Tetris is a scary game. It hypnotizes me.  Literally.  At this point, I'm tempted to type something that could cause me to be locked up.


Many years ago, I was playing Tetris on an old Nintendo system and had advanced to some upper level.  Time had stopped, and I was aware of nothing but the game.  And I started hearing voices.

Speaking French.

Now, I do not understand a word of French, but suddenly I was hearing this conversation and understood every word of it.

I still play Tetris some, but not nearly as much.

I use the "bomb" to eradicate lines and columns that I don't want (like when I stack up too many on one side or when I have a gaping hole at the bottom and want to be able to use the space to get rid of lines).

I too am an addict: level 10 and 120 lines

I understand k-pappy.  My husband doesn't know I'm playing it again and I almost feel guilty

Yeah, today is National Common Sense Day, and my kids and I are having a "National Backwards Day" in honor of common sense, you know, we're totally doing non-sensical things like eating pizza for breakfast, ice cream sundaes for lunch, and for dinner we're gonna' have eggs, biscuits and other breakfast nummies for dinner -- and NO VEGETABLES today, nada.  Oh, and we're all wearing our pajamas all day long.  Of course, I'm wasting a bunch of time playing Tetris while they enjoy watching T.V. all day (trust me, this a real treat for them -- we don't watch a lot of T.V).  It's been a totally backwards and completely fun day.  :o)

Level 24, 351 lines.

I don't know that I should be bragging about this.  Seriously, how much time am I wasting?!?!

The secret is too many hours wasted!

Actually I don't have a secret.  Most of the time I do mess something up on level 7 or 8.  Sometimes I get as high as level 10 before I crash and burn.  I think getting to level 24 was a fluke thing -- all the pieces lined up just right, my brain was well rested, my fingers perfectly warmed up.... actually, by level 24 I was bored with the game and ready to go find something else to do.  lol

I try to fit the pieces precisely, leaving no gaps.  I aim for a completely filled in look, even if it means I've got several lines piled up a tall column on the left or in the middle needing one (or two or three) of those long gold/yellow pieces to fill it in.  I have a lot of "Mega Lines" this way -- I don't know, does that up one's score?

Always know what your next piece is gonna' be and know where you're gonna' put it.  Keep a running mental note of the piece(s) you need to fill in any gaps.

And I love those bombs.  I try to aim them for any gaps I do wind up with.  They go faster the higher you get in the game, so use them judiciously.

This game is an oldie and a goodie. Sometimes, I just have to come here and play some Tetris. Do I need to join a support group?

Okay, what happend to my Tetris!  I go away for a few days and now it's gone.  GONE, I tell you!  GONE!  What am I gonna' dooooooooo?!?!?!?!

 

I click on it and get only a blank screen.  Who is to blame for this?!? WHO!?!?
