I have always had weapons.  Had some even before entering the military.
A shotgun is better for close combat .  Its almost impossible to miss with one.
If the "kick" bothers you too much there are rubber pads that can be put on
the end of the stock to protect your shoulder.  A sharp machete is quite effective when
     appropriate too.

Oh wrongway, poor dog, and kudos to your mom. walker, maybe I could not miss with a shotgun, but that might be the scary thing (LOL). I  am going to target shoot, maybe this weekend. I have never killed an animal, I do not think I could unless it was a grizzly bear or lion charging me. I have caught fish, but felt sorry for them and made my husband throw them back. He hunted in the NC woods, all the time before we married. Once we had a field mouse in the house. It was caught on a sticky pad. I made him put olive oil on it to free it outside, he did the mouse was free, and the cat gobbled it up. I get on his nerves alot, so wrongway, I feel for your dog story. Smile

James, I happen to agree in this case, but FYI, the "politifact" website is run by the St. Petersburg Times, a very liberal newspaper in FL.  If you read through, you can see they very plainly go easy on liberals, often excusing or explaining away lies, but trash conservatives, calling them out for much the same thing they excuse liberals for.

In Christ,

I was just offering a little more insight.  I saw the article the same way you did, I think.  I do think we can't pretend that the democrats have forgotten their uber-gun-controlling agenda just because they no longer mention it much.

Neither are the people who fabricate these lies to purposefully muddy the waters.
