I use to be involved with the Pentecostal Churches my whole entire 27yrs of my life, and I'm still am--kind of.
I currently keep the Sabbath on Saturday over these last half a year at my local sda church, but I am still a true blue Pentecostal Charismatic Born Again Spirit-fill Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
I was raised in the Pente Churches, and yes, even speaking in tongues and being slain in the spirit.
I still go every now and then, but my home church is the sda church as of this year.
Its just more biblical in the sda church than the pente churches I feel.

If you believe that, I'm happy for you. I do not see sda teaching as more Biblical, so I couldn't fellowship there.

So you are a church hopper.  When the SDA do something you don't like... you will hop on to another?  I am very put off by someone who starts a topic with "Bashing" another part of the Body of Christ as their point of discussion.  It's just not "Christian" of any kind.

Besides, you talk about how much of a better religion your church is, but "Miss Spears" is your avatar...   Me thinks you don't understand what you are trying to teach.

Hello. Sabbath Keeper, I hope you did not convert to the SDA to keep the sabbath day.  I am a born again pentecostal and I believe they really bring the bible to life.  This could be why you was with them for 27 years!

Remember, keep the sabbath day is the responsibility of each person, whatever churh or desert island you happen to be in .  You do not need to change churches to do that.

Lifesaver,
I know this may seem silly -but I am so new to this ---so how is a Pentecostal Church defined ---my place of worship isn't even a church it's a "Center" ---they shy away from labels it seems ---but ---it sure seems Pentecostal to me ---they pray in tongues and do healings all over the place.  ( Maybe they just don't want to be labeled a religion ---I know the pastor talks ill of religions...he's strictly into the Bible, period. )    :)

Assemblies of God is Pentecostal, no?   Just from reading here it seems to be.
Any others you want to steer me to check out ---I really have not found a church home.

Elaine:

I do not claim to know everything myself - that is why we are all in this forum!!!  Your assembly sounds like a penecostal - with the praying in tongues and  healing.  I cannot say I have heard of, nor visited, the Assemblies of God, though, to make any statements about them.  Anyway the name does not mater so much - it is what they do inside the cuurch that matters.

Anyway the way I would define a pentecostal church is that it is very  "Holy Spirit"  and hands-on healing focussed.  The Day of Pentecost was the day the Holy Spirit decended on Jesus's apostles.  This is why pentecostal churches are Holy Spirit focussed.

The Pentecostal church I attend is the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG).  They have branches worldwide.  I do not know where abouts you are located, but you can Google them to find your nearest branch.  I have not put their website link here just in case I am not allowed.   Any problems, let me know.

Lifesaver  I don't know, what do you think?
