I voted for Lincoln over McClellan in '64.

I have always been a Republican. I never realized it until I grew up, but my father and grandfather were Democrats. They, like so many others in the 30's, were taken in by Rosevelt. I didn't vote until I voted for Barry Goldwater, whom Johnson crushed by calling him a "war monger," and look what a war monger Johnson turned out to be.

I believe in less government control and lower taxes. And I believe in better morals and honesty that the Clintons brought to the White House.

Just remember the Republicah candidates; those are the ones I voted for.

1996-Bob Dole-anyone would have been better than Clinton. I also like Bob's wife. I wish she had been running.
2000-Al Gore-George W. is an idiot. As for the abortion thing, the moment the republicans stop flapping their mouths and start actually doing something perhaps I'll vote for them. However, as Christians, we should stop thinking we can force people to act like Christians through legislation. Why don't we try providing help to women who are in a situation in which they feel that this is their only choice?

Hey everyone, it's me again here to liven  up the politics section again.  What I would like to know is who did you vote for in the past presidential elections we have had.  Since a lot of us use pseudonyms when we post or just a first name please share with us.  You young 'uns can share who you  voted for at your classroom/school mock election if you want to.  Just please share why you voted for that particular candidate and whether or not you regret having done so.

I will list the last several elections we have had and the respective candidates to jostle everyones memory:

1928   Herbert Hoover
         Al Smith

1932   Herbert Hoover
         Franklin Roosevelt

1936   Franklin Roosevelt
         Alf Landon

1940  Franklin Roosevelt
         Wendell Wilkie

1944  Franklin Roosevelt
        Thomas Dewey

1948  Harry Truman
        Thomas Dewey
        Strom Thurmond
        Henry Wallace

1952  Dwight Eisenhower
        Adlai Stevenson

1956  Dwight Eisenhower
        Adlai Stevenson

1960  John Kennedy
         Richard Nixon

1964  L.B. Johnson
        Barry Goldwater

1968  Hubert Humphrey
        Richard Nixon
        George Corley Wallace

1972  George McGovern
        Richard Nixon
        John Schmitz

1976  Gerald Ford
        Jimmy Carter

1980  Jimmy Carter
         Ronald Reagan
         John Anderson

1984  Ronald Reagan
        Walter Mondale

1988  George Bush
         Michael Dukakis

1992   George Bush
          Bill Clinton
          Ross Perot

1996   Bob Dole
         Bill Clinton
         Ross Perot

2000  Al Gore
        George Bush
        Ralph Nader

Now here is my record:

1980  Jimmy Carter--I thought he was a good man

1984  Ronald Reagan--Geraldine's husband was said to
                              have mob ties.

1988  George Bush--Well there just wasn't much of a choice.

1992  Bush--Clinton could not be trusted I thought

1996  Clinton- The economy seemed to be pretty good.

2000  Gore--Do not trust G.W.

My first election that I was eligible to vote in was 1984.  I voted for Reagan mainly because my parents were.

Then I started voting on my own and truly listening to candidates.

1988- Bush, republican and I also know one of Dan Quayles sisters.
1992- Bush, republican and I always thought Clinton was not to be trusted
1996- Bob Dole, republican and I knew Clinton was not to be trusted,  I also do not care for Hillary
2000- Bush, republican and I liked his politics.

I guess I have proven I am a true-blue republican.  I would really have to feel like a Rep.-candidate was an idiot to vote democratic.
I just have a hard time as a christian voting for anyone who stands for abortion rights.  But it is more than that, there are many issues I do not agree with the democrats on.

I voted for G.W.  I think and still think that Al Gore is a bigger snake than Slick Willie.  I am not a registered anything and I will not vote straight party just cause its easier.

I have a hard time voting for those who are pro-choice.  I think you should examine the beliefs of the candidate, rather than the party.

1988 - Bush
1992 - Bush
1996 - Dole
2000 - Bush

Every Presidential candidate I have voted for is Republican.  However, I am a registered independent.  I vote 'em the way I sees 'em.  (I have voted for a couple of democrats in lower office races)
