Should a man be condemned to his past? He who condemns another, to the other’s past, then should the one who condemns, receive what he has given?

Your question doesn`t give enough detail with which to form an answer .  I know of nothing that JESUS will not forgive if asked in repentant prayer.  However man`s laws aren`t quite as lenient.  While without details a ready answer cannot be had a timely prayer is always good. Smile

DPMartin if I understand your question right, if a man doesn't forgive (condemns) another neither will God forgive him.  (Matthew 6:14-15)

Do you mean condemned "by" his past. Or condemed to "repeat" his past? Or could you mean condemned by others because of his past?

"Should " is always a tricky word, isn't it?  "Should" the one that condemns or judges, if I may, receive also condemnation or judgement?

Well, that is an easy one --- since it is not my place to judge or condemn ---that job is taken already ---my job is to love and forgive ---then the logical answer is ---"No".   Not by me anyway. (So the condemer will not receive from me what he has given.)

Good trick question. Did I win?

Elaine, you truly are from this answer a true disciple of Jesus.  I long to be a fast forgiver as Jesus was to us.  As you said, it is not our place to judge or condemn.  I am learning day by day through the word and others like you to act as much like Jesus as I can.  For this I thank you all.  I am truly blessed by you!! Isn't it wonderful, candy to actually "DO" the things that Jesus told us to? !!! Clapping up high

I mean when one finds out it really WORKS ---that we are FREE when we "Don't worry...give Him our burdens...cast our cares...do not judge...treat others as ourselves...turn the other cheek...ask the Father in His name...seek and knock and it will be opened unto you...believe and receive...look to Him...Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart"     I mean it seems endless -I paraphrased off the top of my head...and threw in some Old Test.

I am free ---of the old crap of judging, worrying, doubting, jealousies, having any fear at all about money, health -I mean He came for us to live abundantly until it over flows John 10:10?   Abundant in love and success and joy.
Now, right here - not in some future place only after death.

Well, I do go on - you get my point, I know you do. I get excited.

Your sis,
:)Elaine

Should a man be condemned to his past?

According to St. Goober of Mayberry, everybody's got one.

Suffering for your beliefs is called faithfulness, making others suffer for your beliefs is called being a jerk.

His cross, like the ark in the wilderness, is the center around which his people are to encamp; so that they cannot separate into factions, or withdraw from each other, without retiring at the same time from the presence of the cross.

Don't let the past contaminate the present.  Learn from the past, but don't dwell on it.
