I know that ALL of our sins were forgiven when we asked Jesus into our lives, but I need the verses that show where after we have been saved and forgiven that if we make a mistake that God forgives us of sins again.
We are forgiven when we ask God to forgive us, because at that moment, if we are sincere, He applies the atonement to our lives.
We are forgiven from that day onward ONLY when we are walking in covenant relationship with Him, as demonstrated here...
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light
, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
How do we walk in the Light?
1 John 2:10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light
, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.
When we are walking in love towards people (read the rest of I John), we are fulfilling our covenant obligation, therefore remaining abiding in the covenant.
