President Barack Obama's two young daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu, according to White House press secretary Robert Gibbs.

He said the vaccine has not been given to Malia, 11, or 8-year-old Sasha because of risk factors. Full Story

I wonder why his press secretary would say that they hadn't because of risk factors and then they get it the next day. I wonder if they really got it. Strange times we're living in.

It's being used as a safety gauge, that Obama wouldn't give his daughters something that wasn't safe.

Doesn't matter.  H1N1 is already here in huge numbers.  Not enough available anyway, or of the seasonal flu vaccine, for that matter.

By the way can someone give me a legitimate news organization or video or transcript of the Obama press secretary saying they had not received the vaccine due to risk factors? That sounds like a fake quote.

You are such a liberal hack! A chain email letter? I sourced the link to a news website. It quoted the White House Press Secretary for Pete's sake! Were they just making it up?

I think you misunderstand. I wasn't referring to you I was referring to the poster who had just copied and pasted a chain email directly before my post. Their post began with "this is an e-amil about the H1N1 that i got from my mom today" etc...

That source does not quote the press secretary as you claim. Quotes tend to use quotation marks. The blogger asserts/interprets that the press secretary said that but I'm looking for an actual source that quotes or has a transcript or video of this questionable and elusive remark. It is odd that the only source you can find for it so far is on a Fox News Blog.

It seems like it should be a pretty simple thing to find and if such a quote actually exists I will fully acknowledge it and admit in big bold letters that you are right. By the way, I will never call you or anyone else a name with the intent of being insulting and I hope you would do the same.

EDIT: Wait now that I look at that fox news blog again, all it says is that at the time they did not receive the shots because it was not available to them based on their risk. Not the shot's "risk factors" as the NewsMax articled seemed to imply, but the kids risk level in terms of priority. Both articles you post clarify that the CDC was only allowing it to be given to kids with high risk due to medical conditions. Is this all that you were saying? If so I misunderstood and thought you were saying that Obama didn't give their kids shots and that the press secretary said it was because the shot itself had risk factors.

Since I am a big shot, I will let you know my kids have not been vaccinated.  Most likely, they've already had the H1N1.

There you have it, even big shots and their kids can get the flu.
