My boyfriend of 1 year is Jewish and in order for us to get married I must convert.  Does anyone have experience with this or any advice too?

Andy I introduced my self as an 81 year old jew that loves JESUS. I mention this simply to indicate that  I have some experience with your problem.  The kind of jew heis might be important:Secular (non-observant) he could convert easily to christianity-Reform , he and you could be very compatible - Consevative, he could very well wish to convert you to judaism = Orthodox, well you probably not even dating. Generally mixed marriages are not very happy ones.  If both members of the marriage are really sincere and observant of their respective religions there is bound to be a great deal of conflict affecting almost every aspect of your lives and your children`s lives.     Before you do anything you would be doing yourselves an  injustice if you both ,together , do not discuss this with Pastor and Rabbi. ::cheers:: ::hug::

Matthew 10:36-38

    36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[a]

37"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

As the above poster said - God expects us to place him before any other relationship. If we love a human being more then him, we've created an idol.

Only those who are willing to give up everything for God and his ways can follow him in the way that he asks us too.

If we make man our idol, then we reject God as our God, whether we realise it or not.

So it's a tough one - but Jews are not christians, the same as jews and christians arn't muslims.

So falling back on the 'but it's the same God' just doesn't work. The jews murdered jesus christ and rejected him as the son of God and still do. That doesn't make them bad. But the bible does state that the only way to God the father is through God the son (Jesus Christ) John 6. John 5:23

If you have to convert to judaism then you're choosing man over God if you marry this man.

And if you choose this man over God anyway then you can't really expect to keep the faith that you already have because you're rejecting God in the process.

The choice is yours. But the consequences are eternal.

Hope that helps.

God bless  ::prayinghard::
