I just can't help it. Specially seeing as not many actually know what we believe.

So if you wanna know ask.

Other Pentecostal's are welcome to answer if they desire.

Great thread!

Does the doctrine of the 2nd baptism of the HS set up a class system within the church?  Those who speak in tongue receive greater sanctification. etc?  Are people who do not speak in tongues looked down upon?

Here's another one: Why do some Pentecostal churches hold classes on how to speak in tongues?

No not at all. Tongues is a gift. The giver is God. I am filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. My husband is not. I am no better than my husband. No more sanctified no holier or not more righteous.

Not all do. And the few that do are very wrong.

Here's another: Do you believe, as some Pentecostals do, that the words "in the name of Jesus", or "in Jesus' name" must be said while you are being baptized in water, in order for your baptism to be valid?

The History of your beginning? Just what movement did your church come from. What set your church at difference than others?

That is very difficult to answer. I am originally Assemblies of God. But due to some problems with our church we have begun to attend a Pentecostal Church of God. The Assemblies as most know started as a result of the Asuza Street Revival. PCOG I am not sure.

Ok I have never been to an assembly of this type so this question comes from hear say and is not intended to be offensive but just wondering if true.
I'm have heard that when the Holy Ghost comes on some that that go to talking in tongues and roll on floor as in a seizure is this so?

Tongues is the initial evidence of the Holy Spirit. Years ago the Pentecostal church was nick named holy rollers. In other words some do. It all depends on the individual. Everyone reacts differently to the Holy Spirit.

The Assembly of God Pentecostals Baptize in the Mat 28:19 formula. That would include most of the TBN Pentecostals. T.D. Jakes would be Jesus name only.

Apostolic Pentecostals Baptize in the name of Jesus only. Acts 2:38, and 4:12.

No I don't.

Thanks for answering. Do you believe in the practice of being "slain in the spirit"? If so, what Scriptures, if any, would you use to support such a practice?

I would have to search for the scriptures. I will do that. But I have personally experience being slain in the spirit.

Please do search the Scriptures. And when you respond, along with any Scriptural support, please describe your experience, and what your church teaches and practices regarding this subject...
