It would be pretty funny, if there were not so very many Catholics running our nation. Many of them the very Demlicans who now despise our Constitution and favor Socialism, and Republicrats who support them by allowing their agenda to go forward and prevent efforts to stop such. Pelosi and former Speaker of the House Ryan just to mention two of them.

54. It is remarkable how weak international political responses have been. The failure of global summits on the environment make it plain that our politics are subject to technology and finance. There are too many special interests, and economic interests easily end up trumping the common good and manipulating information so that their own plans will not be affected. The Aparecida Document urges that “the interests of economic groups which irrationally demolish sources of life should not prevail in dealing with natural resources”.[32] The alliance between the economy and technology ends up sidelining anything unrelated to its immediate interests. Consequently the most one can expect is superficial rhetoric, sporadic acts of philanthropy and perfunctory expressions of concern for the environment, whereas any genuine attempt by groups within society to introduce change is viewed as a nuisance based on romantic illusions or an obstacle to be circumvented.


What is the common good spoken of above, but that determined by the Pope of Rome to be for the good of everyone. So what is the above call, but a call for the submission of all to the Pope of Rome? The technological and financial plans of every person and nation must submit to the Church of Rome’s superior knowledge and agenda regarding all of the same. Nothing new here. Just the same old call for submission to Rome in all things. 

Here is an idea for the Vatican. Take the many billions of dollars you receive from the tax payers of various nations with or without their consent every year, and start clean up and green projects on a global scale. Then ask peoples and governments to contribute time, money, and people to the cause. Which I am sure many gladly will. Stop trying to politically control and dominate the world unto your vision, but rather lead by example and ask for support in your endeavors. You know, kind of like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did, whom you claim to represent. Then please, point all to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation of their own selves and this entire world, instead of some global political government or cooperation between the governments of this world as its salvation. Then you really could represent the Lord’s best wishes for this planet and everyone on it, instead of representing the Babylonian woman of prophetic scripture who seeks to unite all the leaders of the world under her intoxicating influence.

Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, an Argentinian, is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. In an interview with Vatican Insider, he recently said that “at this moment, those who best realize the social doctrine of the Church are the Chinese."

Sorondo told Vatican Insider that he had recently visited China, where he says he found that “they [the Chinese] seek the common good, subordinate things to the general good.”

"I found an extraordinary China; what people do not know is that the central Chinese principle is ‘work, work, work.’ ...As Paul said: ‘he who does not work, who does not eat.’ You do not have shantytowns, you do not have drugs, young people do not have drugs. There is a positive national consciousness, they want to show that they have changed, they already accept private property," he said of his trip.

The bishop said that the People’s Republic of China has “defended the dignity of the human person,” and, in the area of climate change, is “assuming a moral leadership that others have abandoned.”

Sorondo criticized the United States, where, he said, the economy dominates politics. “How is it possible that oil multinationals manage Trump,” he asked.

“Liberal thought has liquidated the concept of the common good, they do not even want to take it into account, it affirms that it is an empty idea, without any interest.” On the other hand, he said, the Chinese propose work and the common good. 

The bishop said that “China is evolving very well,” adding that “you can not think that the China of today is the China [during the pontificate of] John Paul II or the Russia of the Cold War.”

In October 2017, the US Congressional-Executive Commission on China criticized the country’s human rights practices.

The commission condemned “the Chinese government and Communist Party’s continued efforts to silence dissent, criminalize activities of human rights lawyers, control civil society, suppress religious activity, and restrict the operations of foreign media outlets, businesses, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) over the past 12 months.”

“Nothing good happens in the dark,” Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) said in an October statement on China. “That is why the Administration should shine a light on the Chinese government’s failures to abide by universal standards, shine a light on the cases of tortured and abused political prisoners, shine a light on China’s unfair trade practices and still coercive population control policies.”

WASHINGTON — The annual Jesuit student takeover of Capitol Hill this week brought more than the usual fiery spirit for social justice into the halls of Congress, as the teens and young adults hand-delivered a petition on behalf of tens of thousands of Catholics nationwide in support of a Senate bill that would force federal action to address climate change.

The 22nd Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (Nov. 16-18), organized by the Ignatian Solidarity Network, drew more than 2,000 students from Jesuit high schools and colleges to the Washington, D.C., area to pray and work together toward addressing injustice and inequality in their world.

On the final day, many of them flocked to congressional offices, equipped with talking points and proposals on immigration reform and environmental justice for their elected officials. In tow were also copies of a petition signed by more than 58,000 people urging their senators to support a House-passed bill requiring the president to create a plan to meet the U.S. commitment under the Paris Agreement.

The petition effort was a joint initiative by Ignatian Solidarity Network and Catholic Climate Covenant.

The International Climate Accountability Act would give the White House 120 days to submit a plan to Congress to achieve the U.S. goal — reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 26-28% under 2005 levels by 2025 — and to annually update the plan. In essence, it would block a president from departing the Paris climate deal, and also prohibits using funds to withdraw from it. The House of Representatives passed its version of the bill in May.

President Donald Trump on Nov. 4 began the formal withdrawal process from the Paris Agreement. It will take effect a year later.

The lone Republican among the bill's 46 co-sponsors is Sen. Susan Collins of Maine.

The petition drive was supported by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, the Sisters of Mercy, Franciscan Action Network, the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests and the Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach.

"Climate change is already causing major suffering around the world intensifying floods and droughts and impacting food systems. Sea-levels are rising affecting millions today and future generations will suffer even more. Meanwhile, the federal government is failing to provide global leadership to protect life. This is not morally acceptable," reads sample language of a form letter addressed to senators.

During an environmental policy briefing Nov. 17, Jose Aguto, Catholic Climate Covenant associate director, said that young people represent the solution to ending partisanship in the nation, particularly on climate change.

He said the petition received support from people in all 50 states, and not just predominantly from traditionally blue ones. Florida, for instance, contributed 25,000 signatures, more than any other state. Aguto also pointed out the Catholic Climate Declaration — a separate statement backing the Paris Agreement endorsed by roughly 800 Catholic institutions — collected signatures from bishops in Alaska, Alabama, Mississippi, Wyoming, Texas and Kentucky.

Copies of the Catholic Climate Declaration were also shared with Senate offices.

Pressing for immigration reform, climate action

A delegation of roughly two dozen students from Jesuit schools in California presented the signatures and declaration to staff members for Sen. Kamala Harris during a meeting in the lobby of the Hart Senate Office Building.

While they described how wildfires in the state have interrupted their lives in direct and indirect ways, the students spent the bulk of their time pressing for a more humane immigration system.

As Jesuit students, they said, they are taught to speak up for the voiceless, and their Catholic faith holds that all people should be treated with dignity.

One by one, the students talked about their own experiences with immigration. Nearly all said they've been impacted directly or indirectly by inhumane migration policies. They addressed ICE raids across the state and the Trump administration's family separation and Remain in Mexico policies.

Oscar, a student at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose who asked that his full name not be published, came to the U.S. from Mexico when he was 4 and received DACA status in 2017. The Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program shields from deportation some immigrants who came into the country illegally as children. But now he fears for himself and his younger sister should the Supreme Court uphold the Trump administration's revoking of the program.

"It's just a fear of going back to a country I don't know," he said.

Taylor Schlicht, a junior at Xavier College Preparatory School in Palm Desert, said hearing from immigrant speakers at the Teach-In ahead of the lobby day was "refreshing," because it showed to her that the policies they want aligned with students' experiences around immigration in Southern California.

"It was nice knowing that we can make our voices heard and be a voice for the voiceless," she told NCR.........................................

On Friday, September 20, 2019, students around the world stepped out of their classrooms to unite with their global peers demanding action on climate change. The Global Climate Strike’s timing strategically comes just days before the world leaders gather for the United Nations climate summit.

In the U.S. and beyond, numerous Jesuit and other Catholic institutions, parishes, and communities joined in the strikes, some utilizing ISN’s Ignatian Carbon Challenge Climate Strike resources, designed in collaboration with the Jesuit Conference of Canada and U.S.’s Office of Justice and Ecology to assist network members as they pray, act, and advocate for climate change prioritization.

Two of the core tenets of Jesuit education are the call to help students become women and men for others and to form and educate agents of change in the world. The global climate strikes provide an educational moment within the context of world events. “We believe it is important to mark this day, using Ignatian spirituality and pedagogy as the frame for our participation,” shared Brenna Davis, ISN’s director of environmental initiatives.

The call to action of the youth-led climate strikes is particularly relevant for Jesuit institutions in light of the recently promulgated Universal Apostolic Preferences, which ask Jesuits and Ignatian ministries to look toward new horizons in the next ten years. Especially relevant to the climate strikes are the preferences that call us to “accompany the young in the creation of a hope-filled future” and “to collaborate in the care of our Common Home.” In the UAPs, General Superior Sosa states, “Young people continue opening up to the future with the hope of building a life of dignity in a reconciled world that is in harmony with the environment. It is the young who, from their perspective, can help us to understand better the epochal change that we are living and its hope-filled newness.”

Below, the ISN staff has compiled a summary of ways that network institutions and individuals have worked to live out these preferences through Global Climate Strike engagement. This listing is ongoing—tell us about your involvement here to be added to this story.

Boston College student organizations Climate Justice BC and Ecopledge of Boston College united more than 80 students from a host of student groups for a campus demonstration and march to City Hall and the Massachusetts State House, joining with a group from Boston College High School.

Brebeuf Jesuit in Indianapolis, Indianaheld a school climate strike in connection with the Global Climate Strike on their athletic fields. The event was organized by the school’s conservation club to show the importance of climate action.

The Canisius College Project Conservation Club and other members of the campus community, including Mike Hayes, director of campus ministry, used public transportation to join the Buffalo Climate Strike. Speakers included a Canisius alum and other local climate activists.

Cheverus High School participated in the Portland, Maine Climate Strike. “There is no longer a debate about climate change, too much is at stake not to take action,” said Mary King, campus minister. “Nothing the kids could have learned in school today was as important as putting faith into action with hundreds of other students in southern Maine crying out for universal climate justice and for the health of Maine’s ecosystems.”

