Howdy,

All too often those with plenty to eat and drink can't understand that there isn't enough for everyone.  It follows along the same mentality of Marie Antoinette as she expounded on the lack of bread for the masses and declared, "Let them eat cake."

Consider that in the U.S. the Colorado river which supplies water to several states is now totally consumed.  The river never reaches the ocean.

The problem of overpopulation has nothing whatever to do with the number of square miles of land on earth.  You might just as well post the number of rubber tires made each year since neither number is relavant.

Exactly. Which was my point. I actually re-did the calculations on the scrap of paper and the number comes out at around 12 million acres usable, I was just using it to show that if land acres was the determining factor, there would already be food shortages. Ofcourse everyone could be fed no problem at this point in time. I'd say its got more to with land management. If you have got a huge collective farm over several hundred miles, that is going to feed more people than the same area of farms but spread out, because then you don't have to worry about transport logistics etc, can employ less people.

Lack of arable land is a problem, and it will continue to grow as one as deserts grow, but I think its more to do with land management, over-use of resourmces and exploiting trade agreements.

If we are to assume land area as a limiting factor, then like I have shown, we are in trouble. But I am confident, as GM foods become more accepted (As they have to be) we will be able to get more food per acre. So therefore it isn't because technology will always find ways of increasing output. It is the entire system of how we gather food we have to change

That's a lot of conspiracy in one little post!

When someone starts recommending The Creature From Jekyll Island, I just drop a quarter in their cup and move on.

Overpopulation is an illusion because of our perceived scarcity of resources.  God provides enough for everyone, the earth has enough for everyone to eat.  We just need to level the playing field and share the world.

A television documentary I viewed a couple of months ago confirmed that the world's population, though increasing, is not increasing at the rate it was a decade ago. That is because the live birth rates are dipping in almost every country. There are not that many countries where the live birth rate has kept steady or gone up.

If this scenario continues, it will not be long before the number of deaths per year actually passes the number of live births, which will account for a world population decline in the tens of millions per year. If that projection does indeed, occur, then the amount of natural resources will be more than enough to handle this old sod for many more decades should the Lord tarry.

I think, as any pilot would tell you, it's a myth.  We have 3/4's as much empty space on earth as we have developed space.

Has anyone here ever heard of Chemtrails?

The Council believes we are over populated. Reagan, Bush, Nixon, Cheney, to name a few all believe we are overpopulated that is why they are culling the masses with ChemTrail Poison.

Just look up into the sky and you will not be seeing clouds.

Also if you take a look at all the major steel companies you will notice they have big conglomerates in FOOD, CHEMICAL, AVIATION, AND MEDIA.

Why food specifically?

If you are a steel giant you monopolise piping and then Chemicals or food. Another way to poison the masses.

These guys want the global population to come down to 1 billion.

You need to ask your doctor if Lithium is right for you.

I found an interesting article today that says that overpopulation is about to peak and then decline sharply due to declining fertility rates. Here's the article: http://www.reason.com/news/show/34848.html

What are your thoughts on this? Is the world overpopulated now? Headed for overpopulation? Or is Ronald Bailey correct in saying that overpopulation is a myth?

 Pondering

no their are not enough believers in Jesus.   and yes we are over populated with unbelievers in Jesus .

Hopeful we can reduce the number's of unbelievers by uping the number of believers who have heard Gods word
and believe.

Not over populated now, won't be later.
I once read  Reading that if you took every person in the world, put them in families of four, and pur them in simpe two story houses you could fit everyone on the Island of Japan.
That leaves alot of space.

And the Band Played On...    I live in an area of agriculture.  These farmers raise rice, corn, soybeans, cotton, sweet potatoes, hay, vegetables of all sorts, etc. for the market.   The land can't produce much more and nutrients have been reduced to almost nothing in the soil from repeated plantings and harvests for hundreds of years in some areas.   Read of the Terminator Gene.   I do believe the earth is over-populated.  There are 7 billion parasites on this earth already (of the human variety).  We in the industrialized nations are using our natural resources up, creating mounds of refuse, buried under tons of dirt.  I sometimes wonder what aliens might think if they were to see all this garbage!   "Wow, what beautiful earthworks these folks made!"   Maybe we should all watch the old movie "Soylent Green".    Crack up  That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

Nope.
If one believes in Heaven; then there is never enough people to go around  Clapping up high

I believe the Earth is a living conscience.
When the population grows; the Earth creates an additional Heaven (ie Density).

PS- How is it that every human has 100,000+ miles of veins/capillaries in their bodies and not think that there is too many veins in their body?

Why is it that they get along with every mile?
Answer: They have not seen those veins (ie 'Profiling')

We live in an Age of Human Profiling.
Profiling is an Evil Gift we got from the Tree of the Knowlege of Good & Evil.  Pondering

P.P.S- Whoever has said there is too many humans, has just declared they are the 'Worthiest' to survive the ovens of holocaust.
