Mike Murdock
« on: June 06, 2010, 10:10:28 AM »
I posted this after watching him on TV. Deleted my comment made in anger, shouldn't have. God will decide his fate.

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/mike_murdock.htm

Mike Murdock is a shyster and an imposter!  I couldn't believe what this guy was saying on TV today when I listened to him.  He was spewing out blasphemies against God by claiming that God wanted to create 300 MILLIONAIRES through his ministry.  The catch? ... you MUST send a "seed" (as he calls it) of at least $1,000 to his ministry.  You've got to be kidding Mike?  Murdock calls the donation to his ministry "a seed of obedience."  Obedience?  Obedience to whom?  Why not give the money to a local church?  Why does the money have to go to MURDOCK'S MINISTRY?  Sadly, many people are foolish and gullible enough to send him a thousand dollars.  He actually tells his listeners to call in and say, "I'm one of the FUTURE millionaires that Dr. Murdock talked about who will sow the $1,000 seed."  This is so sickening.  Murdock kept saying, "I feel so stirred about this business."  Yeah, I'll bet, money does stir most people.  Murdock dares to call himself a "man of God"; but he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Just as evil Balaam, Murdock is greedy of gain.

Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

I knew Mike when he had his humble beginnings in Texas many years ago and when he first started teaching the word. He was truly on fire for the Lord, but self and greed got in his way like it does many who had humble beginnings and we need to keep them all in prayer that the Holy Spirit would seep back into their hearts and humble their spirit once again before it's to late for them. Satan is very clever and sneaks into any crack he can enter in a person when that person loses sight of what is more important to the Lord.

Satan has many false prophets and teachers out there and this is why it is so important to learn to discern what spirits are speaking to us, 1John 4: 1-8, as we will all stand individually before the Lord to give account for our actions here on earth.

I don’t believe in a literal Hell where soul’s will be tormented for eternity. But if did exist, I think those like Mike Murdock should have a special place reserved for them.

BTW  ::smile:: -There are over 162 references in the New Testament that warn of Hell,
over 70 of these references are attributed to Jesus..... Death and Hell shall be thrown into the Lake of Fire....

As to individuals such as this one,

each seem quite the candidate for placement there...

BUT -

so am I and each of us.

For each of us is made of the VERY same flesh and blood as he....

Each of us can be found with  the same  capacity for ANY evil found on earth...

for we all have descended from the same lineage of Adam and born with the sinful nature.

I must say that it is easy for me to point a finger....

but then I remember my own sin would place me at his side in the lake of fire

if NOT for the grace and mercy of God alone.

So,

as easy as it is for us to pass judgment on such things,

let us be even more quick to pray for such,

for without one to stand in the gap, God's judgment is sure and will come....

and it could be on me as well ::lookaround::

better to sow mercy and reap it's harvest  ::nodding::

Mike is a charlitan. I have briefly seen him on God tv here in the uk twice, and all I could take was about I minute of his rubbish, I was appalled. He goes on about all the expensive cars and expensive watches that he has and my spirit just cringed inside. Ugh. God tv sadly bring him in when they need more money, and another guy as well who is similar, and guess what, they are still constantly besetted with money problems. sad. When they start relying on God alone to bring in the money instead of these awful  guys then they will get what they need.
I cant believe that people actually fall for these guys nonsense and send money in. People are so gullible, cant they see through these scams?.

That really gave me a belly laugh, thanx.

Debbie  - You knew him a longtime ago? Wow.
I believe that he must have been on fire.

I often wonder if I'd be a millioaire according to Dr. Murdock if I charged the
 $1000 on my credit card,
but sent it to help dig a water well in a village in Africa?

I don't listen to any of his "seed" talk. Well, unless he's talking about if you
spend time with your son - that's a "seed" of love, things like that.
But, he sure is clear on everything else.
That guy has alot of wisdom ---he just slips up on the "give me your money" thing.

He very well could be (and it appears so) a money-changer as he is endeavoring to make money thru the most vulnerable among believers.....and a wolf....however, his sin is no worse then yours or mine, as water states, and I think we have to remember that whenever we point the finger.

Also the website puts all Catholics in one group saying they are unsaved...and people who struggle with homosexuality 'allowing'? them to parade down the street? What, now we chain sinners up or treat them ill instead of introducing them to the Great Physician who can heal them?? Then we would be just as bad as this guy appears to be. (((By the way, I am not saying we should not confront him or call him on the carpet, but lets make sure it is done without hurting others...or without making sure we know that we are looking thru eyes with logs in them)))

Thanks water for that reminder...to be like Christ as we deal with sin....

ela/water----

We are all sinners, that's for sure.  But the Bible seems to deem a greater guilt for false teachers and a special judgment upon them.  As 2 Peter 2 says:

"They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—who spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.

These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them".
(2 Peter 2:13-17)

When I listen to men like Mike Murdoch and Peter Popoff (with his "miracle water") I shudder when I think of the judgment awaiting them, unless they repent. They are purposefully "fleecing" the children of God, and that is a horrible crime in the eyes of God.

Subtle.  I said don't bother. ::smile::

Let me know if you have any real life experience to share that is germane to the topic.

Don't know if I'd call this Germane, English, as pertaining to, or off the wall.

1 Corinthians 1:21. "It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."

Many preachers today say that they're going to reach the world with the gospel if I'll only support their ministry, especially with seed faith money. Then and only then will God be able to accomplish reaching the world with the gospel, and I'll get rich in the process. This reasoning reminds me of a portion of 1 Timothy 6:5, where "Men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, suppose that gain is godliness." We're told to withdraw ourselves from them. They insinuate that if I don't get rich or experience deliverance and healing from everything, it'll probably be my fault due to a lack of faith on my part, etc. I wonder if they'll give back my seed faith offering if it doesn't work for me.

You just never know about these things.  ::pondering::

You're "Okay" response seemed to be sarcastic.  Did I misread. Maybe you should be more explicit.

I was just replying with the okay in humor to someone who seemed to need no answer.

I cannot personally ever remember seeing or hearing Mike Murdock, and so cannot attest to the credibility of claims for or against him, nor will I lay an accusation to him; that's between him and the Lord.

I have heard enough be prosperous and get rich preaching to know that when it speaks of other than prospering us as our soul prospers in the things of God, it appeals many times to the person not really wanting a separated life unto Christ.

Legalism is actually the culprit that leads to such teachings. It's comforting to know all do not suffer the consequence of such schemes, and if God has profited you or me, it is not by our good guy deserving anything reward.

You seemingly think I believe I have evolved beyond sinner status; I only wish that were true in actuality to go with the righteousness applied to our lives by believing on Christ alone. It is not by our works we are saved, blessed, or anything else; it is by grace alone and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God.

My thoughts.