Scores of Jesuit Missions supporters were among the thousands who took part in yesterday’s Climate Coalition rally in Westminster. They were joined by students and staff from Jesuit schools, as well as Jesuits from Britain and overseas. Jesuit Missions is one of 100 organisations that make up the Climate Coalition, which is raising concerns over the threat posed by climate change and highlighting its impact on the world’s poorest communities.

Addressing the campaigners in Farm Street Church Hall, Mayfair, before they set off, the British Jesuit Provincial, Fr Dermot Preston SJ said their primary task was to raise awareness among politicians and decision-makers in Westminster. He said it was easy to take the beauty of the natural world for granted, stressing that it was important to recognise not only threats to the environment but also opportunities to improve our relationship with it.

“Yesterday we joined thousands of people on the streets of Westminster to urge our politicians to take urgent and decisive action to tackle climate change,” said Paul Chitnis, the Director of Jesuit Missions. “They need to act both here in the UK and at the Paris meeting in December to ensure that climate change is at the forefront of the global political agenda. We owe it to the poorest people, who suffer most from the impact of global warming, and to future generations to do everything we can to build a more just and sustainable future.  We echo Pope Francis’ urgent call for a new dialogue about the future of our planet and for action on behalf of the poorest.”

Global concerns

Among those who took part in the Climate Coalition rally were students from Wimbledon College, Stonyhurst College (Lancashire) and Heythrop College, University of London. Staff from Donhead Lodge in Wimbledon, as well as the Wimbledon College Chaplain, also joined the rally. They heard George Gelber from Jesuit Missions describe them as ‘advocates’ – people who wanted to persuade others over to their argument. He reminded the pupils that many of them would be entitled to vote by the time of the next General Election and said that politicians would be impressed by the fact they were concerned about the situation facing people all over the world, not simply on their own doorsteps.

Mr Gelber highlighted three issues that lobbyists needed to raise when they met their Members of Parliament: a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the need to reduce consumption of energy and the need to retain subsidies for a more energy-efficient environment.  The rally took place the day before the publication of Pope Francis’s encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si, and in the context of the meeting of world leaders due to take place in Paris in December, when they will be discussing a global agreement to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Students of Gonzaga College SJ and Belvedere College SJ united once again in prayer and protest as part of the strike for Global Climate Action in Dublin on 20 September 2019. This included their participation at the Interdenominational Prayer Service at the Famine Memorial beside Custom House Quay and the protest of more than 10,000 people in Merrion Square. They were accompanied by staff of the Jesuit schools and the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice. The students gave feedback on the event, claiming that the Climate Strike Movement brings people of all backgrounds together and that it will continue to grow in size and influence.

According to Ms Siobhán McNamara, school librarian of Gonzaga College, the Gonzaga boys who attended the event live out the school’s values such as accompaniment and generosity of spirit. She says, “These four Second Year boys [who express their opinions below] volunteered to attend the strike to represent the school. There was a total of eight boys in this representative group and I accompanied them. The group joined the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice at an interfaith service before joining the other secondary school students to march to Leinster House.”

Ms McNamara continues: “As a Jesuit school we encourage all members of our community to be ‘men and women for and with others’. Our students and staff are protesting not only out of concern for their own futures, but also because climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable and disadvantaged communities worldwide and we want to advocate for them. We were all impressed by the size of the crowd and by how well-organised the event was. The young people taking part had made excellent posters (as from the main photo) and it is clear that they believe passionately that action has to be taken to prevent further climate chaos”.

Ciara Murphy, Environmental Justice Advocate at the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, explains why she is joining the Global Climate Strike on Friday, 20 September 2019. The protest is being led by school students who are calling on everyone to make their voice heard and demand action on the climate emergency. Ciara will be attending the Dublin event which starts at Custom House Quay at 12pm before marching to Government Buildings on Merrion Square at 12.30pm.

“I’ll be one of the thousands of people marching on Friday 20th September because I want things to change, and I want to contribute to that change. Together, as communities and a country, we need to and can do more for our environment. We need positive change, now. Climate breakdown is affecting us all, although the consequences are not shared equally.

It’s easy and understandable to feel helpless and become detached when we see environmental destruction on a scale we can’t fully comprehend, such as the recent Amazon fires. At home, the consequences may not seem as dramatic but we still feel the impact of climate chaos with extreme weather events like heatwaves and storms causing flooding and droughts becoming more frequent in recent years.

To combat this, certain individual actions and choices can make a difference but only to a point. What our individual voices are now more important than ever for, is amplifying the collective message. Together we can become a cornucopia of hope and change, demanding that governments become instruments of positive environmental policy. Real change will happen when those in power make it their priority. I’m protesting on Friday 20th to call on them to do that.

Pope Francis, in his 2015 encyclical letter Laudato Si’ urges us to care for the Earth, ‘Our Common Home’. He stresses that “Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or secondary aspect of our Christian experience.” He recognises that climate change is an environmental issue but one that does not exist in a vacuum, independent of other environmental and social problems including water shortages, loss of biodiversity, pollution, decline in the quality of the human life and the breakdown of society and global inequality. These issues need to be assessed through an integral ecology lens, examining the impacts of our interaction with the world around us.......................................... ..

As one of the most respected Jesuit educational institutions in the world, celebrating its 200-year anniversary in 2018 under the Catholic Church’s first-ever Jesuit Pope, there is perhaps no other institution as appropriate to convene a summit aimed at tackling the challenges outlined in Pope Francis’s Encyclical three years ago.

No, he is the man of sin, leading Babylon the Great to unite all the world under the intoxicating influence of the wine of her false doctrines and politics, unto its end. The realization of the papacies goals, will spell the end of this world. As her harvest approaches the reaping stage under her guidance, so too will the harvest of Christ's church approach the same in giving this world its final warning. According to the widely used “international poverty line,” people are considered to be in “extreme poverty” if they live on less than $1.90 per day or its equivalent.

In the world today, less than 10 percent of the global population lives in extreme poverty, whereas just 30 years ago (1990), some 37 percent of the world lived in extreme poverty. Two centuries ago, nearly everyone in the world lived in extreme poverty.

While in the year 1800 almost 90 percent of the world’s population subsisted on less than $1 a day, that percentage had been constantly falling, dropping below 20 percent in the year 2000 and below 10 percent in the present day.

It is not only “extreme poverty” that is falling, however. The global poverty rate has been falling across every single poverty line, whether the bar is set at $1.90 a day or $10 a day.

In his address Wednesday, the pope lamented that the per capita annual income in the world this year will be $12,000 “according to official reports.”

According to data from the World Bank, however, annual per capita income worldwide has been increasing dramatically year by year and in 2018 was $17,948. Furthermore, the World Bank reveals, global per capita income has increased by over 200 percent since 1990 and is now more than three times higher than its 1990 level of $5,498.

This does not suggest that poverty is not a problem or that poverty reduction is not a worthy and important goal. It does mean, however, that global poverty is not increasing but is decreasing rapidly. In free market economies that favor wealth creation such as the United States, “extreme poverty” has virtually been eradicated.

For example, in 2005, 78.3 percent of households living in “poverty” (by U.S. standards) had air conditioning, whereas in 1970, 36.0 percent of all households had air conditioning.

“If extreme poverty exists in the midst of wealth (also extreme) it is because we have allowed the gap to widen to become the largest in history,” the pope said. “The world’s 50 richest people have $2.2 trillion worth of assets. These fifty people alone could fund the health care and education of every poor child in the world, whether through taxes, philanthropic initiatives, or both.”

It must be acknowledged, however, that no such “gap” exists between the wealthy and the poor, since the vast majority of people live somewhere in the middle. There is not a cluster of ridiculously rich people followed by an immense mass of very poor people. The majority of people are neither very rich nor very poor.

The Pope forgot to mention no doubt, the tens if not hundreds of billions his church receives every year from tax payers of various nations without their consent. This by arrangement with politicians of these nations and not the consent of the people they claim to represent. This is besides the countless billions generated by the churches business activities and investments, not to mention the shady side of her handling of very large amounts of money all are aware of. While I certainly do not support illegal or shady tax havens for the rich removing their fare share of the burden of taxes, tax break incentives and such which can create jobs and spread some wealth around are not part of such a category. Let the Pope and Vatican lead by way of example if they wish by surrendering the many billions they receive in tax monies, and the billions they also generate in other ways directly into these government controlled poverty erasing mechanisms they speak of. If they really want everyone else to hand their wealth over for redistribution by unelected and unrepresentative officials, then let them do so first before crying about and demanding everyone else do so. Then we can go from there.

Big global government run by unelected elitist politicians controlling individual, national, and corporate wealth is most certainly not the answer for combatting poverty. The past has proved this point repeatedly when great wealth and power was in the hands of fewer people. The stats in the above article fully support this reality in the revelation of the continual drop in global poverty over the last two centuries. These stats have been concurrent to the rise and development of representative government by and for the people replacing governments based upon elitism, communism, and socialism. Which form of government was directly influenced by the Protestant Reformation in the struggle for religious freedom which by natural result spilled over into political and economic freedoms. The Holy scriptures being given back into the hands of the common people, educated them unto personal conviction, responsibility, and action. By such they broke the chains which elitist religious leaders and politicians working together had bound them with.

