What's with the stupid question ?

Can God destroy Himself...as HE is the essence of everything that is good ?
Before you deem something stupid, you'd do well to make sure you actually understand its significant ramifications lest it comes back around to nip your behind.

Truth is all too often a commodity bought and sold on the open market.  We embrace truth with open arms as long as it takes us where we want to go, but the moment it wanders off in its own direction, we quickly turn on it, snarling.  Jesus showed us the powerful resistance we have to truth in His criticism of the religious hierarchy of His day.  He finally asked them, "Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?" (Jn 7:19), and, "I know that you are Abraham's offspring; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you." (Jn 8:37)

Unless the human heart has been cleansed to "hear" and "see" spiritual truth, it snarls and lashes out at it.  Christ offered Himself up to torture and death to show us the value of our own hearts.

This established, let's take the question in the OP to at least one of its conclusions and see how if there are yet hearts within the professing body of Christ set against Truth.

To sum, if God cannot destroy good, then eternal torture in hell is a ligical impossibility as it can be easily shown that there exists some good in every human being.  This is attested to in Jn 1:9.  We can here use philosophy to support theology.

Seems to me that because from God only goods proceed that it would be wholly against God's nature to destroy any type of good.  Am interested in hearing opinions.

Isa 53:10      Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.
