But since there are so many denominations out there which one is holding to those scriptures?

in my area. Which one is right? Which message of Jesus as he taught it is the one that is taught today?

I've come a long way in life and experienced different things including spiritual and religious practices.Lately I've had a really strong craving to learn about Christianity. I just feel like I want to carry the bible and have it close to me.

Someone gave me an amplified bible for my birthday and it is almost like a magnet. I read the new testament and that is great. But since there are so many denominations out there which one is holding to those scriptures?

I would say, none. They all fall short to a degree.

YOu just need to do what you feel is right always, regardless of what others may say,however disagreements are not always a problem, its how we learn.

Debating can be beneficial, and as long as we agree on the basics of our faith(which most here do) then thats the most important thing.

I'm all for debate it just seems that there is a lot of personal back and forth and belittling that goes on when discussing doctrine and the like.

I'm here because the name caught my attention. Grace centered. When I hear about Jesus and God and salvation what is said is that it is by Gods grace that we are saved. It is that and that this community purports in the name to be centered on that that caught my attention.
What I'm about is starting at the mouth of the road that I was led to by this inner calling to find Jesus there. And I know the sign post says that road is all about faith in him and salvation. It is all the little side roads that I'm finding people here discussing that make it confusing. Conditional stuff, unconditional stuff. Holy spirit abiding before someone repents because that is what leads them to that. Holy spirit coming in after baptism as with Christ when he was baptized by John.

I figure at this point if Jesus led me to seek him I may just be better off tuning in and letting him take the wheel down that road as I use the bible as the GPS.

There is a lot of confusion here in that argument stuff and even in debate that makes it hard for this one who is new to the whole deal to fathom. Jesus is suppose to be the prince of peace and here is a group of grace centered people who aren't at peace discussing Jesus.

I thank you all for your indulgence. I'll stick around and see what I see. I hope you all work things out too.

Take some time before you reach too many conclusions.   The people here do love God but sometimes we let our personal stuff get in the way.   We're not making eye contact as we "speak" to one another so some statements made to one another are not always perceived in the way that they are meant.   We've got a broad range of personalities.   I'm pretty matter-of-fact and that's from so many years of dealing with manufacturers, customers and employees.  If you're a manager you've got to make a decision, say what you think, and move on without having a lot of time to weigh your words.  When you're accustomed to a pressure-packed environment so many hours for so many years sometimes the fruit often comes from the emotional side and it's not a spiritual product.   I know of others here who work in pressure packed environments.   That's no excuse but it's the truth.   Many can understand such things and many just look at their own lives and own situations and they can't comprehend why others are not just like them in their beliefs and their opinions and how they communicate here.  We've all got different family experiences and situations.   We've all got different health situations.   We're different ages.   Most of us grew up in certain denominational groups so we come here with different beliefs right from the get-go.   We vary in theological knowledge and education.   We've got new converts to people with Doctorates in Theology.  We've got our doctrinal pets and our doctrinal pet peeves.   We've got people here who think the Jews are still the elect and we've got people here who think that the Mormons are the elect.   Actually we're a lot like the early church here at this forum.   The early church was in flux and they couldn't agree on much either.   It just goes to show how God moves His plans forward despite how unreliable His people are.   He gets the glory, not us.   He takes us as we are.   The Potter molds the clay and He has more patience than we do.  Someday we will be with Him and we will have been perfected.   For now we're supposed to occupy until He comes.   

Stay focused on Jesus Christ.   Learn Who He is.   Learn What He did for mankind (and is still doing).   Learn Why He had to do those what He did.   You'll find that these things are what are important in the Christian faith.   Whether we take Welch's grape juice communion from little plastic cups versus dipping bread into a large metal cup with real wine is not worth sweating about.
