The Cell Church
« on: Tue Oct 18, 2016 - 17:33:56 »
Is there anyone here that is familiar with the Cell Church? It is not the same as a church with cells. It is a system that meets in cell groups through the week and then will meet together corporately for the weekly worship service. Ministry is done though the cells, such as discipleship, evangelism, follow-up on new converts, etc. If you are in a cell church, or are the pastor of a cell church, could you share with me how it is working for you.

Thanks, Gary

Cell groups sounds like a strategy for churches that lack classroom space for Sunday School, like some mega-churches or strip mall churches with a large space for worship but little space for classrooms.

The reformed church in my area has cell groups that meet in homes. This is a gathering to study the Bible more in depth. Has nothing to do with the church lacking space.

It works quite well and serves as a good addition to the weekly Bible study on Wednesday nights at the church. As long as the person who leads the cell group has the ability to teach the Bible.

The only thing I do not care for is when they use books other than just the Bible. I really don't see a need for that.
