I ask those followers of Jesus Christ who frequent this board to help calm the waters of this nations political discourse now so troubled by anger and fear, all over some worldly political contentions.
I earnestly pray for all of our churches today that political tensions, driven by lusts for power, or fear of losing power, will not divide the body. That we will all obey scripture and, "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
Since I have come to this land I see professed believers exhibiting anger, and speaking angry words, spreading slander and bearing false witness, and even causing division within the Body of Christ for the sake of some worldly fears and desires, rather than seeking unity for the sake of the Gospel.
"Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. In your anger do not sin"
Can we be Salt & Light in this nation, not laying in the gutter of political fighting, but by counseling each other to abide in the Spirit, encouraging one another, edifying the body, and acting to calm the hatred and calls to violence we hear in crowds where Christians sit silently.
These things do not glorify our Lord and Saviour.
Our God is sovereign over all this turmoil, we should never be afraid of a man, and non-believers should see that we share an irrational (to their eyes) JOY, and that we love one another.
I pray that the worlds of our mouths and mediations of our hearts are pleasing to the Lord.
Praise Be To Him, The Lord God Almighty
