COME PROTEST RELIGIOUS HATRED!

SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2:00 P.M.
BORDERLANDS BOOKS
866 VALENCIA STREET, SAN FRANCISCO

Horror book writer Ray Garton will be appearing at Borderlands Books on Saturday, July 11, at 3:00 p.m. to sign his new novel BESTIAL.  This book contains virulent and obscene religious hatred aimed at the Seventh-day Adventist church in particular and Christianity in general.

Ray Garton is a bitter former Seventh-day Adventist who has enhanced his career by telling vicious lies about the church and its co-founder Ellen G. White.  He has filled his novel BESTIAL with more of those lies, even depicting Ellen White (1827 - 1915) in a pornographic scene of sexuality that should be bitterly offensive to Christians everywhere.

Seventh-day Adventists and Christians do not need to take this kind of smearing treatment from a writer of dirty horror fiction books.  A protest is being planned at the book store.  Garton’s appearance is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and we would like to gather outside at 2:00.  If you can’t come, please alert your Christian friends in the area.  The address again:

BORDERLANDS BOOKS
866 VALENCIA STREET, SAN FRANCISCO

We hope to see you there!  God bless!

SPAM TO SELL BOOKS?

Is it possible you have been hid under a rock somewhere? Attacks against Christianity have not stopped since Christ. This call for help seems more of an advertisement to call attention to selling a book. Sensationalism will not stop profane things; God will in His timing.

I am not spamming. I thought coming here I could connect with fellow Christians who would be interested.  I guess I was wrong.  I'm sorry to have bothered you and made you so angry.

larry2 - I'm sorry if I came across as angry; I am not. Maybe reworded I can say that when anything like this takes place where Christians are asked to make a public protest against something, it normally only publicizes the thing they are against and sells more books than they would have sold.

In such an effort to bring attention to something like this, I actually suspected you to be the author since you come here on your first post soliciting others to do something rather than prayer. Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think we're to let God fight Pharaoh. Do you have scripture that says differently?

Just my thoughts in Jesus' name - larry2

I'm actually a pastor (Adventist) who knows the author. I haven't read the offensive book or passages and don't plan to. I do know that he is not bothered by the idea of the protest at all.

I cannot think of any way that a protest would advance the cause of Christ. It actually makes the booksigning that much more newsworthy and interesting, potentially advancing sales of the book in question more than anything else that could happen there.

I can't think of anything that Jesus or the apostles did that remotely resembled a protest of anything. They proclaimed the advancing Kingdom of God, called people to repentence, did good for people, and represented God as He really is. I pray that His people will take the same approach today.

A great passage for understanding this is Psalm 37.
