Davy Macias, 37, was intubated and dying of complications from covid-19 when doctors helped her give birth to her daughter. She would never see her baby.

Her husband, Daniel Macias, 39, would only get a brief glimpse of their child because he, too, was hospitalized after contracting the virus. According to Davy's sister-in-law, Terri Serey, Daniel waited to name the baby girl because he believed he and his wife would walk out of the hospital alive to introduce the newborn to their four other children, the eldest age 7 and the youngest, 2.

But about a week after the baby was born, Davy died. Two weeks later, so did Daniel. Davy Macias did not get vaccinated because she was pregnant.

(Bad hospital... in a worse state. Must be connected with the one here that let my best friend die.)

The deaths of Davy and Daniel Macias echo the story of Lydia and Lawrence Rodriguez, a Texas couple who last month died weeks apart from each other, leaving behind four children.

It's sad they died.  And it's sad they are using this story for propaganda.

So true.

My grandson's girlfriend is a nursing student and is doing clinicals in labor and delivery right now. She said there's a constant stream of moms coming through there with covid. However, they haven't lost one mom due to covid. Just two weeks ago, my cousin's wife was in labor and delivery and both she and my cousin tested positive for covid. She delivered their baby and they all came home and all is fine now.

Speaking of propaganda - I saw an article yesterday that said a certain area's ICUs were 75% full!!! To the average person who doesn't know much about the ICU, that sounds scary, but most hospital ICUs run about 75% full most of the time, even before covid, and during a bad flu season, some units are completely full and they have to divert to other hospitals or try to move some of the less sick patients into regular rooms. It's always been like this. How do I know this? My grandmother was a surgical nurse. My aunt is an RN. My son is an ICU RN...etc, etc.
Yes, ICUs can get full, but sounding the alarm that area units are 75% full is fear-mongering propaganda.

So you dont think they died? Maybe not  ::shrug::

I know the major propaganda in Pittsburgh is the number of students they claim have covid.

School is barely 2 weeks open and there is no way this many in so many schools could be sick... and especially not the ones under 12.

Has to b the union wanting the teachers out on another paid year of vacation.

EEspecially when masks are mandated now

Rella,

No, mommydi is not saying these parents didn't die.  The media is using the worst cases of heart-wrenching deaths, of younger people, parents, etc in order to push people to be scared to get vaccinated.  The media uses the rare cases and highlights them to make it appear that things are worse than they are to push the result they want.  Let's say that again, it's rare for people under 40 to die of covid.

There are going to be people that are young that die.  There are kids that have died.  However, if you look at the overall statistics, the number of people that die under 50 is very minimal.  The vast majority of the deaths are in those folks who are 65+.

Percent of deaths:
*0-17 - 0.06%
*18-29 - 0.47%
*30-39 - 1.34%
*40-49 - 3.45%
*50-64 - 15.57%
*65-74 - 22.37%
*75-84 - 26.97%
*85+ - 28.76%

As of today, the CDC provisional death count from/with covid is 643,858 people.  Those under 40 account for 12,089 deaths.  Under 30 is 3,043 deaths, and under 18 is 412 deaths.

We also know that the 20's crowd is the highest group for number of cases.