This is the true history of the United States of America and other nations who broke free from elitist kings, queens, popes, and bishops who retained all the wealth and power to be had in their dark ages. Since that time the US and other like minded nations have outlasted and performed various communistic and socialistic nations which abused many of their citizens and have failed them repeatedly. Nevertheless, the papacy today leans more heavily towards these political ideologies than representative government and free market society. This is not to mention her full support of such in the past, and even the Nazi party in many respects before it went full on bat poop crazy. So today, after using the United States to help topple the global influence of communist and socialist governments taking over nations filled with her adherents, she now turns on us in support of global elitist, communistic, and socialistic leaning politics. Today she praises much of the same as more in line with her social justice agenda than representative government for and by the people, and free market for the same. Nevertheless, the true results of her lefty progressive politics may be seen in many an American city which has adopted them. A vanishing middle class, and extreme wealth and or poverty. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

She will not be satisfied until all forms of government and peoples submit to her usurped authority in all things. She exists as a foreign political entity within every nation that will tolerate her presents, from within she seeks to supplant their own vision and structures of authority with hers. Within the various nations she hides behind the worlds various political ideologies, using and pitting one against the other until such can be manipulated unto the results she has had in mind all along. The nations fall for her tactics one by one. They will not identify her as the real culprit to be addressed, so they are doomed. Calling each other Nazi's, Communists, Socialists, or evil Capitalists, they destroy each other from within while the papacy waits to pick up and manipulate the pieces unto her own ends. So are the nations made drunk with the wine of her false doctrines, teachings, and politics unto eternal ruin.

The Vatican is a globalist institution, with the intended purpose of being on top of a new world order. The dissolution of existing governments, peoples, and nations is not only compatible with such designs, but beneficial to the same. Such provides excellent opportunity to step in and fill the void of authority in social order created by the same. Nor is she the only one seeking to more firmly establish herself upon the ruin of existing nations and peoples. She rose to power during the dissolution of the Roman Empire as she contributed to the same. Just as she is now rising to power in the same manner contributing to dissolving national and individual sovereignty on a global scale through wealth redistribution, mass migration, fear mongering politics of climate change, and a slew of other political maneuvers. Failing to identify and address this cancer within a nation, can certainly mean its demise. Why should the cost of eradicating poverty globally be personal and national freedom? It should not.

Perhaps the head of the Catholic Church, who condemned “the increasing use and power of air-conditioning” last week in a market-bashing encyclical, is unaware of the pioneering private company that has donated its time, energy and innovative heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment to the Vatican's most famous edifice for more than a decade.

That's right. While the pontiff sanctimoniously attacks “those who are obsessed with maximizing profits,” Carrier Corporation — a $13 billion for-profit company with 43,000 employees worldwide (now a unit of U.S.-based United Technologies Corp.) — ensures that the air in the Vatican's Sistine Chapel stays clean and cool.
Last fall, Carrier unveiled a groundbreaking HVAC system for the Vatican to help preserve Michelangelo's masterpieces against pollution caused by the estimated six million visitors who descend on the Sistine Chapel every year to see its famous frescoes.

As the company described it, their new solution “uses two Carrier AquaForce(r) 30XWV water-cooled chillers with Greenspeed(r) intelligence, each with 580 kilowatts of capacity. It leverages specially designed software and components, as well as patented, energy-saving technologies to maintain optimal climate conditions for the protection of the paintings within the chapel.” State-of-the-art intelligent controls “anticipate visitor levels and adjust its performance intuitively.” It also “delivers twice the efficiency and three times the capacity of the former system, which was built and installed by Carrier in the early 1990s.”

Here's the lesson about air-conditioning capitalists that Pope Francis fails to appreciate: Carrier's technological know-how and breakthroughs didn't just descend from the clouds. As I recount in my latest book, “Who Built That,” every perfectly chilled home, office, movie theater, mall, factory, hospital, lab and museum owes its existence to the profit-seeking pioneers of manufactured weather: Willis Carrier and Irvine Lyle.

These early 20th-century inventive giants brought air-conditioning to the market and to the masses. Willis Carrier was the scientist-tinkerpreneur whose prolific stream of experiments and epiphanies, beginning in 1902, fueled historic technological advances in heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning.

Irvine Lyle was the mechanical engineer-turned-salesman who imagined countless new commercial applications for Carrier's work — and successfully turned those ideas into a multibillion-dollar business through relentless promotion, pitches, networking, advertising and outreach.

The scientists and their core team begged, borrowed and made stock sales to friends and neighbors. Carrier even enlisted his dentist for cash to get Carrier Engineering Corporation up and running in 1915. Carrier, Lyle and five founding engineers together pitched in $32,600 in start-up funds.

The Carrier capitalists risked it all in defiance of an economic depression and amid the tumult of world war. They couldn't afford their own factory and scrounged for made-to-order parts wherever they could find them. They dug into their own pockets to cover salary shortfalls. The wealth wasn't handed to them. Carrier and Lyle, farm boys who both graduated from Cornell, drove their men hard and themselves harder.

The Carrier team sold its products to businesses, large and small, that spanned the spectrum of human needs and wants. The pope should know that in addition to sparing countless lives from death by heat wave, Carrier designed a special system for Jonas Salk that helped maintain constant temperatures in the vats where Salk's poliovirus strains grew. The Salk vaccine saved thousands of lives and spearheaded the vaccine revolution.

From Hollywood to the pharmaceutical industry to textiles to the retail industry to the military to homeowners, there isn't a sector of the American economy that Carrier and Lyle didn't help transform. Their zealous focus on helping businesses provide better products at cheaper costs resulted in the invaluable byproducts of increased health, comfort and happiness.

While the pope blames commercial enterprises and the “global market economy” for causing “environmental degradation,” it is a worldwide commercial enterprise made in America that solved the (SET (ITAL) human-caused degradation of, and environmental damage to, the Vatican's most prized art and assets.

If the pontiff truly believes “excessive consumption” of modern conveniences is causing evil “climate change,” will he be shutting down and returning the multimillion-dollar system Carrier generously gifted to the Vatican Museums?

If not, I suggest, with all due respect, that Pope Francis do humanity a favor and refrain from blowing any more hot air unless he's willing to stew in his own.

Pope Francis Is Wrong about Air Conditioning

Pope Francis’s aversion to air conditioning may be red hot, but he himself is comfortably cool.

In his encyclical Laudato Si’, published today, the pope lambasts wasteful consumerism and unchecked human economic activity as a root of climate change, singling out one product in particular for censure: the air conditioner.

“A simple example [of harmful habits of consumption] is the increasing use and power of air-conditioning,” Francis writes. “The markets, which immediately benefit from sales, stimulate ever greater demand. An outsider looking at our world would be amazed at such behavior, which at times appears self-destructive.”

But ironically, Francis probably penned his disapproval in a well-ventilated corner of his residence, Domus Sanctae Marthae, which has air conditioning.

Two years ago, Francis broke with tradition when he became the first pope since 1903 to forgo the papal apartments for newer, more modest accommodations in Domus Sanctae Marthae, an adjacent building erected in 1996 to house cardinals during papal conclaves. In line with Francis’s image as the “people’s pope,” a Vatican spokesman said the pope wanted a more “simple living arrangement.” Simple, yes, but air-conditioned.

The pope isn’t just being a tad hypocritical here – he’s being short-sighted.

Air conditioning is an exemplar of modern ingenuity, but it’s also a mechanical thermoregulatory product that’s often put to conservative ends — for instance to preserve important artifacts of the past. In fact, right next to the air-conditioned Domus Sanctae Marthae is the Vatican Secret Archives, which conserves invaluable documents spanning millennia by controlling the microclimate in which they are housed.

And next door to the Archives is the Sistine Chapel, where just a year ago the Vatican installed a new air-conditioning system to preserve the deteriorating, centuries-old frescoes while accommodating existing tourist traffic. Director of Vatican Museums Antonio Paolucci wrote in the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano that officials had to either limit access to the chapel in order to reduce the amount of dust and carbon dioxide brought in from the outside or find a technological solution. The Vatican’s decision to do the latter, according to Paolucci, allowed the Sistine Chapel “to breathe again.”


More valuable than a tool to preserve objects, of course, air conditioning is a tool to preserve lives. Two years ago, the National Bureau of Economic Research published a study concluding that air conditioning reduced heat-related deaths in the United States by 80 percent and could save even more lives in hotter, often poorer countries. A/C is an especially promising life-saving technology given the potential effects of climate change, the authors contend. “The typical Indian experiences 33 days annually where the temperature exceeds 90 degrees fahrenheit and this is projected to increase by as much as 100 days by the end of the century.”

Air conditioning also increases labor productivity and preserves capital stock, which has crucial implications for developing economies — and sweltering NR interns (@JackFowler). Jokes aside, another study published by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that labor productivity peaks at 65 degrees fahrenheit and decreases by around 15 percent every time the temperature rises by 10 degrees. Climate-control technology is also needed, the authors argue, to preserve textile threads, paper, and machinery.

Pope Francis’s words  carry moral weight. If he’d like to help industrializing populations that benefit the most from air conditioning, he should find a different crusade.

In the meantime, economic powers continue to justify the current global system where priority tends to be given to speculation and the pursuit of financial gain, which fail to take the context into account, let alone the effects on human dignity and the natural environment. Here we see how environmental deterioration and human and ethical degradation are closely linked. Many people will deny doing anything wrong because distractions constantly dull our consciousness of just how limited and finite our world really is. As a result, “whatever is fragile, like the environment, is defenceless before the interests of a deified market, which become the only rule”.


There are of course and have been examples of that described above throughout history and at present. Which most certainly should be addressed. The answer however does not lie within a mere transference of power from greedy corporations or individuals, to greedy or power hungry politicians with global designs. This would simply be moving from a deified market, to a deified elitist global government. History has proved the indiscriminate nature of the corrupting influence of power and wealth. To much power and wealth in the hands of to few people, corrupts motives and arouses instinctive defensive measures to protect and maintain such power and wealth. Religious and political leaders whether acting independently or together have historically been the corrupted powers fighting tooth and nail to maintain their wealth and dominant positions. The answer does not include a renewed global political system combining church or religion and state once again.

To the contrary, the answer lies within truly biblical concepts of personal responsibility and accountability to God, not other fallen human beings or institutions of the same. A well educated, responsible, and self disciplined people alone, can maintain personal freedom and proper government at the same time. Nothing can effect such a state of existence, as well as the gospel of Jesus Christ and the moral truths and standards proscribed in the holy scriptures. The history of these United States being a testament to the same, being largely established upon Protestant biblical principles of liberty and justice. Not a perfect society, but one filled with people holding to the high moral standards of the scriptures as their guide. While the nation had many hard lessons to learn in continuing to meet that high standard, it did move forward according to the same. Nevertheless, as that standard has been increasingly abandoned, the nation decays from within.

