Some Words of God unspiritual people can’t live.

(Matthew 5:39) “You have learnt how it was said: ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ But I say this to you: offer the wicked man no resistance.

Can you give an example on how to offer the wicked man no resistance?

I will give you the words that Jesus gave me.  Jesus told me we were not to hurt/harm anyone for any reason.

Even trying to 1 up someone in conversation, and cheering another 1 on for being the winner by giving them your total support? Trying to make yourself look better in front of others or being a part of a support group that attempts to carry you on their shoulders for the sake of attempting to harm what they think is the opposition? It is subtle but in ways like that too?

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

There is no point in trying to make what Paul said less than what Jesus said, since they were breathed from the same voice!  ::smile::

Ephesians 2:8-9...For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith...and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  9not by works, so that no one can boast.

1John 1:8...If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Nonspiritual people boast of not sinning and being perfect...but, we see here that they are deceived.  I know Giver...hard to believe that it is by faith we are saved, and if we claim to be without sin, the truth is not in us ::frown::. 

So...our God given faith in Jesus Christ for the atonement of sins which saves the spiritual (those in Christ)...to God the glory!

Those who are nonspiritual will depend on them not sinning to be saved...but, we know the truth is not in them...their stomach is their god...their glory is in their shame!

Now this is much more impartial of a response. Scripture with a comment to back up the point. It doesn't make anyone feel "left out" and doesn't inadvertently hurt feelings because some people don't feel the same support that others are given.

Jesus called a man a fool who wanted to save up for his retirement.  That is what Jesus said, and Luke told us he said it, and it is written in the Word of God.

How many people learned that lesson? 

The Bible is such a good teacher; right?

(Luke 12:16-20) “Then he told them a parable: ‘there was once a rich man who, having had a good harvest from his land, thought to himself, “What am I to do?  I have not enough room to store my crops.

You know what else makes the unspiritual unable to live, not selling everything.

My husband and I both did this unconsciously. When we got married, he had to sell all of his belongings because he was coming to America. He only came with $100 in his pocket. Because we had nothing, I too sold everything I had. In fact the money I used to marry him was the money my grandmother left me when she died from her insurance policy. My last $1000 from her, I traded for a plane ticket, so she left me more than just a $1000, she left me more love than I can ever imagine.

My treasurer is a gift from heaven.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

After I accepted Jesus’ call he asked me to give him my life.  When I was about to say yes to give him my life, the Holy Spirit let me know that I would lose everything I owned if I gave my life to Jesus.  A few months later found me living in a tent along with my wife and three babies.

Jesus had me live the next thirty years living from paycheck to paycheck, and at times with no income at all.  There was not savings, no retirement fund. 

The three children that were able all graduated from college, and more.  When we could not afford, or when doctors were not able, God healed us when we were sick.  When we did not have money for food, some how we seemed always to have enough to eat. 

We learned to trust in God.

God will continue to reward our children and grandchildren and so on and so forth, for our faith and trust in him.
