My wife and I saw it last night and I thought it was great. Kirk Cameron did an outstanding job. I cried several times.
:)  I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I think one reason I was viewing it with a critical eye is that I talked my hubby into going to it.  Just when it was time to go see the movie, he said he didn't want to go.  In those types of situations, I tend to judge movies harshly, because I want him to like it but fear he won't.
He did like it.  He did, however,  insist on leaving before the ending, but that is sort of typical for him.  Once he thinks the movie is about to end, he NEEDS to leave the theater.   I guess I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD before I can see if I missed anything at the end.
The theater we went to see it is was brand new, with high back semi-reclining chairs.  Very comfy.
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in Him.  Nahum 1:7 (NIV)
His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22b-23a (NIV)

One of my married daughters and her husband has seen it and they loved it.I really want my other daughter to see it because some of the issues really apply to them. My wife and I are going to keep the grandkids for them so they can see it at the earliest opportunity.

It was a very powerful movie. The following is another thread in the movie review threads you missed. Every married couple in America ought to see it.

Our church is doing a sermon series inspired by the Movie:

We went to see it, but it was sold out.. Hopefully we can see it very soon... Let's believe that Hollywood will see the outcome of this movie and make more good family movies..

Anyone heard of this new movie coming out called FireProof?  I just got done watching the trailer and it looks pretty good.

It is Written:
Prov 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. KJV

All these mega-churche movies and cirriculum work-books are all doing the Dialectic Process - it's Transformational Marxism. They have
bought into the United Nation Wordly ~feel goodism~ ~let's get into our feelsing and cry some to be in step of our Social Order~. And in
the Church-growth you have Rick Warren leading the the way to the ways of death.

It's all a deception - Christian beware!   ::tippinghat::

Well, everyone keeps making a HUGE deal about this, so I may as well just see the movie. I didn't think it looked THAT good, but whatev. If this many people loved it, it has to be good.[color]

I am not sure that this is the correct place to discuss this but I am new to this forum and have to start somewhere.  My wife rented Fireproof and we were tried to watch it on Valentines day.  But it was really bad.  The acting was second rate, the character development was non existent.  Almost everything was cheesy and how shall I say overtly Christian.
Are we not called to a higher standard?  Can't we do better than hollywood?  Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Sorry, I posted this in the TV forum, not realizing their was a) a movie review forum and b) not realizing  it was already a thread.