The answer to this dilemma is most certainly not to step back into the dark ages on a global scale by reuniting the church of the dark ages with the politics of this present world unto global governance. A global government called for by said church to address issues of her own creation or choosing unto extreme power and wealth for her and her minions deliberating and executing the same. Which agenda as anyone who cares to pay attention can see, tends towards the sacrifice of freedoms, rights, wealth, and power of all save these religious and political globalists themselves. Who of course must maintain all of the same in order to run and enforce their own agenda. Thus bringing societies back to the preferred two class systems they ruled in the past. Clergy and Nobles, laymen and peasants.

This is what the false and apostate system of “Christianity” calls for in unity with the other religions and leaders in and of this world, in order to save it. The Vatican fact-checkers blew that one.

The theory that life systems on the world are all interconnected is a well-established one. But that doesn't mean that a virus, originally found in bats, has anything to do with whatever stress is being placed on life on earth because the climate may be changing.

The coronavirus does not live outside the body. It does not interact with any other life form except the human or animal it's living in. It can survive outside the human body for several days, making it extremely contagious, but it doesn't interact with the air or water in our surroundings. In short, there is no evidence that climate change had anything to do with the creation or transmission of this virus.

I guess the pope thought he'd be laughed off the stage if he said it was "God's response" to climate change, or that God is trying to tell us something about climate. But giving sentience to "nature" is appallingly stupid.

President Christian Krieger signed on behalf of the CEC members.

Not only did these two Presidents sign a “solidarity” document representing Catholics and Protestants, they also traveled to the Vatican to receive the Pope’s blessing. This is a day of mourning for the successors of the Reformation because today’s Protestants are embracing serious theological errors. The entire religious and political world is congregating in Rome to coordinate their operations as predicted by prophecy:

“These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Revelation 17:13.

As the coronavirus pandemic spreads across Europe, churches are rapidly uniting with the Vatican. The response has been to try to change the religious landscape by showing solidarity, love and unity with all religions. This is what Rome wants and it does not matter that the end justifies the means, even if it is through pandemics. Rome never lets a crisis go to waste without capitalizing on it because prophecy tells us that she will become the greatest religious superpower in the last days:

Rome is being restored to all its former glory. Under the reign of the Antichrist, no one will be allowed to overshadow the authority of the Papacy. During this season of unprecedented fear and hysteria, the religious world has joined Rome for peace and unity. This is happening thanks to interfaith fellowship and worship. Ecumenical commitments will continue to increase throughout the world by all the world’s religions:

Many will see this as a wonderful step in the right direction. But inspiration reveals to us that this false unity and hope is being built upon rebellion and transgression to God’s moral law and will only lead to more terror and confusion:

Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. The end is very near. We live in dangerous times. Our world is changing rapidly, and the coronavirus has shown us how quickly things can deteriorate in an instant. Those who conspire to implement tyranny would love to keep God’s people imprisoned and locked up so that the third angel’s message is not shared. The good news is that during this time of crisis, God is still in control! He will work in a supernatural way so that His people can fulfill their divinely appointed work:

“The opposition of the enemies of truth will be restrained that the third angel’s message may do its work” (Great Controversy, p. 610).

Once you understand the globalist mindset, almost everything they do becomes rather robotic and predictable.  It should not be surprising that the World Health Organization (WHO), a branch of the United Nations, has been so aggressive in cheerleading for the Chinese government and its response to the coronavirus outbreak.
 
After all, China's communist surveillance state model is a beta test for the type of centralization that the UN wants for the entire planet. They certainly aren't going to point out that it was China's totalitarian system that allowed the outbreak to spread from the very beginning.

Even now Xi Jinping is trying to rewrite history, claiming that he had been swift in responding to the crisis more than a month before he actually did.  The lie that the coronavirus mutated naturally in a food and animal market in Wuhan continues to be peddled by the mainstream media even though no evidence supporting this claim exists. 

And China is still releasing rigged death and infection numbers while they have over 600 million people under martial law lockdown and their crematoriums continue pumping out the fumes of the dead 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Brave health workers like Li Wenliang, who was punished by the government for warning about the virus in December, have died in the process of trying to fight against the centralized behemoth just to get vital information to the world, but that never happened, right?

It was actually president Xi and the CPC that saved the day. The WHO and the CPC say so. You'll never hear the UN praise the efforts of Li Wenliang; they want his name to disappear down the memory hole as much as the Chinese government does.

The developing narrative is a familiar one - Local officials "stifled" the response to the outbreak while the centralized national leadership put things back on track with extreme control measures that have turned the Hubei province into a veritable internment camp.

Whatever you do, don't point out that it was the national government's habit of imprisoning health officials that release "false information" that led to the delayed reaction on the coronavirus.

Also, don't point out that ground zero for the outbreak is just down the road from the largest Level 4 Biohazard Lab in Asia, because that would make you a "conspiracy theorist".

The message being pounded into the public consciousness is clear: "Shut up and accept that Centralization works". Even when it fails miserably, it is still the answer to all our problems. All we have to do is "adjust" the historical record a little bit every time the system breaks and then institute even MORE centralization in response.

In other words, if the interdependent and draconian top-down structure of the globalist state leads to crisis, then it is because it was not centralized ENOUGH. Centralization always begets more centralization.

The financial fascist system of central banking and corporate oligarchy leads to the socialist welfare state, and the socialist welfare state leads to the surveillance state, the surveillance state leads to the martial law state, and the martial law state leads to full-on global governance; an endless elitist empire.

The failings of centralization have caused numerous problems long before it led to a potential pandemic. The pandemic simply clarifies the issue. For example, the breakdown in the global supply chain is becoming a bigger threat by the day.  The Baltic Dry Index a measure of shipping rates as well as global demand for goods, has essentially collapsed. 

This should have been the first warning sign that the supply chain was in trouble, but the mainstream doesn't pay attention to the fundamentals, only stock markets.  Enter Apple, one of the largest companies in the world, which has now abandoned its projections for 2020 and finally admitted that the shutdown of Chinese factories may just be a problem.

Some mentally challenged people out there are scoffing sarcastically at this issue, saying "Oh no, whatever will we do without iPhones...?".  They don't grasp the wider implications.  If Apple's production is going down because of the supply chain disruption then this is a signal that multiple companies and most of the economy are also going down because of supply chain disruptions. It's not about iPhones, it's about the bigger picture.

Globalism has led to interdependent economies and nation states that no longer have redundancies in production. We have been forced to rely on production centers on the other side of the world for a vast majority of our goods.

When China shuts down, the US economy loses almost 20% of its supply chain. When Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam shut down from the virus, you can add another 10% to 15% on top of that. Retailers in the US represent around 70% of GDP. Cut off the supply chain in Asia and retailers lose a vast array of goods to sell. The US economy eventually shuts down also, even if the virus never spreads here.

Some people will argue that we don't need all the "cheap plastic crap" from Asia anyway, and this situation is a "good thing". Sorry to break it to you, but America's economy is built on the selling of cheap plastic crap (along with the selling of the fiat dollar as the world reserve currency).

Walmart (Chinamart if you discount agricultural products) is the largest employer in the US and the world, after all. Right or wrong, our economic system is so globalized that the fall of the Chinese dominoes will eventually knock down our own dominoes.

But when this disaster occurs and numerous national economies suffer from enforced globalist integration, guess what will happen next? The globalists will ride to our "rescue" with even greater centralization. This was their agenda all along.

Many people in the liberty movement are now aware of the Event 201 simulation, a war game run by globalists in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Economic Forum on a "theoretical" coronavirus pandemic that kills 65 million people.

This simulation took place only a couple of months before the real thing exploded in China in December. But hey, maybe that's all just amazing coincidence.

What concerns me even more is the solution that was presented at the end of Event 201 - the creation of a centralized global financial body that would manage the international response to the outbreak.

Isn't it amazing how every major catastrophe caused by globalism seems to lead to more globalism? One might start to wonder if some of these events were triggered by incompetence, or if they were deliberately engineered.

At the very least, crisis events have been allowed to fester unchecked by organizations like the WHO as they continue to write off the coronavirus as a non-issue that is "well under control" by a Chinese government that caused it to spread in the first place.

So here is what is going to happen next:

Best case scenario is that the Western world is mostly unscathed by the virus itself but the economic supply chain suffers major setbacks. The global economy, which was already crashing over the past year due to historic levels of corporate and consumer debt, not to mention faltering exports and freight, is finally tipped over the edge.

The massive Everything Bubble, fueled by a decade of inflationary central bank stimulus, implodes. Governments respond with totalitarian measures in the name of "protecting the public".

Globalist institutions like the IMF step in and suggest that frail national monetary systems come under the management of their Special Drawing Rights basket in order to mitigate the debt crisis. Essentially, this is the first step to global governance.

Worst case scenario, the virus spreads throughout the US and Europe and governments respond the same way China's government has; martial law and full-blown concentration camp culture. This would lead to civil war in the US because we are armed and many people will shoot anyone trying to put us into quarantine camps. Europe is mostly screwed.

The establishment then suggests that paper money be removed from the system because it is a viral spreader. China is already pushing this solution now. Magically, we find ourselves in a cashless society in a matter of a year or two; which is what the globalists have been demanding for years. Everything goes digital, and thus even local economies become completely centralized as private trade dies.

Again, this might be an engineered event, or it might simply be that the globalists are exploiting a natural outbreak. Either way, they are not going to let a good crisis go to waste. Whether or not they succeed is dependent on several factors, but mostly, its dependent on us.

How many people will buy into the notion that centralization is the answer to out problems? How many people will realize that centralization is the CAUSE of all our problems? And how many people will fight to prevent ultimate centralization under a psychopathic globalist cult?

A viral outbreak is a significant danger to us all, but an even greater threat is the supposed cure. Trading our economic and social freedom in the name of stopping the coronavirus?  No matter how deadly the bug, it's just not worth it.

