ELCA Assembly Opens Ministry to Partnered Gay and Lesbian Lutherans
09-CWA-34-CA
MINNEAPOLIS (ELCA) - The 2009 Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) voted today to open the ministry of the church to gay and lesbian pastors and other professional workers living in committed relationships.
The action came by a vote of 559-451 at the highest legislative body of the 4.6 million member denomination. Earlier the assembly also approved a resolution committing the church to find ways for congregations that choose to do so to "recognize, support and hold publicly accountable life-long, monogamous, same gender relationships," though the resolution did not use the word "marriage."
The actions here change the church's policy, which previously allowed people who are gay and lesbian into the ordained ministry only if they remained celibate.

It isn't.

It wasn't surprising with UCC, DOC, or MCC.  These guys have always been liberal and constantly push the envelope.

But the Lutherans...that's a major step.

The Methodists are next. In NYC, most (maybe all) of the major Methodist churches openly push the gay lobby agenda. Some Methodist churches have the gay flag (rainbow) flying to make sure everyone that passes by knows that they are gay friendly.

Be glad to explain ------------------- elca churches thinks it loving to have open communion with those who reject Gods grace in baptism and the lords supper so of course they would think the loving thing  to do ,is accept homsexuality also as a alternative to bible beliefs.

Its The  mean unloving bible believing orthodox Lutherans that find homosexuality, open communion with those who reject Gods grace in the sacraments,  and also abortion as wrong and sinful .

try a lutheran church that not just Lutheran, in name only .

But be warned they do not have religious fellowship with those who reject any part of the bible.
they do as Jesus says . and they stay away from them religiously.
Do you understand what that means ?
If aunt martha , or mom or dad  rejects A 6 natural day creation and believes in evaloution . You wont be able to let her or them  lead you in any more table prayers.
You can pray for her but not with heror them. iF Uncle Bill thinks homosexuality is ok with God as long as ones remains celibate . You wont be able to let him lead you in prayer either .
ANY REJECTION of any part of Gods word breaks religious fellowship and you will have to stay away from them religiously.
Romans 16:17
no lead prayer by them, no Lead bible study by them-- no attending their hedrodox churches for worship or communion .

if that is not to biblical and to Lutheran for you to handle.
Than here is
a confessional lutheran site.

You might like the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  It is a conservative fundamental Bible believing church.

At the rate the LCMS is going by compromising the confessions as well as areas of church practice this synod is going to fall prey to the liberal agenda as well. At the rate the LCMS is going, women pastors will be possible within years unless they do a full 180. I have recently left the LCMS to congregate with the WELS/ELS congregations. They are fully confessional and stay faithful to Lutheran doctrine and practice. Either way the Lord be with you in the pursuit for a Christ Centered Cross Focused church to commune in.
