Corvette Homecoming weekend.
« on: Thu Aug 29, 2019 - 17:14:48 »
For you Corvette lovers, it's a big weekend in Bowling Green, Ky. I live about 20 miles from there in a small town,      and even in that small town there are Corvettes everywhere. Amazes me that they come from all over the country
 this weekend.
The new Corvette is a mid engine and does 0 - 60 in less that 3 seconds, with a top speed of 194 mph.
The price is less than 60 k, which for that car is not bad.
It's amazing to go to B'Green and see them everywhere you look. Some really beautiful cars.
I guess that's news from around the world since it's the only Corvette factory in existence.
Oh, and for us a little older, Jefferson Starship will have a concert there tonight.

Thanks for the link. ::tippinghat::

So, this event is hosted at Bowling Green only every five years? That's gotta go on my bucket list. ::clappingoverhead::

Soterion, it is a little confusing but:

The National Corvette Homecoming is an annual event held in Bowling Green, Kentucky ... announced that the ICCC (International Council of Corvette Clubs) held its annual convention in conjunction with the National Corvette Homecoming.

I believe the Caravan is every 5 years. And they come from all over and "Wagon Train" their way here.

I hope that's right.

 Blessings

Last weekend they had their annual gathering of Corvettes in Carlisle PA. (My cousin goes annually)

As to what happened with that sink hole... only thing worse would have been the original Bullitt Mustang being involved.

(Just a side note for all of you car buffs out there..... if you have not heard....
... Ford has a limited edition for anyone interested.... was out summer of 2018... but I have not seen even one.... ::cryingtears:: https://social.ford.com/en_US/story/vehicle-type/performance/introducing-the-limited-edition-2019-mustang-bullitt.html)

I don't do Fords, although the 69 Boss 429 Mustang does deserve some credit.

I don't either....  Fix Or Repair Daily  ::shrug::

Although I do wish I had my 67 Mustang back in my posession. Not to drive, just to have.

I have my feet firmly planted in GM cars... specifically my 2001 Buick Regal.....  Still humming right along. ::tippinghat::

The day my grandson got home from boot camp and infantry training, he bought a black 2004 Mustang convertible. He didn't set out to buy that make/model, but it was such a good deal he couldn't pass it up. He actually wanted a truck. After he put his tribal tags on it, and a super sharp looking Marine decal on the back...it looks very, very nice. His girlfriend gave him a big thumbs up on it, too.
Mustangs go way back in our family. His grandfather used to own a black '66 Mustang.

Speaking of which, that car just sold for 3.74 million.

That's still $37,500.00 let me see if I can find one in the junkyard close to me~My son just brought five acres with three of four old pick-up bodies on the property~someone offered him $800.00 for one of them.
