WHITE PLAINS, KY—Reports coming out of United Presbyterian Church are confirming that the church’s energy-saving, motion-activated lights switched off partway through its 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The lights, recently installed as a cost-saving measure, were designed to turn off after fifteen minutes of inactivity in the building, ensuring the church wouldn’t draw any unnecessary power when the building wasn’t in use.

But church leaders didn’t anticipate the plan backfiring, as both the reverend and the congregants remained so still during opening hymns and the first part of the message that the lights turned off, leaving everyone in partial darkness.

At first glance, I thought you wrote "moron-activated lights", and were citing the Babylon Bee.

Quite amusing!  Not exactly a vibrant Spirit-led church then - no enthusiastic waving around of arms or dancing in the aisles!  ::sleepingsoundly::

@ Texas Coservative

@Rella

Yes????

Well, knowing better now to check I did and your "bee" does come up with the subjects...

However... I shall rebutt...

That is because it was a Presbyterian Church USA and not an Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

The difference being

The first is an all inclusive liberal mockery that God punishes with large electric bills they have a difficult time paying with their decreasing congregations.

The second has no need for electricity from all the light radiating from their halos.  ::tippinghat::

All conservative churches have a hot tub just behind the pulpit.

You speak from personal experience?

Those of us who meet in a basement of a competing church (Episcopal) do not have that luxury. We only have the sauna
in the cloakroom.

OH... sorry.... I forgot.... generation thing... Clokeroom is Coat room for you youngsters

TC may well not be far from the truth here.

Last year ( 2018) when we were being interviewed for immersion baptism by a local c of C , after having been tossed their direction by another c of C.... he was telling us about how going to a meeting with others and a young man, similar to the Eunuch was being taught and ministered to while in route to where ever they were going.

It was during the drive there that they were passing a lake and this young man wanted baptised right then and there.

Someone volunteered to go into the water with him. And it was a cold night and the water very cold. But they did it.

And the young fellow was baptised and very happy.

But the fellow interviewing us was very quick to point out that their baptisms , at the church, are done in warm water, for which he is very grateful.

So....... TC seemingly may be right ::whistle::