Communists would “come out to defend the poor,” and Zen believes this may have caused Francis to have natural sympathy for these communists. But Zen says that Francis does not know them as the “persecutors they become once in power, like the Communists in China.”

Catholic author and commentator Phil Lawler agreed with Zen’s assessment. “Dealing with Beijing is dangerous, because they’re determined to control the Church,” Lawler told the DCNF.

“Cardinal Parolin was given a mandate by the Pope to get a deal done. So he shut out those (like Zen) who voiced reservations that would slow progress toward a deal,” the author explained.

“Pope Francis wants the Catholic Church to operate freely in China, which will be possible only if the regime allows it. He’s willing to sacrifice doctrinal clarity — something that’s never been important to him — toward that end. So that’s what is happening now. The Catholics who cling to doctrine are being suppressed; the regime is getting what it wants.”

Lawler warns that Francis’s dealings with China are yet another illustration of how Pope Francis will not tolerate dissidence.

The true intentions and motives of the Vatican are plain and simple for all who care to do so, to see. She is a master manipulator, willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top. It is no surprise that her own doctrines should be effected by the same as well. A unity of humanity which our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ never called for, is what she seeks to establish, because such being orchestrated by her would entail herself at the top of the same. So be it.

Giving these people free money would “acknowledge and dignify the noble, essential tasks you carry out,” he further wrote.

“It would ensure and concretely achieve the ideal, at once so human and so Christian, of no worker without rights,” Francis ultimately declared.

Because of rapid technological advances in production and other tasks that are making actual human labor obsolete, many are being left behind, is Francis’ take on the situation. Thus, the time is ripe to implement a new world order where people are taken care of by their benevolent governments, apparently.

“I hope that this time of danger will free us from operating on automatic pilot, shake our sleepy consciences and allow a humanist and ecological conversion that puts an end to the idolatry of money and places human life and dignity at the center,” Francis contends.

“Our civilization – so competitive, so individualistic, with its frenetic rhythms of production and consumption, its extravagant luxuries, its disproportionate profits for just a few – needs to downshift, take stock, and renew itself.”

You’ve got to admit that Pope Francis has a way with words. He knows how to inject just the right amount of Christian-sounding verbiage into his lofty diatribes about social justice and doing away with free-market capitalism, which is something he’s been pushing for many years now.

Keep in mind that Francis incorporated these same things into his actual Easter message, which complemented this letter he wrote to social justice warriors everywhere who believe that the duty of the state is to take care of them by providing free money for survival.

By all appearances, Francis is the false prophet spoken about in the book of Revelation who’s leading his followers astray and herding them straight into the new world order. His promises of a Utopian future built upon free money from the government is the same message coming from the likes of two-time failed presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who also opposes free markets.

At some point, all of this is going to converge into a new world religion, which will require worship of the beast, a part of which will be mandatory acceptance of microchip vaccinations and total herd tracking. Such chips will also be necessary in order to buy and sell, or to receive the UBI paychecks that Francis is demanding.

Beware of anything that sounds too good to be true because it probably is. And in this case, it will come with plenty of strings attached, including the requirement that a person sell his soul in exchange for everything being promised in the name of fairness, equality, decency and goodness.

Documents leaked to the Times showed that this campaign of repression was organized after President Xi Jinping urged party leaders to show “absolutely no mercy” and to employ the “organs of dictatorship.”

The system by which detainees are selected combines big data with big brother. As the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists put it, “Chinese police are guided by a massive data collection and analysis system that uses artificial intelligence to select entire categories of Xinjiang residents for detention.”

Of course, the existence of such camps—among many other abuses—had already been reported when Sanchez Sorondo made his statement. At the time, Bernardo Cervellera, a China expert and head of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions' news service, proposed that the bishop “read the daily news tracking violence, arrests of Christians, Muslims, Buddhists.”

“All the unofficial churches have been closed and at least 6 million Catholics have no meeting places,” Cervellera said. “The threat of the regime that ‘best implements the Churches’ social doctrine’ is arrest, stratospheric fines and expropriation of the buildings where the faithful gather.”

How could a high-ranking Catholic, the leader of a pontifical academy, praise such a regime? It is not mere naivete. Sanchez Sorondo’s statement exemplifies the way in which defenses of the “common good” sometimes slip into apologias for authoritarianism. It is important to challenge these statements, because they misunderstand the common good utterly.

In 1943, Charles de Koninck, a Thomist philosopher, wrote an essay against some of the more liberal and individualist strains in Catholic thought. De Koninck believed that certain Catholic thinkers sympathetic to liberal society had a deficient idea of the common good. He rejected their views, but he warned that rejecting liberalism in the name of the common good could never mean embracing tyranny.

“Would it suffice to exalt the primacy of the common good?” he wrote. “Not at all. Totalitarian regimes seize on the common good as a pretext for enslaving persons in the most ignoble fashion. Compared to the slavery to which they threaten to reduce us, the servitude of the beasts is liberty. Shall we commit the cowardice of conceding to totalitarians this perversion of the common good?”

De Koninck rightly worried that false invocations of the common good by totalitarian regimes would do more to discredit the notion of the common good than any argument by those who rejected it explicitly. He therefore criticized not just liberalism—the target of Sanchez Sorondo’s polemics—but the oppressive regimes falsely presented as its alternative.

According to de Koninck, liberals and totalitarians shared certain errors. Both groups opposed state and individual. Liberals glorified the individual at the expense of the state; totalitarians glorified the state at the expense of the individual. By opposing the common good to the good of individual persons, they destroyed a correct understanding of each.


But the connection between liberalism and totalitarianism went even deeper. Liberals tend to think that man is freest when unbound by any law. Totalitarians seem to reject this idea, but in fact they simply embrace it on another plane. Rather than seeking to liberate the individual from all constraints, they seek to liberate the state. The totalitarian state is unbound by God’s law. It need not make any reference to man’s final end, his highest good. It can do what it wants, how it wants. Precisely like the liberal individual.

In such societies, de Koninck wrote, “obedience is substituted for the legal justice of the citizen subjects.” Men do not participate in a shared end as citizens. They are simply forced to submit.

Across the world, liberalism is in retreat. Drawing on the World Values Survey, Roberto Foa and Yascha Mounk have found that “citizens are growing more disaffected with established political parties, representative institutions, and minority rights.” For example, whereas 41 percent of older Americans believe it is “absolutely essential” that “civil rights protect people’s liberty,” only 32 percent of millennials agree.

As people turn away from liberalism, it is important that they do not turn to ideologies that share with liberalism a fundamental mistake. If they do, Catholics must state clearly that the common good is not a euphemism for tyranny, and oppression is not a synonym for order. Counter to what Sanchez Sorondo seems to believe, neither China nor America is a model society.

The above article properly addresses the pitfalls on either side of the common good ideology, coming to a wrong conclusion however, while defending this Roman Catholic created or adopted doctrine. Pointing out the failures of unchecked individualism or statism in connection with Roman Catholic notions of the common good in relation to her social justice agenda, is simply to declare superiority for the latter. The obvious answer suggested to the dilemma created by either unchecked individual liberty, or unchecked power of the state over the same, is control or heavy influence over both by the guiding force of the common good as interpreted by Roman Catholic social doctrine. That is to say, the Church above the individual and the state. That is to say, the reestablishment of the dark ages all over again.

The wrong conclusion of the article above was in stating that these United States of America were and are not the correct model of the ideology of a common good. Our Declaration of Independence and Constitution are exactly that. Which principles allowed for a continued evolution of liberty and justice for all individuals to be freed from political, religious, and or racial injustices as the history of our nation has demonstrated. Biblical principles of self government and equality for those willing to govern first and foremost their own lives, enabling them then to properly govern themselves together as a society built upon such freedom of responsibility. As is obvious, only the personally educated and responsible, either deserve or can maintain individual freedoms and liberties. Those who refuse to govern their own selves must therefore be governed by others.

The false narrative of this nations history being passed off as the truth today, is all about creating misinformed ignorance and a mindset of dependency prepared to be ruled over by supposed elites. Who themselves are nothing but power hungry self important people who want to control and manipulate the lives of all around them. The Roman Catholic church and her Pontiff are not the least of these individuals and or institutions who have been battling our form of government for a long time now, many fully supporting if not straight up creating the false historical narratives about our nation which are now passed off as the truth upon an increasingly ignorant people by exact design and purpose. The Church of Rome simply seeks to rise again to the pinnacle of power she once had while in bed with the kings of this earth during the dark ages, under a new guise with new political ideologies and structures on a global scale. The first couple of paragraphs of our Declaration of Independence however, reveal the true intent of our founding fathers, and the baseless deception of the false narrative of our history adopted by the true enemies of any real common good. This nation became great under God's guidance because of this true agenda of common good which encouraged people from the world over to seek refuge in our nation and still does to this very day. These people are not stupid, they want to come here for a good reason. How unfortunate that so many from within and without have been and continue to seek to destroy what is left of this nation built upon such high and lofty principles. If you believe the above ideals to represent evil intentions of government, then you are simply ignorant or perhaps evil yourself. So be it.

If in fact the government established by such ideals expressed above in that establishment has become to corrupt to any longer support, then the answer does not lie in support of already proven failed systems of abuse, but rather the reestablishment of the ideals expressed above which brought this nation to the greatness it once possessed and represented. The answer most certainly does not lie within the establishment or reestablishment of historically abusive institutions of government and or religion such as communism, socialism, facism, or the likes of the Holy Roman Empire. We absolutely should not be looking to present day leaders of these kind of governing bodies to fix the corruption of our own nation, but rather to reestablish the high ideals it was founded upon as expressed in our own founding documents. Do not be deceived by those who have always warred against our most "Christian"  and biblically based form of government ever established. It is the freedoms and liberties espoused by the same, that also require us to be ever educated and on guard against the deceptions of those who would overthrow such in seeking to exalt their own power over all others. All the epithets I have here given to the Romish policy are just, and will be allowed to be so when it is considered, that they even persuaded mankind to believe, faithfully and undoubtingly, that God Almighty had entrusted them with the keys of heaven, whose gates they might open and close at pleasure; with a power of dispensation over all the rules and obligations of morality; with authority to license all sorts of sins and crimes; with a power of deposing princes and absolving subjects from allegiance; with a power of procuring or withholding the rain of heaven and the beams of the sun; with the management of earthquakes, pestilence, and famine; nay, with the mysterious, awful, incomprehensible power of creating out of bread and wine the flesh and blood of God himself. All these opinions they were enabled to spread and rivet among the people by reducing their minds to a state of sordid ignorance and staring timidity, and by infusing into them a religious horror of letters and knowledge. But another event still more calamitous to human liberty, was a wicked confederacy between the two systems of tyranny above described. It seems to have been even stipulated between them, that the temporal grandees should contribute every thing in their power to maintain the ascendency of the priesthood, and that the spiritual grandees in their turn, should employ their ascendency over the consciences of the people, in impressing on their minds a blind, implicit obedience to civil magistracy.

