The rabbi is obviously one hundred per cent sincere and believes Israel should exist because God wants it to be so.
How does God feel about all the other people in the region I wonder?
I pray for peace and dignity for all.

Israel will always be God's People.

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
Romans 9:27-28

happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins
Romans 11:25-27

Quote
Israel will always be God's People.

No
They rejected GODS Covenant and had Christ Crucified
'CRUCIFY HIM, HIS BLOOD BE UPON US AND OUR CHILDREN!'

Christians are NOW GODS Chosen People

"And if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29)

'I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law, Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace' (Gal. 5:3-4).

'But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.'
1 Peter 2:9

ISRAEL,  IS THE CHRISTIAN BODY
It is Not A tribe of Turkish Mongol Jews who are actually CONVERTS to Judaism, Former Phallic Worshippers from the 7th century aka Ashkenazi Jews from Khazaria Asia.
Arthur Koestler, a  Jewish Historian, wrote a book called the 13th Tribe detailing all of this.
Israel is not the land they Occupy, land stolen from the Palestinian Muslims and Christians by Balfour, Rothschild, England and the UN.

a) Matthew 21:43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it."

b) Romans 11:26 "and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB"

The Israel of God- Galatians 6

Acts 15:15-18
"With this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written,
'AFTER THESE THINGS I will return,
AND I WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN,
AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS,
AND I WILL RESTORE IT,
SO THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD,
AND ALL THE GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,'
SAYS THE LORD, WHO MAKES THESE THINGS KNOWN FROM LONG AGO.

Romans 10:19
Paul declares that Israel received the message, but did not accept it.

Romans 9:6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

c) Romans 2:28For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

Equality Between Jews and Gentiles

Actually, light2theworld is correct.  Isreal will always be God's people.

Keep reading Romans 11, it says very plainly:

25I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
   "The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins."
28As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.

In Christ,

No

We are ALL GOD's People
And those that believe in Christ.  We are now His Chosen People.
Newsflash. The Covenant has been fulfilled.  Jesus died for our sins, those that believe in him will have eternal life, those that do not, will go to Hell.

'But you are a Chosen people, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.'
1 Peter 2:9

"And if ye be Christ's,  then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29)

'I testify again to every man that is circumcised that he is a debtor to do the whole law, Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace' (Gal. 5:3-4).

This is what Jesus had to say to the Jews ..he called them 'Liars, Hypocrites, Snakes, Serpents, Vipers, Of their Father the Devil, and Synagogue of Satan'

"You Snakes! You brood of Vipers! How will you escape being condemned to Hell?
MT 23:33

'You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.'
 John 8:44

'I know your afflictions and your poverty--yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.'
Rev 2:9

'I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.'
Rev 3:9

All of those who do not believe in Christ and practice his word, by Faith and by Works, including Jews and unbelievers, are Damned to Hell for eternity.

“Crucify Him. His blood be upon us and our children…”
- Matthew 27:25...Jews to Pilate

'The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.'
Acts 3:12

' For ye, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judaea in Christ Jesus: for ye also suffered the same things of your own countrymen, even as they did of the Jews;  who both Killed the Lord Jesus And the Prophets, and drove out us, and pleased not God, and are contrary to all men.'
Thessalonians 2:14-16

Tradcath, only you hate the Jewish people.  God loves them.  His word states that explicitly.  I quoted you that passage and you said "no," but it does not matter what you say.  God says, "Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved."

Romans 11:25 does not say full number of Gentiles.  It says the fullness of the Gentiles.  That is a completely different statement.

He only loves Jews that keep his commandments.. and since when they break them there are no longer sacrifices to atone for them.. nor do they accept Jesus' sacrifice then I think they are just plain out of luck.

Not all Israel is Israel as the bible states.

IMNHSO, those that are fascinated with the current state of Isreal are so because of new age doctrines regarding the end times... they interpret symbolism in the bible that they havent the first clue about and try and apply them based on current meanings to their own demise.

IMNSHO, dispensationalists and those that support the pagan state of Israel are going to share the blood of the palistinians on their hands.

I agree Tantor.
Excellent post.  Christians need to spend More time on the New Testamant and less on the Old Testament.

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that Killest the Prophets, and Stonest them which are sent unto Thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chicks under her wings, and ye would not!
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate."

Jimmy, Tantor,

I will continue to go by what the Bible says.   I quoted it twice in this thread.

Thank you.

Romans 9, 10, and 11 make uncomfortable reading for those who claim that the church = Israel, and that there is no future for Israel.

John 3.16 contains great theology.

Read God's Word prayerfully every day.

Try vacationing in the South: plenty of sun, and some great churches down there!

(And if folks feel they must have tattoos, have you considered having them in faith related designs?)

No it doesn't.  It says what it says..  It also shows the futility of the dispensationalist doctrines very clearly.
