Disagree... that's just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
What we really need is a Constitutional amendment.
The re-Apportionment Act needs to be reversed, and the House of Representives greatly increased in size. The status quo is that we basically have two Houses of Lords, and no Commons, and that needs fixin. This would also require them to re-write some of the rules on attendance and quorum. It should be possible for all the Reps to attend remotely, and not live in D.C., which is a hotbed of corruption and lobbying.
So, in part, what you want to do is add more deck chairs, some on deck and some below deck somewhere?
Actually I don't disagree totally with some of what you have recommended, but the problem goes a much, much deeper than that. We have had for the last two or three generations our youth being taught that capitalism is no good and the solution to the nation's problems is socialism/progressivism/communism. And that is but a small part of the disgusting indoctrination to the younger ones. To be honest, I am very pessimistic about the nation's future. I don't really see any likely solution to the problems facing the country.
I am receiving a lot of requests, mostly from Republicans, to donate to their efforts. My response to all of them has been that I donated quite a bit for the 2016 elections and we got a Republican House, Senate and President. Many of the problems that we are now facing, such as the border, the debt, the middle east could have been addressed and if not solved, certainly greatly improved. It was not. Why should I think it would be different this time? I don't think I should think it would be any different this time. Perhaps things might slow up a bit, but no real change is likely to happen. I will reserve my giving and support to more needful and useful endeavors.