Please do find and finish reading the above by John Adams. Go back and read what the founders of this nation really believed, and what the Reformers who inspired many of them believed. The Papacies non stop calls for universal religion and government on a global scale under her own guidance relating to a common good, are nothing but a ploy to reestablish the power she once had on a global scale. The lefty progressives and other globalists of today are just so many willing or unknowing minions of her own design unto the exaltation of her own vision for humanity. Which vision is nothing less than the vision of BABYLON THE GREAT, riding the final global beast or government of biblical prophecy. The tower of Babel was destroyed by God, and humanity was dispersed to prevent universal rebellion against God unto global destruction once again. The final unification of humanity as envisioned by the Church of Rome, will be the realization of this very universal rebellion against God in the building of a spiritual tower of Babel in defiance of the same. God divided us for a reason, the evil one alone desires our unity under his control through his agents unto our destruction once again. We must fight the good fight against this final deception. Christ's true church can never become one with the prince of the powers that be of this world, most of whom deny His rightful authority over them.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, billionaire and former presidential candidate Tom Steyer, and myriad eco-leftists—should be mildly, if not outwardly, pleased.

Don’t come to their defense, with claims like, “The Green New Deal is meant to help the environment and battle climate change!” Listen, I don’t make value judgements on intentionality, Kant. So, don’t @ me with what the Green New Deal was “meant” to do. Let’s talk like grownups about what it would actually do.

The Green New Deal’s call “to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions” is a nicer way of saying “ban the combustion engine.” Sure, that’s your car and the family minivan, but it’s also the lawn mower and leaf blower. You have any recreational toys like jet skis? Gone. Boats? Gone. ATVs, RVs, all gone. Four golfers and their clubs can putt around 18-holes in an electric cart. Try hauling the family over the hills and through the woods to grandma’s house in one.

You know what industry is only economically viable because of the relatively inexpensive combustion engine? The travel industry. And the coronavirus is crushing it. CNN declared the coronavirus is doing the same thing to airlines as 9/11 did. Their stocks are down 30 percent since the panic began. The cruise industry is getting slammed even worse: bookings are down 50 percent, and Carnival Cruise, the largest in the industry, has seen its stock price fall from $51 to $23 in just six weeks.

Good news for the green community, right? Tourism was killing the planet! Climate change apostles have long scolded us for tourism, which “studies show” is responsible for 8 percent of carbon emissions. Even U.S. News and World report breathlessly tells us tourism’s carbon footprint has increased from 3.9 to 4.5 gigatons. Wow: 4.5 gigatons!

To inaccurately quote (like an MSNBC anchor) Marty McFly in “Back to the Future”: what the hell is a gigaton? Doesn’t matter, and the article doesn’t really explain. But you’ve increased it 0.6 amounts. I hope your trip to Mykonos was worth the environmental Armageddon.

If you believe tourism is killing the planet — and by logical deduction that ending tourism would save it — so deeply that you would introduce legislation to achieve this end, then coronavirus is a blessing.

Beyond tourism, I haven’t even touched on the hundreds of other commercial enterprises that run on combustion engines. Trains. Trucking. Trans-Atlantic cargo ships. That gadget you bought on Amazon yesterday: odds are it was manufactured overseas in a factory powered by coal, shipped to some west coast port or a tanker that runs on diesel, put on a train to a Bezos sweatsho—err, “fulfillment center” powered by coal or natural gas electricity, and will arrive tomorrow at your front door in a gas-powered UPS truck.

You think that gadget will still be affordable without fossil fuels? From your smartphone where you bought it to the synthetic sneakers of the man who stole it from your front door, every step of the Amazon life cycle is fossil-fuel dependent.

“Nonsense!” the greenies will scream. “Electric engines work fine!” Well, partly true, but when our electric grid is made, “green” electricity bills will double or triple under the fiscal boondoggle of renewables. Currently, fossil-fuel-rich Americans pay an average of 12 cents per kilowatt hour in an average household. The “green” Germans pay 33 cents. Wunderbar! That’s something to look forward to.

You think there won’t be negative social repercussions with electric bills three times as high? We need only look at our older brother, England, to see what will happen: old people die. Skyrocketing electricity costs in the United Kingdom brought about by its green mandates have left seniors quite literally in the cold. Caroline Abrahams, director of the charity Age UK, made the connection clearly: “because high heating costs are prohibitive for many, resulting in large numbers of older people finding it virtually impossible to stay adequately warm.”

Two winters ago, 46,000 British seniors died from the cold. In their homes. Which they could not afford to heat, because England went “green.” Forty. Six. Thousand. And it barely got a mention in the press.

That’s also not some third world, primitive country. That’s this earth, this realm, this England, which watched it happen.

What else has high numbers of old people dying? Winner, winner, chicken-flavored tofu dinner (meat is banned under the Green New Deal): coronavirus! From China to Italy to here at home, older people are at a greater risk of—well, let’s not say “death,” let’s say “reducing the population to save the planet.”

So once again coronavirus is accomplishing the same ends as the Green New Deal. And it didn’t even need a vote in Congress. It’s as powerful as Barack Obama’s pen.

Green activists want to be judged by their intentions. When they destroyed the coal industry with help from Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency and Mike Bloomberg’s $650 million tax-deductible donation, their intention was to combat climate change. In reality, their combined efforts gave coal miners opioid addictions, increased suicide rates, and rampant poverty. Those facts didn’t make it into Bloomberg’s ubiquitous campaign ads.

That is the future of energy workers if the Green New Deal were to become law: ghost towns where people once sunk their savings into a now worthless mortgage. Abandoned main streets. Institutional poverty. Despair.

But the green activists don’t fret these casualties. Grandma freezing to death is a necessary offering on the altar of climate change. These are the necessary means to accomplish the Greta ends. Sorry, GREAT ends. Don’t know why I wrote Greta…

Unless you think you will be immune, just watch the markets. Watch the economy. Watch the millions who work in hospitality, restaurants, airlines, and energy. Watch the coronavirus crisis intensify and a recession come. Watch entire industries collapse.

Sure, they will demand Trump be held responsible and maybe even call for congressional hearings to stem the unemployment crisis. Nothing makes congressmen feel more potent than sitting in high-backed chairs and feigning indignation reading a script prepared by an intern.

But deep down inside, in a warped sense of justice where math, economics, physics, and logic have no home, the greens will rejoice. Earth is more important than its inhabitants. And people are a disease.

Fewer gigatons of something are being released. Fewer engines are combusting. Fewer factories are manufacturing. Fewer people are working. And that is the goal of the Green New Deal, whatever they claim as their intention.

Coronavirus is a glimpse of the long-term pain a Green New Deal and environmental radicalism would inflict on America. And besides, grandma would die eventually anyway.

Good article addressing some straight forward facts. Of course as usual, the true author of the Green New Deal, the Pope of Rome and his papal minions and politicians attempting to implement the same are not addressed at all. Papal hands are all over the Green New Deal, Coved-19, and the W.H.O. Of course for any who care to actually pay attention, papal hands seem to be  increasingly all over almost everything. As it will have to be, for any serious contender for top seat in the global order.

On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis sent a letter to leaders of social movements promoting “structural changes” to the “economy of exclusion and inequality.” Among other things, he encouraged these activists to use the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity to spur radical change and launch a “humanistic and ecological conversion.” He also endorsed the idea of a universal basic income (UBI), championed by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Pope Francis addressed his letter to the World Meeting of Popular Movements (WMPM), an alliance of Roman Catholic Church leadership and “grassroots organizations working to address the ‘economy of exclusion and inequality’ by working for structural changes that promote social, economic and racial justice.” In the letter, the pope argues that these activists are “invisible to the system. Market solutions do not reach the peripheries, and State protection is hardly visible there.” Rather than encouraging philanthropy to reach these peripheries, Francis writes to encourage “you who are looked upon with suspicion when through community organization you try to move beyond philanthropy or when, instead of resigning and hoping to catch some crumbs that fall from the table of economic power, you claim your rights.”

In this context, Francis endorses a UBI. “I know that you have been excluded from the benefits of globalization. You do not enjoy the superficial pleasures that anesthetize so many consciences, yet you always suffer from the harm they produce,” he argues. “Street vendors, recyclers, carnies, small farmers, construction workers, dressmakers, the different kinds of caregivers: you who are informal, working on your own or in the grassroots economy, you have no steady income to get you through this hard time … and the lockdowns are becoming unbearable. This may be the time to consider a universal basic wage which would acknowledge and dignify the noble, essential tasks you carry out. It would ensure and concretely achieve the ideal, at once so human and so Christian, of no worker without rights.”

This tepid support for UBI grabbed headlines — and it got Yang’s attention.

“Wow. Pope Francis today: ‘This may be the time to consider a universal basic wage.’ Game-changing,” Yang tweeted with a “praying hands” emoji.

Yet Pope Francis does not stop with the support for a UBI. He suggested the coronavirus crisis should be an opportunity for broader structural change.

