Evolution - Is This "Science" In Conflict With The Torah?
« on: Tue Jul 10, 2018 - 16:42:13 »
I would appreciate hearing from Messianics or Non-Messianic Jews as to their thoughts on how Evolution may or may not be in conflict with the Torah.    Thank you.

First, the reader should be advised that pseudo-political opinions such as creationism are difficult to glean from legitimate polling sources such as PEW or Gallup.  These tend to lump Christian & Jewish survey results together (ie: attendance figures).   The larger Judeo-Christian label makes it easier to set polling tables, but fails to recognize the doctrinal variance between the two religions or sub-groups within each one.  Messianics are an unknown quantity and have been largely ignored.   Messianics are to religion in America as political parties other than Democratic or Republican.   They are simply invisible.

That being said, one can only express personal preference as a Messianic.  I am a creationist, which is consistent with Torah.

The political and secular influence of evolutionary theory on society cannot be understated.

Secular humanistic evolutionary theory rules America mostly because of legal precedent not scientific fact.  This legal precedent can be traced back to the inept performance of the evangelical legal team during the 1925 Scopes trial.  The trial was a watershed event and led to broad legal and academic acceptance of primates as ancestors of modern humans.  It continues to the present day despite DNA evidence to the contrary.

The reader should bear in mind that legal precedent did one thing and not another.   It supported and legalized the promulgation of evolutionary theory with regard to primate ancestry of humans.   It did nothing to establish the veracity of the scientific method and therefore didn't validate evolutionary theory for any other creature.

This is a legal issue not a scientific one.

Atheists use the legal precedent of evolutionary theory to justify their predispositions against the metaphysical nature of the universe.

Evolutionary theory has nothing to do with faith in statements of Torah.

At this point the convincing logic of Intelligent Design needs to be considered.  Additionally, new forms of animal and plant life seem to spring into existence all the time - even to this day.   Apparently God isn't done with creation on this planet.   Those who discover these new life forms merely state they were there all the time and only discovered recently - by the ones who take academic credit for it and whose career as well as salary benefits from it.

God creates.   Lawyers take away.

That's the sad truth of life in these United States.

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...
