Ms debbie:
Yes, I'm sure we can look back and see how, by God's grace there have been wholesome formative influences in our past.
The high calling of Christian motherhood is sth that we can be especially thankful for with regard to those of us who have had Godly Christian mothers.
Take care.
Ms Debbie:
Yes, years ago with my parents it was striking a balance between firm guidance and letting me gradually make my own choices.
But it can be hard for parents to see their kids fail by their own actions; sometimes it's easier for them to intervene.
Godly parenthood is extremely valuable.
Have you ever sat down with your parents and asked them why they never discipline you? Here i another thought too. 17 is an age where you truly try your wings as you are still a child, but with adult attitudes. Think about what you are about to do and ask yourself if it is pleasing to your parents and to God. There are eight kids in my family and my mother had a rope (not a literal rope) on us that had a lot of slack and when we were getting to deep into something she would jerk on that rope to get our attention, but let us make our own choices and was always there and still is there for us if we mess up. I'm 55 years old and I thank my mother for letting us make our own choices as with her guidance we all turned out pretty good in our adult years.
farouk I had so many influences growing up that I could have turned out in many different ways. My father was an angry mean person to all of us growing up which instilled hate and anger in me. My mother was a loving and caring mother to all of us kids and instilled many good values in us and left us make our own choices, but always keep a reign on us so we would not get into trouble. My grandparents who lived beside us where my Spiritual inspiration in my youth and showed me the love of Christ. I had a choice to the way I could have grown up to adulthood. I could have been a mean angry person like my father with his temperament, which at times I was this way in my youth and got into many fights in school until I found the salvation of Christ when I was seventeen and this is where the love that my mother and grandparents instilled in me that caused me to be a loving and caring person today through the love they had for the Lord. It's the choices we make in our early years that can affect our adulthood through the influences of our youth.