“I hope that this time of danger will free us from operating on automatic pilot, shake our sleepy consciences and allow a humanist and ecological conversion that puts an end to the idolatry of money and places human life and dignity at the centre,” the pope’s letter continues. “Our civilization — so competitive, so individualistic, with its frenetic rhythms of production and consumption, its extravagant luxuries, its disproportionate profits for just a few — needs to downshift, take stock, and renew itself.”

Pope Francis is partially right: the coronavirus crisis should encourage introspection and it should spur Christians on to further acts of charity. It should encourage leaders to think of new ways to help people.

However, the coronavirus is not a reason to reject the free market. While capitalism does run on the desire to make money, it channels selfish desires to productive ends. Over the last two hundred years, the free market system has unleashed monumental progress in living standards. The global network of trade allows Americans to buy products from around the world, as new technologies — developed in pursuit of the filthy lucre Pope Francis rightly condemns — enable them to heat and cool their homes, preserve and heat food, enjoy running water, access reams and reams of information and entertainment, and more.

Pope Francis condemns these true tangible benefits as “superficial pleasures,” and compared to the promise of eternal life with God, they are. But the material progress is not to be dismissed. The true grinding poverty of the sort our ancestors knew two hundred years ago has been relegated to the fringes — and it is disappearing even there. Even in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, the internet has enabled churches to hold virtual services — something unimaginable one hundred years ago.

This system of wealth creation faces many threats, but few are as dire as the climate alarmist movement. Legislation like the Green New Deal, pushed in the name of saving the climate from a disaster that persistently fails to occur, would seriously undermine the market system and create an overbearing government apparatus to pick winners and losers. In a free market, consumers tend to buy the cheapest option, but they also shift their purchases in pursuit of other goals like sustainability. Many businesses are already pursuing practices that leave a smaller carbon footprint and both clean technologies like nuclear energy and cleaner greenhouse gases are already shrinking emissions.

Yet Pope Francis has reportedly tried to blame carbon emissions for the coronavirus crisis, suggesting the virus is nature’s response to bad environmental stewardship.

The pontiff’s fears about capitalism are correct in one respect. Christians should not be at home in this world, and we need to work to help others in as many ways as we can. The free market harnesses greed to productive ends, encouraging people to add value to society in exchange for money. Yet workers and entrepreneurs are not just driven by greed — and the wealthy in a capitalist system often reinvest their wealth, either in their businesses or in a burgeoning philanthropic sector that is constantly finding new ways to help the poor.

The free market allows them to do that in ways that a government-run economy would not. When the government tries to meet philanthropic needs, it often creates more problems than it solves. Philanthropy is not immune from criticism, either, but philanthropy is not taken for granted as a “right.”

Pope Francis seems to have good intentions, but his push for “structural” reforms, coupled with his attacks on capitalism and his endorsement of climate alarmism is arguably dangerous to the market system that has brought so much prosperity and opportunity to the world. Furthermore, his suggestion that activists use the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity for structural change echoes the Democrats’ shameful attempts to capitalize on the suffering of millions.

Hmmmm…. Which the heavily marxist influenced BLM turns into a cause for riots over suggested social, racial, and economic injustices. With violent and destructive effects upon successful people, their properties, and businesses. Blacks included. All of which are of course the result of the evil Capitalism this Jesuit Pope continuously attacks.

The government and unity the Pope of Rome is calling for is not according to the holy scriptures. “We have a good one now,” Vice President Joe Biden laughed as he read aloud a leaked draft of Pope Francis’s landmark encyclical on climate change.

It was June 2015, and Biden was addressing a White House-sponsored forum on clean energy investment, his first public appearance since his son Beau’s death from cancer in May. The vice president was in good spirits. Just the day before, numerous media outlets had obtained an early copy of Pope Francis’s book-length letter on the environment. For Biden, the contents were encouraging: Francis framed climate change similarly to the way the Obama administration did — as both a moral and economic issue.

Before quoting the encyclical at length, and becoming the first Obama official to comment on it, Biden declared that the concerns of the pope fit nicely with the president’s push for more businesses to adopt clean energy alternatives. He warned that when even the pope weighs in on the issue with such urgency, it’s a clear sign that humans are approaching the “point of no return” in preventing climate change’s negative effects.

“There’s a consensus growing,” Biden said. “This doesn’t only have a moral component to it. It has a security component to it, as well as an economic component.”

Within days, the Vatican published the full version of the encyclical, titled Laudato si’. The encyclical, written five years ago this week, decries “throwaway culture” and calls modern society “one of the most irresponsible in history.” It concludes that global mistreatment of the earth is a symptom of the same destructive urge that leads people to sideline the poor, the elderly, and the unborn.

Since its publication, Laudato si’ has become a lightning rod in American public discourse on the environment: the extra-political document to which politicians appeal when framing climate change as a moral crisis.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was one of the first to realize the potential of Laudato si’. Upon its publication, the self-described nonreligious senator hailed Francis as a “miracle” and Laudato si’ as a “powerful message” that should “change the debate around the world.”

“Denying the science related to climate change is no longer acceptable,” Sanders said.

Democratic megadonor Tom Steyer also sensed opportunity. Still, in the throes of his spat with the Obama administration over the permit for the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, the billionaire climate activist began plugging the encyclical in his fundraising messaging. Steyer praised the pope, calling Laudato si’ “the most important statement in the history of confronting climate change.”

“He is somebody who has won over more people in the world than anybody,” Steyer said of Francis when the encyclical was released. “And what he has to say on this could have an absolutely dramatic impact on how this issue is viewed.”

Republican politicians weren’t so enthusiastic. The 2016 presidential campaign season was just starting up, and the media frenzy over Francis’s encyclical made Laudato si’ one of the first litmus tests (on an issue already uncomfortable for many Republicans) in the crowded primary field. Many of the Catholic candidates, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, distanced themselves from the pope.

Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, both a Catholic and a fierce critic of climate change legislation, said that the pope “should leave science to the scientists.” Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a Catholic convert, echoed Santorum, saying that he didn’t rely on the pope for his political positions.

“Religion ought to be about making us better as people and less about things that end up getting into the political realm,” Bush said.

But at that point, it was too late. For better or worse, Laudato si’ had become a document with political weight. President Barack Obama released a statement praising Francis for using his “moral authority” to call for "action on global climate change." Obama promised that, through his administration, the United States would become a “leader” in combating climate change protecting the poor.[/b] The president then outlined some of his goals: cutting carbon emissions, encouraging clean energy innovation, and building “resilience in vulnerable communities.”

Obama also said that the encyclical would likely be a guide for him when considering how to proceed at the Paris climate summit scheduled for that December. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi proved that prediction correct when, in choosing the delegation to send to France, she commented on how “thrilling” it was to have a pope whose writings provided a moral framework for the need to reduce air pollution.

When Francis visited the U.S. in mid-September, environmentalists redoubled their efforts to push the message of Laudato si’. At a rally held on Capitol Hill just days before Francis visited Washington, D.C., Sanders called for a living wage and better conditions for workers. When he finished speaking, the crowd knelt in prayer as a pastor read out passages from the encyclical, asking God to “touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth.”

When Francis arrived in the city on Sept. 23, climate activists swarmed the halls of congressional office buildings. Many handed out copies of Laudato si’, along with pamphlets backing Maryland then-Rep. Chris Van Hollen’s Healthy Climate and Family Security Act, which sought to establish a system of capping carbon emissions.

Francis delivered a speech to Congress that day and exhorted it to heed his message in Laudato si’.

“I am convinced that we can make a difference, and I have no doubt that the United States, and this Congress, have an important role to play,” he said. “Now is the time for courageous actions and strategies, aimed at implementing a culture of care and an integrated approach to combating poverty, restoring dignity to the excluded, and at the same time protecting nature.”

The pope was met with applause — but not unanimous. In anticipation of a paean to the environment, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, himself a Catholic, said he would boycott Francis’s speech.

“I don’t need to be lectured by the pope about climate change,” Gosar told CNN. “When he wants to take a political position, I will tell you: He is free and clear to be criticized like the rest of us.”

And so it went for the remainder of Francis’s time in the U.S. The pope won near-universal acclaim from climate activists and widespread criticism, at worst disdain, from climate change skeptics.

After the pope’s speech before Congress, Sanders told MSNBC that he was “deeply impressed.” He added that because of Francis’s work linking environmental issues to economic inequality, his own movement was able to “very significantly turn the tide” on economic justice, combating “the idolatry of money, the worship of the millionaires and billionaires.”

The admiration was mutual. In early 2016, after Sanders had become the surprise star of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, the Vatican invited Sanders to speak at a forum on economic injustice, occurring only several days before the New York primary. The speech was ostensibly apolitical, but Sanders was able to wedge his campaign issues in at the end.

“As Pope Francis made powerfully clear last year in Laudato si’, we have the technology and know-how to solve our problems — from poverty to climate change to health care to protection of biodiversity,” Sanders said. “We also have the vast wealth to do so, especially if the rich pay their way in fair taxes rather than hiding their funds in the world’s tax and secrecy havens.”

Sanders concluded that, to him, the message of Laudato si’, along with several other encyclicals, was a “moral” challenge, aiming to instill politics with a “vision to the common good.”

The election of Donald Trump put a damper on the late Obama-era euphoria over climate action. But by then, Laudato si’ had become stamped in the public consciousness. When Trump visited the Vatican in 2017, Francis gave him a copy of the encyclical as a gift. It was widely interpreted as “a message” to Trump, who has not included climate change as one of his administration’s top priorities.

The document also became a rallying cry for many Christian environmentalists, who protested the Trump administration’s climate positions at the 2017 People’s Climate March. And, with the introduction of the Green New Deal by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it once again became a reference point for advocates of climate change grounded in both moral and economic awareness.

And when the 2020 Democratic presidential primary started up, as early as January 2019, hopeful candidates began testing if the encyclical still carried the cache it did in 2016. Steyer began mentioning it again in his stump speeches, at one point saying that the pope “really nailed it” with the message.

Biden, though, is the one who made Laudato si’ a consistent part of his campaign. The former vice president has it listed as the document that drives him to support policies that will help people “serve as stewards of our creation and protect our planet against climate change.” Some of his goals include reducing carbon emissions to zero by 2050, cleaning up pollution in low-income communities, and creating jobs within the clean energy sector.

