The government insurance. Also, the cost for the lowest insurance is 15,000 in 2016. Like that?

"According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the Speaker’s bill would cost $15,000 in 2016."

Yep. Democrats should join us in outrage, but they're more concerned with damage control to make sure their guys keep winning.

Aren't there always criminal penalties for those who don't pay their taxes?

Why is this new to you?

New? Oh no, it isn't new. I have become accustomed to people taking money from me. And looks like they are going to take a little more now.

As far as the criminal penalties... Well, I just think it isn't right for the federal government to force me to "buy" anything. And if I was uninsured and didn't want insurance, that's my business. But under the taxocrats plan, they want to fine me and incarcerate me. That's just swell...

This country is slowly going the way of the dodo bird...

Doesn't the government force you to buy roads?  Doesn't the government force you to buy military protection?  Education?  Agriculture subsidies?  Scientific research?

I understand that you may not like participating in those things, but you still expect to fund them, right?

Yes, I pay for all those things. But, I use them. It is for the good of the country for us to have highways, a military, etc...

But there is something fundamentally wrong with changing the healthcare for 85% of the country just for the sake of the 15%. Then on top of that, they want to tax me to pay for it.

This healthcare system will not help everybody. But money is being taken from one American and directly given to another. So to speak. That is the difference. For the most of us, we will end up losing something good. Yea, we may have the "public" option to fall back on... But that is my fear. I do not want the government making decision concerning my healthcare. There are to many flaws in there system. Insuring the uninsurable is one. And I can guarantee you one thing, there are a lot of people who are very unhealthy, due to their own fault, that will put a heavy burden on this system.

But in the end, what I say can't change it. People always want something for nothing. Sounds good to have what someone else has got. Even though those other people worked very hard for what they have. Getting something for nothing never works. Nothing is free. And you also get what you pay for.

Pelosi said only 96 percent will be covered. Would that be, "Not Quite Universal Healthcare"?

KMV,

If I don't join the military, I won't go to jail.  If I don't use the roads, I won't go to jail.  If I don't send my kids to school, I won't go to jail.

If I don't get health insurance, I will be sent to jail.

THAT is the difference.  Instead of treating us like idiots, please do some research.

OK KMV, next time I go to traffic court ( hopefully not again soon), but anyway as they bring the county jail, folks in their leg chains, and orange jump suits to the front of the court ( we have to watch this in my town, before we plead quilty to a traffic violation) I am sure it will thrill you, if I see poor black, Indian, white, folk get thirty more days or the payment of their insurance premium. It would seem the right wing dings care more about the poor than the left ding-a-lings. I hope you are never poor, and cannot pay for your policy, if it happens think of your post, defending this unjust, socialist president, and his band of looney lefties, who put you in  that county jail. Storm Trooper when did it become a crime to be poor? Humm?

No.  If you don't pay your taxes, you'll go to jail.

That doesn't seem that complicated.  Why is it confusing you?

How does anything you said above respond in any way whatsoever to anything that I said?

Claiming that I'd be thrilled to see poor people go to jail really goes too far, doesn't it?  If you believe that, then you're pretty dim.  If you don't actually believe that, but said it anyway, that's dishonest.

Here's my post.  Would you consider a response that is in some way connected to what I actually said?

It is not complicated, you are ignoring the facts that counter your position.

Everybody knows if you do not pay taxes you go to Jail....that's how Al Capone met his end.

There are provisions for fines and jail time if you fail to get life insurance.

Once again, please do some research instead of treating us like idiots.

No, there aren't provisions that if you don't get insurance you'll be fined or jailed.  There are provisions that if you don't get insurance, you'll be taxed to pay for your burden on the rest of us.  If you don't pay your taxes, you'll be fined or jailed.   That is entirely different, but you seem to be confused.

Don't we have lots of taxes that people have to pay, whether or not they care for the product being funded?  Aren't you taxed to pay for roads whether or not you drive them?  Aren't you taxed to pay the military, whether or not you want to go to war?  Aren't you taxed to pay for USDA inspectors even if you're a vegetarian?

Isn't it always the case that those who don't pay their taxes are liable for criminal prosecution?

You aren't fined for not using the roads; you are fined if you don't pay the tax that funds the roads.

I don't understand what is surprising about that?

Your comparisons are way off.

You even admitted, I do not get fined if I do not use the roads.  Same applies to the military, schools, etc.  If I do not use or join, I am not going to be fined or sent to jail.

If I do not get health insurance, I will.

The government is forcing me to buy something and threatening me if I do not.  That is my problem with the legislation.

They do not force me to use the roads...they do not force me to join the military...they do not force me to send my kids to school.

They are going to force to buy something that they are providing the cheapest.  That is what is wrong.  If I choose not to buy it I get penalized.  That is what is wrong.

KMV, you are so mixed up you do not even know where you stand. It is what ever your great leader says, and your opinion changes as with the wind. Yes, poor folk will go to jail, heck maybe some middle class who cannot afford to pay. How with everyone out of work, is the whole socialist program going to be financed?
