(Fact-)Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself
« on: Tue May 11, 2021 - 11:42:55 »
Politics is a dirty business, and there is no shortage of FAKE NEWS out there.

So, do yourself (and us) a favor - before you perpetuate the latest bit of hot news, make sure it's hasn't been disproven already.  Here are a number of sites that provide fact-checking news/articles/services:

www.checkyourfact.com/

www.factcheck.org/

www.mediabiasfactcheck.com/

www.poynter.org/ifcn/

www.apnews.com/hub/ap-fact-check/

www.opensecrets.org/

www.sciencefeedback.co/

www.snopes.com/

I can't tell you these are all neutral.  Many of them TRY to be, but...  Snopes is certainly liberal.  CheckYourFact purports to be conservative.  I've simply listed off a bunch I found doing a quick round-up.  If you've got others that you'd like to recommend, please use the comments to share. ::smile::

Bypass the fact checkers and do some of your own work.  Otherwise you are at the same issue you were at before.  Trusting some other schmuck behind a computer for truth.  Someone that might have an agenda.

Yes, but the only way most of us have to check is online... which also is someone behind a computer.

And you know how many times you comment on people copy and pasting from Google...
