Ok, I know there has been debate back and forth, but on my 35 hour trek between Japan and the U.S. I came across this epiphany:

My wife bought her own ticket back.  It cost more money, but she went straight from point A to point B.  From departure to destination.  The time it took was simply the length of her flight.

The government bought my ticket back.  It cost less money, but it was a very roundabout route point A to X to Y to C to  D to B.  Seriously I had four layovers.  I spent just as much time waiting for planes as I did riding them.

So yes, the government got me home...and it was cheaper...but it took twice as long and was five times a complicate when the government "took care of things" then it was when we simply did it ourselves.

In Christ,

Another example.  The swine flu will have come and gone.  Then we will have enough vaccine to limit the spread.  And the government will claim victory.

Why government shouldn't run health care?

Look at these fine examples that speak for themselves.

Social Security
Medicare
Medicade
Welfare

What do all these have in common? They are all broke. They all need massive amounts of money to continue. And they grow each and every year.

They are all run by the government.

Why, oh why, would any rational human being think the government could run our health care is beyond me.

I spent 30 years in the military so I would have good healthcare for free when I was old and paid double payments on my house so I would not have a house payment when I was old.  Now I am old and find out I have to pay for someone Else's house and health insurance. Watching the show and eating popcorn

Do not forget about their vehicles as well. The ole Cash for Clunkers.

A kick in the gut isn't it?

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone, who works for a living, would want this.

It is absurd.

What ever happened to people working and paying for their own way? We can't, as a nation, bring everybody up to the same level. The only thing that happens is the people who are the "uppers" [middle class in this case], have less disposable income. When you take from one to give to the other, one will always have less.

Welfare cases. "Hey more free Money"

The rest of them are either really stupid, or really evil.  Liberalism is a mental disease.

How are they irrelevant?

And by the way, I am not angry. I simply posted facts.

I think it is very relevant to look at the history of our governments ability to "run" these types of programs. They have failed in every one of them. Every one of the programs I mentioned are broke. And they are all supported with tax payer dollars. They have not "liberated" anyone. They have only grown to monstrous sizes, and need MORE money.

People like you can keep your head in the sand, but unless the things mentioned above are corrected somehow, there will be no SS, medicare, medicade, etc... to provide for those who need it the most. And contrary to the liberal Lefts opinion, eventually, people will grow tired of them stealing their money.

It has been said before. You may have heard of it. "Taxation without representation." It will not go on forever. I can guarantee that.

How can a story be irrlevant? Did you even think about that remark? If I ORIGINATE a thought.....it cant be irrelevant, its not SUPPOSED to be relevant, except in and of itself.

II Thessalonians 3

10 For evenwhen we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, workingnot at all, but are busy bodies.
12. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Remember the 4500 dollar cash for clunker deal? Sweet deal right? It cost the American Tax payer 24,000 dollars PER CAR that was purchased.

Now that is bang for your buck isn't it.

Where did all this extra money go? Read and you shall see.

Still believe what they tell you as far as the cost?

I never have.

I was neither angry nor crotchety...tired?  Absolutely...that was a lot of travelling.

Now, imagine health care being run like that.  You have no issues?

Personally I think I'd have a very hard time watching others die while I eat steak.  Just doesn't seem charitable to me.
