Interesting article.

Can it be far behind here?

Apparently not.  Physical limitations are now considered, even by many people of faith, a legitimate justification to put another to death.

Way back when I was in junior high school, before we knew we didn't have to put up with people who had birth defects, our Assistant Principal was a fellow who was born with  a cleft palate and had a prominent scar on his upper lip from the corrective surgery.    As Assistant Principal,  he was the fellow who got the privilege of giving us boys our licks when we failed to cooperate like we were supposed to.  (We also didn't know that corporal punishment would permanently damage our tender phsyces.)  He probably gave out 5 - 10 lickings a day.    That made him wildly unpopular,  and we had a very unflattering nickname for him which made reference to his scar.    I left junior high school and went on to high school and thought I was done with him.

After I had been at the high school about a year,  he showed up as the Assistant Principal there.  That really burned my biscuits.    I really wanted to be rid of him.    But I don't know that I disliked him enough to wish this on him.

I know a local youth minister who MIGHT have been born that way, it's kinda hard to tell.  There was also this guy that lived up the street when I was a kid who certainly was born that way.  It appears that they both prefer to have had the lives they've had to not living at all.  I think I heard only one thing ever said out of the way to the guy up the street.  The normal reaction, if any, was usually a shrug and the figuring that the guy has a small scar on his lip and that most folks have a scar somewhere or another.

taller, better looking and smarter . . .

They turned me loose from the nervous hospital.  Said I was well.  Mmm hmm.

I was born with a genetic abnormality as was my oldest son.  We both were born with our legs turned in at the hips.  I had many years of going to the chiropractor, and it was very painful to turn the bones the way they are now.  I guess they should have aborted me.

I also was born with eczema.  My second and third child were born with it too.  I guess since we're not perfect, we shouldn't be here.  Oh, I also have bent pinkies.  All of my children have that as well.  I really hadn't noticed how terrible my life has been to myself, my community, and my parents.

Does anyone else have any abnormalites they were born with too?

I was born abnormally smart and good-looking.  At least, that's what mom always said.

Seriously, if we look hard enough we can find something "wrong" with anybody.  And also something right, unless ya like the designated hitter, or something.

Nick,

Here I'm forced to agree with you. It's hard to imagine much value in anyone who supports the DH rule. :p

Last night I saw a friend of mine that I have known for at least 15 years.  She was born with a cleft palate.  She is a very sweet beautiful girl.  I see nothing wrong with her, but if you look close she has a tiny scar on her upper lip.  You can't see it if she wears make-up though.  I don't see how her life would not be worth living.

I think the guy from the movie sign has one as well.  I think his name is Jacquin Phoinix.(sp?)  There is someother guy that is on a show with Sara Rue and Andy Dick, but I can't remember his name, he has a cleft palate.

What else are they going to start killing for?
