As Christians, what do you believe should be our response to the spread of Islam into our country?  I live in the U.S.! But others could weigh in with their own thoughts.  This isn't as much about protecting our Judea Christian based laws as it is (to me) about the global spread of a lie. It's a lie that has ravaged other countries.  As Muslims increase in numbers in the U.S., the Islamic influence will continue.  Meanwhile, they are recruiting (evangelizing), and while we sit back as Christians and do nothing, lives are being given over to this false religion. Sharia Law has suffocated Lebanon that used to stand alone with Israel as the only two free democracies in that region. 

So as Christians, what duties (if any) do we have to do what we can to stop this evil from spreading?  Do we stand firm in the faith that Truth will overcome and do nothing?  Do we prevent immigration to the U.S. Or restrict it?  Do we open our church doors like a church in the south did and invite them in?  Personally, I don't believe these are the options I would take.  There are many Christians with their heads in the sand as this is occurring.  First, I think we need to educate our church members on the defense of our faith when being challenged by Muslims.  There are also former Muslims who have been born again in the Christian faith.  They are uniquely capable of reaching the Muslims in America (or where anyone else lives) to evangelize and fight this lie head on with the Truth.  They could use support.

So as Christians, do you see an obligation to push back?  As Americans, do you feel the threat of Muslim influence eroding even more our freedom?  What should the Christian response be?

Part of the reason for the success of Islam, of course, is that Christians have failed to evangelize the world as they should.

Many people turn to Islam because they think Christianity is a white man's religion.  Nothing could be farther from the truth: Christianity was huge in Africa, about 300 years before it became a major force in Europe.  The Islamic invasions (with their forced conversions) didn't reach Africa until the 7th century.  Funny how no one today decries that incursion into African culture.

And of course, the Nation of Islam (Louis Farrakhan, Malcolm X, Elijah Muhummad) isn't really Islam at all.  It's just a black man's liberation movement masquerading as religion.  Which Islam was never meant to be.

I consider Islam to be enemy the Father is using to bring the world closer to the tribulation.  When ever His people have gotten out of like with the way He desires us to worship Him, He raises up a people to bring judgment, i.e. Assyrians/Northern Kingdom.  However it is not our job to change others ideas.  The truth needs to be proclaimed and then the hearer is responsible for their actions concerning that truth.  The Spirit is the one that changes ones way of thinking not us.  It is not our job to convert.  Our job is to proclaim the truth.
