Could we be headed to a brokered convention?
« on: February 21, 2012, 06:44:08 AM »
With so many taking the lead then falling back and what looks like most folks are not excited about any of the GOP guys left in the race I am wondering if a brokered convention is in our future and who might come out of that as the GOP nominee.  There has been a lot of talk about Jeb Bush.  I just can not see another Bush as a winner right now I think the name alone would hurt him.

If we go to a brokered convention, especially if the economy is tanking again with high gas prices, increased foreclosures, and the like, I would expect a governor like Christie, Jindall, or whoever that dude from Ohio is.

I don't think Christie would be a very wise choice to put up as a presidential nominee, though I tend to like him personally. He's said on numerous occasions that at this time he isn't ready for the presidency. Comments like that would hurt him come election time as they make great sound bits for an opponent's add. After all, do you really want a president who said he's not ready to lead the  country?

If he can fog a mirror and isn't Obama, yeah.

Personally, a brokered convention would certainly be worth the price of admission.
