PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a speech tonight, Joe Biden condemned fascism and extremism while also debuting a delightful little mustachioed look.

Reporters oohed and aahed over his fashionable new facial hair look as the president ranted about people he disagrees with needing to be condemned as terrorists in order to fight fascism.

"It's a good look for him," said an Entertainment Tonight reporter on the red carpet. "I know they say don't wear that kind of mustache before Labor Day, but I really think he pulls that off. It's kind of a classic look - vaguely European, perhaps 1930s or '40s Germanic, maybe? - really inspired."

And the parts that I saw.... intermitently on Fox.... were pure horror.

It put me in mind when back in the late 30s my grandfather was working a Union job and one day the union people came to the house to talk to him.

He had been a republican but they told him in no uncertain worrds he would vote DEM. So forcefully he was shaking when they left.

My mom... a wee girl then was taken into the basement area and hidden behind the furnace because her mom knew what was going to happen when she saw the men.

That was what came to mind last night.

I am sure some after hearing the worst highlights will vote so the Dems keep the house.

My grandfather had to vote Dem simply cause they would take the paper ballots and put them in the box and they would be able to tell who... based on the count... did not vote "right".

I did not sit and listen to every word from Joe's mouth but of those that I heard and those that wee relayed by closed captioning
I saw that entire spectacle as the personification of what my 9th grade PA History teacher and 11th grade  teacher... who were both the same would do.

So often... perhaps weekly... it seemed so back then she would send us of on a Thursday and tell us to read such and such a chapter in our text books.... followed by " A word to the wise is sufficient". Then when we came in on Fridays after that she would be passing out papers for a pop quiz on what we were told to read.

So many complained they never knew there would be a test and had not done the reading as instructed.

I could not understand... especially by the end of the first semester.... how they did not understand that "A word to the wise was sufficient" meant test the next day.

I got the distinct feeling that Biden's speech was his word to the wise.

And there is nothing we can do to avoid what is coming from them.

My question is this.

If we end up in a real civil war... has any that have been done elsewhere defeated a dictator... because that is how he is starting to come across?

Baiting conservatives into widespread violence IS their plan. It’s a very poor and divisive plan for sure. But it’s basically all the left has. They know they can’t win the hearts and minds this way, but the end justifies the means for those with no good ideas, but a lust for power. Just remember it will get weirder and weirder in the next two months up to the election. I believe the Left is in a pickle and desperate people do desperate things.
