed to say anything about Trump, but the other way around there is no limitation to what Trump supporters may say about your leadership.

As I said it's a US thing. I think Americans find it difficult to keep opinion and acceptance separated.

You may be right.  I have had to read attacks here on Theresa May and the royal family many times for no good reason.  Sometimes from people who just like to attack anything British/female, or because I dared to say that I wasn't madly keen on Trump as a leader.  That's why I no longer read some peoples posts or go on the political section.  My opinion on Trump has always been that he was slightly better than the alternative, but I found it hard to think that there weren't 2 people in the whole of the USA who weren't far more suited to lead the country than these two. Pence would have been far better in my opinion.

I do see that Trump is almost worshipped by many there, even some on this forum, and that is something we don't usually see here. People here are far more likely to moan about their leaders and blame them for everything than worship them in that sort of way.

I agree that some people there hate anything negative said about Trump, and will react with fury against it, but surely recognising that he has done so many stupid and immoral things isn't wrong? Its fact after all. We have to live in the real world and not in denial.

I think it is more a thing about foreigners thinking they are superior to Americans. It’s OK to join in condemning the dolt Trump, but don’t EVEN think about speaking badly of my leader. That would be brutish! Just my observation.
That's just not the case.

Thank you.   And, you are right.  A lot of good people have left and I know that they have left because of the political forum.

There were some who left due to general bad treatment in other parts of the forums.

That's just not the case.

No, it IS the case. I have seen you unilaterally post something negative about Trump, which is your right, but when someone challenged May's abortion stance in response, you accused that as an attack on your country's leader. And played the rude card again. Their challenge was NOT rude. Nor was your criticism of Trump, but it's not OK to criticize Trump and then be appalled when someone criticizes your leader.

I know two people who left because of someone we know who has had a cofc bashing fetish. I'm thick skinned enough to let it roll off. Some are not. This ain't a one sided problem.

And no Trump is not worshipped in this country or this forum. Highly respected yes. Our respect viewed throw the eyes of one with disdain probably appears as worship in comparison to disdain, but no that accusation is totally false and unfair. Even some of Obama’s tingle down the leg folks was not worship in the sense you mean.

As I said before I see Trump as better than the alternative.  Theresa Mays attempts to reduce the abortion limit were commendable, I believe on that occasion I was talking about the fact that Trump has given several women money to kill their own child after his affairs, which is appalling no matter who did it. Surely anyone with any compassion for the unborn child would see that as wrong.
A few people here have attacked the Uk many times merely because they hate the UK, others have noticed this and pointed it out, and also because they hate women in general.

BTW I am never appalled at what some here do, I expect that sort of silly immature behaviour which is why I no longer read their posts.

I have zero problem with you Chosen if you would minimize playing the rude card. Rudeness is FAR too subjective to be used often. Is there a case to use it? Yes, but I think you have over played it. I don’t want to argue about it. Just my observation.

Oh, Teresa May and the royal family totally deserve to be attacked. Both May and the family seem to be quite capable of making a mess out of things.
Not your queen though, she's a tough lady...I bet you her balls are bigger than Ginger Rella's

And yeah, I totally agree with you on the Trump comment.
328 Million US citizens...and Trump is what they came up with.
Then again 66 Million UK citizens came up with Teresa May. Not the most shiny example of effective leadership.

Jaime:

As one who grew up with Restoration Churches, their teaching and their Bible colleges, I have a right to state what I think.   I told them in Bible college where I felt they were wrong.  Still had 4.0 GPA after 2 1/2 years.  They respected me. I would suppose I have a larger library of books about the Restoration Movement than anyone else who posts here.   It seems to be alright to bash Calvinists or those who don't believe in Evolution.  A few days ago I posted about the Gospel and used Paul's writings as my source and I was promptly told that what I believed was CRAP!!!   The mods here ought to be more upset over that vs. water baptism, which cannot save and never will save.   I know Restorationists who poke fun at sitting vs. standing and one cup vs. individual.  You that's silly stuff.

I have been called an Abortionist by Texas Conservative, over and over and over again.   I begged the mods to do something.

Chosenone is not just a female but is a lady and she does not use foul-mouthed language here.    You should have no quarrel with her but should be glad she is here, unless you just don't like women who are ladies and can speak without using vulgarities.

Your Homie Hank Linderman, who you touted is pro-choice.  You like tons of Dems posts on your Twitter.  You seem awfully fond of Pete Buttigeig.  Spare me your hypocrital lying liberal nonsense.

As far as chosenone, I would love to see her back up her pet doctrines with scripture.

NR, I am happy for your 4.0 GPA and yes you have every right to state what you think. What I think is you are definitely obsessed with the cofc. There ain't many here who are cofc so it is kind of a puzzle when you go off on that group. I have told you I disagree with much of what the conservative cofc teaches. I go to a progressive cofc, who is cast out of the family of conservative cofc at large. I disagree with Red Baker on nearly everything, but we get along well and respectful. I know I could get along with you, but doubt it would be possible.

I agree Chosenone IS a lady. I disagree with her on her many rudeness charges. As I said rudeness is far too subjective. I consider you rude on occasion and I know you do me as well.

An abortionist is one who performs abortions. I personally am confused by your stance on abortion and with the people you support. Do you perform abortions? I'm sure you don't.

I as well have been told that what I believe is crap. What's the big deal? I stay out of the evolution threads because I can't compete with their circular reasoning.

I agree with you on evolution (surprise). I think Calvinist are way off. You think I am way off. What else is new.

I hope you hear what I am saying next. You CAN get along with people here.  Sometimes a little jab is just that. I get those all the time here. I recognize the difference. I think you get WAY too upset over stuff. Everybody here are pretty good folks. Even the two women here you dislike. I don't like you much right now, but I think you have some good things to say. You are never going to go unanswered here when you jab at Trump. If it becomes uncomfortable to jab at Obama or Hillary here, I will have no problem leaving. We are all preaching to the choir in our heads.
If the makeup of the choir changes, I'm gone with no regrets.

I can get along with anyone, or I can be the biggest you know what in the place.

I do know life is too short for the continuation of whatever angry history you and a couple of women may have. There is definitely something going on or has gone on in the past with you and those two women beyon vulgar language. I would suggest for YOUR sanity that gets resolved hopefully outside the public forum bere. I am not taking sides, and I know no details, but a blind person could see there is something not right. I do not want to know the details, but I am one suffering with the rest of the board over it.

You will not find one post where I called you an "abortionist."

Please prove your accusation, or kindly be quiet.

Believe me she is 1000 times better than the alternative who is a Marxist. I am so glad to have a leader who has a strong faith and strong moral values, that is very rare in this country

Except she is not what you assert and has tweeted pro-choice/pro-abort rhetoric.

The only thing I have to add is that size does matter quite a bit when you are crossing a barbed wire fence.
