I believe abortion is an abomination in the eyes of God, but I was saddened when I heard about Dr. Tiller's murder in Wichita while attending a church last Sunday morning.  As Christians God has given us one weapon to use in the battle against the evil one and its not a gun, its a cross.  We are to lift up the cross of Jesus Christ so that all men will be drawn to him.  Then we are to take up our cross and be willing to lay down our own life to show the world what its like when people are living lives sold out to Jesus Christ.

Scott Roeder's actions will leave another black mark on the non-believers view of God and of those who follow Him.  I pray that the Holy Spirit will completely fill up the church of Jesus Christ so that we live the lives we are called to live and I pray that we, like Jesus, will love our enemies with a cross.

CNN brought on a couple people to say "this is not an individual event...this is the result of the anti-abortion movement"

While I am saddened about the abortions, and murder of the doctor, it was despicable to watch people defame the pro-life movement.

Title: Dr. Tiller

Well, I just heard something very moving from someone at a podium at a news conference.   He said he was very, very sorry for Dr. Tiller. I think "grieved" for him because he left this world with blood on his hands and was not prepared to meet His Maker ---and that is a terrible, terrible thought.

I made me think that that speaker might make people"think" about just what it would be like to kill thousands of babies and then meet your Maker.

I am not in a position to know - I am not a judge --but, I felt it might wake some people up to "meeting their Maker" from that man's statement.   Good for him.

You're right, Elaine.  It's easy to look down our noses at a man who killed 60,000 people and somehow convince ourselves God will see us in a better light.  But the fact is ALL of our righteous works are as filthy rags to our Father. God also did say to be careful when we feel joy or satisfaction when we are witnessing another's downfall, or He may turn that wrath on YOU.

"Thou shalt not murder", ................so therefore I take no satisfaction in the fact the Tiller was murdered, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't happy that a man who has himself murdered thousands of innocents will no longer be able to do so.
I ache for his loved ones beause I have been where they are now, but for the unborn's sake, I'm glad he's gone.

It is not a good thing when a creature of God's dies at the hands of another. God makes it clear in the OT that the shedding of human blood is particularly inappropriate.

Having said that, there are appropriate times to remove individuals from society.

This was not one of them.
