Sounds good..could possibly be a good tool to give a positive approach to christianity and if someone is already a christian..It would be a place of relieving our boredom by associating with a christian atmosphere as opposed to some of the secular influences...

Maybe also computer games, books of interest...etc
God bless,Peck

There was a very popular coffee shop here in town with a very nice atmosphere -- the only wildly rampantly apparent "Christian" thing about it was the Christian bands and soloists who'd be invited to perform there on the weekends.

SO lots of folks went there just because it was a great coffee house with wonderful light lunches and the beignets, oh my goodness, the beignets! But because they loved the place they'd get exposed to these great bands and soloists bringing in Christian material.

A couple of big "chain" coffee places came in and made the owner an offer he couldn't refuse, though, and it was shut down.

Yeah, I like to go to both Christian and secular places that offer wholesome entertainment.

Janine, I've always dreamed of having such a place, maybe a good Christian bookstore semi-attached, a couple of lounging areas where small groups could meet as well.  Maybe someday...

I've seen one of these at a super-mega church.  They have a bookstore/coffee shop attached to the foyer.

Jimbob

Yeah, but I'd want mine out in the streets, preferably (as long as I'm dreamin') in a highly pedestrian city like Manhattan, Moscow, some place with tons of passersby.  I first got thought about it walking through London several years ago.  I'd rather it have a mission-minded focus, with outreach type small groups meeting during the lunch hour each day.

God had showed me this vision, and in this vision He showed me this building with  everything this forum talk about. Pray for me on my journey. Thank you for the conformation and encouragement. God bless you

I think that is a great idea.  I would certainly go if there was one in my town!

This town is so boring, if you don't go to the clubs and drink, there really isn't anything to do except go to the movies or go bowling.  And I am personally tired of doing that.

I think that if God gave you a vision for something like this you should go forth with it prayerfully.  I think that it is a great idea though!

a christian lounge will not be christian unless it admits non-christians.  :)

Personally, I don't like them.  I would rather stay home.  However, they are a great ministry for socialites.

Duke

Yeah I think its a good idea especially for the youth! They really need things to do that are acceptable and encouraging so I think it would be great! Due to personal health problems I would not go except for the sake of supporting such a thing!
