Letting my "Walk" be my "Talk".
« on: Sun Feb 17, 2013 - 15:41:47 »
I'm quiet by nature and don't have a lot to say usually. So "talking the talk" does not work for me. By that I mean, I'm not the one who is going to do a lot of talking trying to get someone to change or to follow Christ. I can attract others by living it and showing others that this thing is real simply by the change that has taken place in my life in the last 8 years. If others have questions for me, I will be happy to talk with them and tell them what God can do for them. Otherwise, I go about my business and do the best I can do living this life.

I'm looking for ways to reach others this summer. I have an armwrestling fund raiser planned for this spring to raise money for our Childern's Ministry and to tell others about what Christ can do in their life's. I'm also thinking about setting up booths at Car and Biker shows to past out tracts and witness to others.

Anyone have any other idea's that may be effective?

Thanks.

I love this!  Your testimony lives out this admonition of God perfectly!  ::smile::

1 Thessalonians 4:11 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,

I think these sound like wonderful ideas!  ::clappingoverhead:: God must be so pleased that you are willing to step outside of your comfort zone for His glory!  May He richly honor your efforts in this!

The only idea I have to add is to pray that God give you the eyes to see opportunities placed before you and the courage to speak out what is on your heart, not just at those big functions, but in going about your everyday life.

God bless!  ::smile::

Thanks Me Myself,

Seeing opportunities and acting on them will be a challenge for me, mostly when it comes to speaking out. This is good stuff. Thanks.

Dave a great post. Many of us are not called to dramatic ministries, but to be the best friends, wives, husbands, parents, neighbours or whatever that we can be, while getting on with what we have to do.

Chosenone,

Wow! I had no idea. These are just things that I have been involved in for years and God has been pressing me to minister in those areas. I have just had reservations about jumping in because, well, I'm just not the type of person to push a ministry. But if God is pressing me to it, I guess he'll he'll take care of it. Thanks, both of you, for the encouragement.
