Quote from Jaime: Not voting at all is just lazy and disrespectful for those that have fought and defended our rights here. Ironically, I would much rather see someone honor the right to vote and cast a vote for Obama than to see someone willingly denigrate and dishonor the hard fought right to vote.
, well, as one who served in the Military for many years, I can assure you that there is no "disrespect," "degeniration," or "dishonor" in NOT voting for someone who one believes to be not worthy of the office they are running for.
Now, that is certainly a really, really good attempt to "guilt trip" and "smear the character" of those who ACTUALLY BELIEVE that the person they vote for SHOULD be qualified for the office, but it ain't SQUAT to me................
Trying to play the "patriotic" hand with me just won't cut it............'cause that dog won't hunt.
As well, I have often stated that while I will not vote for any of the current repubs desiring the presidency, I will certainly vote in the State, County elections, and the Congressional elections.
The comment you made is one often used by the repubs and they don't even realize what they are speaking of. Always quick to question the patriotism of those who disagree with them by saying they "dishonor" our veterens..............who fought, bled and died to protect our right to vote.
Those same veterens fought, bled and died to protect the right of any/all Americans to CHOOSE who they would vote for, and if none were qualified, their right to protest by not voting in that particular election. I know this, because I am one of them.
