It was a farce to begin with.  As soon as they "flattened the curve" which came with weeks of the first lockdowns, they changed the narrative to other things, "Stop the Spread" and "Til We Are Safe."

Fauchi’s scam was perhaps the biggest scam on mankind in history, if not the costliest by far. I really hate that Trump was bamboozled by Fauchi and the cheer meisters on the left. But hey Russia collision failed and the impeachment failed. They weren’t about to let this opportunity go by.

I laugh my butt off everytime Pelosi or Biden, etal are on TV now, they make sure they are wearing a mask or have it hanging on their neck, even in matching colors to plastic face Pelosi’s wardrobe. For weeks during the height of this toilet paper pandemic the political leadership clowns on the left were never seen on TV with a mask. Only recently when it was politically expedient..... or so they surmised. But alas, this too shall fall short along with the drummed up civil unrest. Incredible I must say. Even liberal governors relaxed social distancing for the protestors, while everyone else toed the fascist’s ridiculous lockdown restrictions.

Again, if this is not proven to be the joke of the mellenium, I will eat my hat. And if it proves successful in defeating Trump, consider the cost to the country for the culmination of a balls to the wall, soon to be 4 year long coup attemp against the POTUS.

I hate it, too, Jaime.  ::cryingtears::

He listened to the "expert scientists" who took him (and the world) for a ride like no other. smh

However, we must remember that Trump didn't lock us down - it was the governors and mayors. Trump locked down travelers coming into the country, but the local politicians locked us in our homes. OTOH, it certainly didn't help that Trump had Fauci paraded around in front of the cameras for his daily reminders of how the boogyman virus was going to jump around the corner and kill us all.

Speaking of the world - this massive, global protest about George Floyd? I'm starting to think this global response has nothing to do with George Floyd and a lot to do with people who have gone bonkers from being locked in their homes for months. When the lockdown first started, some "expert" was on tv saying you can only lock down the population for about 3-4 weeks before experiencing widespread societal collapse - including rioting, looting, and killing. Looks like that expert was right. Wish I could remember where I saw that interview and find it again. I think George Floyd's death is not that important to people around the globe, but he's a good excuse to break free and go crazy in the streets. The global protests and rioting probably have little to do with Floyd and police and a lot to do with the oppressors who locked us down.

I’m hoping the NFL’s groveling to the protestors and rioters finally convinces the vast majority to  give the NFL the Popular disdain they so deserve. This commissioner is a real piece of work.

I think we started out on the right tracks but governments fearing the "what if" factor responded with extended lockdowns and emergency protocols that weren't needed beyond the first month or so. In order to continue with these protocols is was absolutely necessary to strike fear into the general public in order to prevent protests over government actions. Well done, a good portion of the public are still hiding under their beds.  ::hiding::

Right as all of this was starting to go down, I saw someone on tv say you have to take people just a hair shy of the panic point to get them to comply to public health warnings, but just one hair more sends them into either paralyzing fear or panic - and that most public health officials and politicians aren't well suited in manipulating the public to the exact point of action without excessive fear and panic. (Hope this makes sense - I'm in a brain fog this morning)
That happened - to a lesser degree - with the AIDS/HIV fear/panic in the early 80s.

My elderly parents finally came out. My mom cracked a tooth and had to go to an oral surgeon last week. That broke the ice for them. Once they got out, there's no going back. They even met me and my grandson's girlfriend for lunch on Saturday at a local restaurant. It felt like an eternity since we had been out like that.

CDC policy change on masks is about fear in my opinion.  They know they went to far, so they gave people a placebo.  The experts say it is to protect others, but those who still wear masks when almost no one is, legitimately think they are protecting themselves.

You are being normal in OK. We are supposed to be in our most open phase now, but even though restaurants can open with 50% occupation most are not.

I feel no different then when we were on lockdown cause still the masks, gloves and social distancing.

they announce the first of the counties that had gone into the third phase of green
about a month back are starting the count upward with positive cases,again...and this is
after flattening, and still wearing masks and distancing and such.

The most interesting part is the allowance of concerts to go forward.

But a maximum of 250 people in the crowd????????????????

This includes, but is not limited to, a concert, festival, fair, conference

And no idea if it will ever lift because if it keeps coming back then periodic lock downs will be the norm.

Rella, at this point, I'm just trying to behave as I would during any serious flu season-

Take vitamins.
Wash hands a lot and try not to touch my face.
Rinse my nose with plain saline solution after going out in public.
Avoid really crowded places - busy stores, really crowded restaurants, concerts, etc.

I so know what you mean about the reminders when we go out - with the gloves, masks, etc. However, here in OK, there's not much of that, but when I do it is, ugh.

Here is what I am currently doing differently than normal:

Not shopping for last minute things.  Because it is a pain.  I don't want to wear a mask so I limit trips.

Other than that, no changes.  Went to church yesterday in person.  Have shook people's hands, etc.

Agreed... Me to on the trip limiting.

Still doing as much drive through as possible so I do not need to do the mask thing.

Have shaken no ones hand but have been given a hug or two.
Had workers working in the house for a week or so and they were not wearing masks...

The expert scientists have changed the facts on coronavirus, again-

They're now saying asymptomatic spread of coronavirus is rare. This is after they told us for months that asymptomatic spread was practically the norm and people without symptoms who went out and about were spreading it to grandmas and killing them.

Oh, and also the experts are saying the virus was here earlier than they thought-

The "experts" don't know their butts from a hole in the ground.

Worthless bungholes. If NASA operated with the same margin of error as Fauchi and his band of ne’er do wells, they would have never gotten out of the atmosphere much less walked on the moon. Most SWAGs (Super Wild Assed Guesses) have more accuracy than Fauchi’s so called models.
