How many years did Jacob work for Laban?

Last night at Bible study, the Pastor said that Jacob worked for Laban for 21 years.

I have read it to only say 14 years. He's taking into account that he worked the original 7, then was deceived, then agreed to work for another 7 years for Rachel. Then the passage says that jacob did so (I'm paraphrasing) and did his week long marriage to Leah and later on says that he worked astill another 7 years.

Here is the whole passage I'm speaking of:

"Now Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.

I understand how this might puzzle you. But actually Jacob served Laban for 20 years. You will find this in Genesis 31:38-41.
