Americans doubt media on Iraq

Half of Americans now say Iraq had weapons of mass destruction when the United States invaded the country in 2003 -- up from 36 percent last year, a Harris poll finds. Pollsters deemed the increase both "substantial" and "surprising" in light of persistent press reports to the contrary in recent years.

Well it looks like the Dems need to have to rewrite their campaign speeches -  it'll be a hard sell arguing that Bush lied us into a war if half of your listeners believe that Iraq had those nasties.
When you're trying to persuade people to do something,  it's easier to base your argument on what the audience already believes,  even if that belief is wrong.

That's a play directly from Bush's pre-Iraqi invasion playbook.

WMDs or no WMDs -- Or would that be WsMD? --

Anyway, did they got 'em or did they not, I am not sorry to see Saddam toppled, I wish a few other places could feel our particular interest in their weapons or lack of 'em.  Too bad it ain't wise to go around stepping on necks.

If they passed through Syria, could they be in the hands of Hezbollah?

Syria has been everybody's pimp for so long, you might actually have something there.

Israel's still standing, so I'd say no.
