God intervening

Does anyone have a specific example of when god intervened on their life?

chosenone

A lady I know had been very ill and in a wheel chair for 7 years. She was prayed for and instantly healed. She never needed that wheelchair again. That was an amazing intervention.

MeMyself

Nothing huge, but zillions of "little" things.  A trial suddenly makes perfect sense because you can see from the other side that God was there all along and had a purpose and a plan for what was walked through.

As with Memyself, I have no huge significant examples, but so many little ones, when taken altogether they have changed my life.

Although God does intervene in dramatic fashion on occasion as shown in Chosenone's example, my experience has been, His work is primarily done in little nudges.

He is still nudging me along, from one day to the next there is little progress but if you looked at me five years ago and today, you would see that indeed there is evidence of a dramatic intervention.

My advice to one seeking evidence is not to look for the overwhelming, but look to the little things, when added up, His intervention is undeniable.

Not really gonna tell ya.

I really don't know you or what impact my sharing would have in your life and I just don't give away the good stuff to anyone. But I'll leave it at A LOT and regularly.

One very big and a million or more in little ways.

Very big:  when my total knee replacement was failing at the eight year mark, I asked an elder in our church at the time to pray with me for time to raise my children.  That was in 1988.  It is 33 years old now and still going strong.  That was absolutely a major miracle in my life -- it was the second replacement in that knee and we can't do another without a bone graft.

Little things?  Daily when I listen to Him.  This morning I got a 'hold' on going outside to finish up some work, and that put me here for a rather special email that needed an immediate response.  So many, many times a nudge to do this or that job first, or get outside to get something done (and then it rains later, which was not in the forecast so I would not have gotten that job done), or stay in for a moment -- and then the phone rings and one of the kids is calling and needs to talk.

It's when our old electric blanket went out in the spring, and that was when the others were on sale -- and we have this marvelous one now that really heats up when on 'high' and that warm mattress when I get into bed is magic on my old arthritic back.  I'm sure heaven hears my "ahhhhhhh" every time!

Then there was the time, 13 years ago, when I was terrified to get married again after the betrayal I had been through with the kids' dad (my ex-husband).  Two days before the wedding I was hysterically, in tears, trying to talk Barry OUT of marrying me.  Had he listened to me that day I would have missed the biggest blessing in my life; he also knows to listen to God.  "I know God has given you to me, Honey, and we'll be fine."  We are.

There is Chris' retardation.  Adopted at 20 months, Chris only had mild retardation due to being born to a heroin-addicted mother.  But at 3 he suffered viral encephalitis which left him profoundly retarded.  That was God.  Because of that I learned sign language and because of that ended up teaching a deaf women's Bible study.  Because of Chris we get to stay home from things we don't want to attend!  Because of Chris we made ourselves a place where we love being, with the animals, growing our own fruits and veggies, and having lovely gardens to work in and enjoy.

Because my best girlfriends in the past were Mormons, I had to learn about their faith compared to the Bible.  That helped me learn Bible fast and pretty well!

So much, so often -- and I am so grateful.

When I had first started working at a shipyard on the gulf coast many years ago, I had to trim down a system drawing that we had just plotted out.  To do so, we used what can only be described as a paper cutter on steroids.   There was this big table with a big heavy blade.  You would lift the blade, position the drawing on the table and then bring the blade down to trim the drawing.

On one particular occasion, I was trying to adjust the drawing after having lifted the blade.  Somehow, I got my arms crossed and wound up dropping the blade.  It landed square on my palm after falling the complete height, and let me tell you, IT HURT.  I thought for sure I had sliced my hand clean open, and by all rights, I should have.  When I finally worked up the courage to open my hand, there was nothing.  The skin was a little pink where the blade hit, but it was intact.  Not even a scratch.  I didn't even wind up with a bruise!

It is hard to acurately describe the situation in words, but my hand should have been sliced clean open and there was nothing, nothing at all.

Hi John,

You have me a bit perplexed.

Luke 11 (KJV)
33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

Does it matter the OP is unknown..

Matthew 5: (KJV)
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

::headscratch::

I would think God's blessings should be shared that these blessings not only fall on the individual, but edify the masses, but maybe that is just me.

Boy do I ever and it has been just recently.  I had gotten really into mormonism lately and in fact was going to be baptized next month and start going to temple ceremonies.  Yeah I know I should have listened to you guys.  Anyway Monday this friend of mine was going to go do something and instead God impressed upon him that he needed to send me a message and he was talking about exactly what was going on and how I had been feeling.  Then Tuesday I had talked to another friend and as we were hanging up I told her I was probably going to go to the mall.  She knew in her spirit though that I was actually going to go to watch the mormon baptism.  I got a text from the missionairies saying thet the baptism had been moved to next week.  I texted my friend and was like You were just praying for me weren't you and she texted back Wow!  Yes I was!  I found out when I talked to her that night that when we had gotten off the phone she was like God I have said and done what I can but I can't stop her from going so you do something to stop her.  Then last night I was listening to a praise and worship cd that I had found and one of the songs was Draw Me Close and the lyrics that really hit were "Help me find the way.  Bring me back to You."  Satan had tried to lead me astray and I almost fell for it but God was like "No, you are my daughter and I'm not going to let him have you."

The better you know the Bible, the more you will be able to guard yourself against deception.  The LDS church is extraordinarily deceptive, even with its own members.
