I did not sit and listen to every word from Joe's mouth but of those that I heard and those that wee relayed by closed captioning
I saw that entire spectacle as the personification of what my 9th grade PA History teacher and 11th grade teacher... who were both the same would do.
So often... perhaps weekly... it seemed so back then she would send us of on a Thursday and tell us to read such and such a chapter in our text books.... followed by " A word to the wise is sufficient". Then when we came in on Fridays after that she would be passing out papers for a pop quiz on what we were told to read.
So many complained they never knew there would be a test and had not done the reading as instructed.
I could not understand... especially by the end of the first semester.... how they did not understand that "A word to the wise was sufficient" meant test the next day.

I got the distinct feeling that Biden's speech was his word to the wise.
And there is nothing we can do to avoid what is coming from them.