Biden argued, in an op-ed published in the Religion News Service, that as president, he would answer Francis’s call by caring for the “imperiled planet” with environmentally conscious policies.

“My faith teaches me that we should be a nation that not only accepts the truth of the climate crisis but leads the world in addressing it,” Biden wrote. “Pope Francis is right in Laudato si’: ‘Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last 200 years.’”

This article brings together many of the people, politicians, wealthy, and religious who compose what so many refer to today as the left. It also identifies where they really get their marching orders, and what self proclaimed and appointed authority they really are rallying behind. They are just so many papal puppets, committing fornication with BABYLON THE GREAT, in forming the final abusive and persecuting global biblical beast of prophecy. The implications and policies of which are in direct contradiction to the heavily Protestant and therefore biblical principles upon which the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of these United States were formed. I think it would be appropriate that when referring to the Pope or Pope Francis to always  include Jesuit as in  the Jesuit Pope or Jesuit Pope Francis.

That IS of key importance.

People of faith who seek to deepen their love of neighbor this Lent, I believe, ought to embrace the vision and practice Ocasio-Cortez represents.

How does a 29-year-old Latina inspire such scorn? Reviewing the long list of smears and insults, it seems like heavy doses of ageism, sexism and racism certainly make up the poisonous mix.

As Newsweek reports, Ocasio-Cortez, also known as AOC, has gained the moniker the "queen of savage comebacks." Full of joy and passion for her constituents and American democracy, AOC deflects critics with an implacable sense of humor and irony.

Stephen Colbert interviewed AOC on his late night show just days after her June 2018 primary victory. Colbert began by admitting that he didn't know her name before she won. Then he asked her how she overcame a 36-point deficit in the polls and win by 15 points, a staggering 51-point shift.

Polling is often wrong, she explains, because it tries to predict who will turn out to vote; she won because her campaign "changed who turns out." She was able to attract youth and other voters who typically do not vote in a midterm election.

At the recent Conservative Political Action Conference, former White House official Sebastian Gorka warned that AOC and the Democrats "want to rebuild your home. They want to take away your hamburgers. That is what Stalin dreamt about but never achieved." GOP chairwoman Ronna McDaniel referred to people "eating dog food to survive. That is the path that Democrats are taking us down."

So it sounds like what really irks powerful politicians, especially the GOP and some conservative Democrats, is Ocasio-Cortez's passionate advocacy for the vision and policies of the Democratic Socialists of America and the new constituency that supports it.

There's a staggering irony to the GOP redbaiting when a Republican president met with Russian President Vladimir Putin a second time without any American translator or note-taker.

Although the ridiculous hypocrisy of GOP redbaiting is laughable, the rhetoric reveals a deeper irony of our time. The GOP rhetoric claims that AOC and the Democrats are taking away "our" beef, homes and way of life. "Our" goods and way of life trumps all other social and moral concerns — pun intended.

Yet the assumption of the GOP's "our" rhetoric goes to heart of Catholic social teaching and why I became a member of Democratic Socialists of America in 1988 under the inspiration of the Catholic Democratic Socialist John Cort, when I was a graduate student at Weston Jesuit School of Theology.

Cort was a Catholic Worker with Dorothy Day during the Great Depression, helped found the Association of Catholic Trade Unionists in 1937 and worked with Michael Harrington to initiate Democratic Socialists of America. Cort has been described as "one of the great figures of twentieth century American Catholicism" by the historian of American Catholicism James Fisher.

In the epigraph to his Christian Socialism (1988), Cort quotes St. Gregory's enduring admonishment that the goods of the Earth are "common to all and brings forth nurture for all alike. Idly then do men hold themselves innocent when they monopolize for themselves the common gift of God. In not giving what they have received they work their neighbors' death; every day they destroy all the starving poor whose means of relief they store at home."

Three patristic Cappadocian bishops, Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa and Gregory of Nazianzus, all underscored the primary biblical obligation to share the goods of God's creation with all, especially those who are in any way destitute.

St. John Paul II repeatedly taught this point. It is not "our" option of charity. It's a spiritual and moral obligation to God and neighbor.

For example, in Sollicitudo Rei Socialis, on the social concerns of the church, John Paul II wrote that one of the greatest injustices in the contemporary world is "the poor distribution of the goods and services originally intended for all."

"Having," as possession of goods, the pope continued, does not contribute to human perfection or the common good unless it contributes to the maturing and enriching of human "being."

Put in other terms of the social tradition, capital is obligated to be at the service of labor, the economy at the service of people, not labor at the service of capital or the economy (see Laborem Exercens, on human work).

Pope Francis extends this primary understanding of God's gratuitous love and Catholic social teaching in "Laudato Si', on Care for Our Common Home," in how he develops an "integral ecology" where "society as a whole, and the state in particular, are obliged to defend and promote the common good."

So, when AOC tells Colbert that she is a democratic socialist because "in a modern, moral and wealthy society, no person in America should be too poor to live," and as human beings we possess rights to health care, food, education and jobs to "lead a dignified life," she is articulating a democratic socialist vision that is deeply rooted in Jewish and Christian Scripture and Catholic social teaching.

That is a vision whereby Americans may yet achieve a fully functioning democracy.

More importantly, that is a morally rich vision of how we may authentically worship God and integrate our primary obligation to love both God and neighbor. It's a vision and practice rooted in the Gospel whereby we may passionately promote "a faith that does justice" on our Lenten journey.

As is obvious from the above article, this Roman Catholic movement of nurturing, developing, and eventually politically establishing socialism in these United States according to Roman Catholic social doctrine, has been going on for quite some time now. At one time Protestants addressed and warned of the dangers of Roman Catholicism entering into nations and then subverting their politics from within unto their own vision. First they cried about such bigotry against themselves while one mass migration wave of them after another entered in, and still does to this very day. Then they systematically removed all negative history in relation to themselves from our classrooms, history books, and books of reference under the guise again of fighting against antiCatholic bigotry. Meanwhile they began introducing Roman Catholic social doctrine and politics through ever increasing numbers of Catholic based organizations, hospitals, schools, churches, and what have you unto the numberless organizations they are involved with today. This has continued until they have become the predominant faith involved in all things political, so that today they may proudly proclaim the history of their socialist agenda for this nation, and their plans for a fully established socialist United States in the near future. Which will be used of course in establishing their socialist vision for the entire globe.

Never mind of course all the failed socialism or fascism this world has already witnessed. Never mind either, that it was a productive and successful Capitalist nation which has supplied the wealth and influence they have been hijacking to their own ends. Nor the downward spiral we have been in since their numbers and policies have been introduced and implemented within. Including the never ending and increasing debt all nations fall into, when they try to meet and supply the needs of all everywhere. Continuously outspending what your tax payers are able to supply, to the tune of countless trillions now, never ends well. No fear, financial collapse will just allow for them to set up the new global system they have been calling for. Never mind the countless lives effected and great suffering such will cause during the convulsions created by the same. The Vatican fat cats, and their political and religious minions will eat just fine.

Of course, the right and Republicans also spend us into oblivion. So they wouldn't save us from future financial disaster either. Nor do they seem to ever accomplish much against these socialistic leaning designs even when they have the power to do so, though they talk a good talk when they do not. I suppose this is what happens when both sides of the isle of two parties are filled with members of a third party steering the course of their pretended division. If the third party will not be identified and called out, they will of course be the victors. So be it. The end result will be upon the shoulders of those who refused to call out, or even cooperated with the enemy from within.

As I listened to her 10-minute address on the House floor, I was struck by how often it referenced Catholic values.

Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly railed against the "dehumanizing" of others and instead called for treating people with dignity and respect. These are themes often repeated by Pope Francis, who has  specifically cautioned about gossip and urged the use of respectful language, saying "it is possible to kill someone with the tongue."

The Democratic congresswoman who represents New York's 14th District also universalized the need to treat all people with dignity and respect, noting that Yoho's behavior gave "permission to other men to do that to his daughters."

"I'm here to say that is not acceptable," she said.

Ocasio-Cortez was unimpressed by Yoho's so-called apology on the House floor the day before, in which he insisted he did not use the sexist slur (despite a reporter witnessing it) and said, "I cannot apologize for my passion or for loving my God, my family and my country."

Instead, the congresswoman gave what sounded like a pretty good description of what goes on in the Sacrament of Reconciliation: "When a decent man messes up, as we all are bound to do, he tries his best and does apologize. Not to save face, not to win a vote, he apologizes genuinely to repair and acknowledge the harm done so that we can all move on."

Perhaps such Catholic references are not surprising, since the rock-star millennial leader of the left grew up Catholic and even wrote about how her faith influences her views on public policies such as mass incarceration, for a Catholic magazine.

But there is another Catholic character in this drama: Republican Rep. Yoho, who describes himself as "pro-life" and has received an "A" rating from the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List, which notes that he "has voted consistently to protect the lives of the unborn" and "defended the Trump administration's pro-life regulatory efforts from pro-abortion attacks to prohibit their implementation." He also has received an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association.

Yoho voted for Trump's tax cuts in 2017 and this year was one of four lawmakers to vote against a bill to make lynching a federal hate crime.

Ocasio-Cortez, as a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, promotes a much more progressive platform; her first piece of legislation was the Green New Deal, which addressed economic disparity and climate change.

Yoho, 65, will retire in January, after announcing he is not seeking a fifth term. Ocasio-Cortez is 30 ("two years younger than Mr. Yoho’s youngest daughter," she pointed out in her speech).

As a young Latina, Ocasio-Cortez represents the demographic future of the Catholic Church.

But — if there is to be a future for the Catholic Church in the United States — it must also resemble Ocasio-Cortez in her passion for justice and human dignity, and in her courage and integrity, even in the face of vulgar attacks.

So, a professed socialist is the future of the Catholic Church in the United States. Seems about right with the Commie Jesuit Pope now running the Church. No hiding this agenda. Nothing to see here, move along. AOC would never of course personally insult anyone, would she?
