Please pray for my 1 year old daughter Angelina ("Li Li", pronounced "Lee Lee"), and I. We are both battling a bad cold, and I fear that mine (and maybe hers) may be worse than just a cold... Also, I had to let my health insurance lapse, recently, due to my terrible financial situation. Please pray to the Great Physician for her, and for me...

Thanks everyone. I have been feeling pretty bad today, but hoped I was on the mend until just a little bit ago. The baby seems to be doing better than me today, but she still has quite a bit of healing to do, as well... May the Lord hear your prayers, and mine...

James, How are things going?  Generally a cold or virus will run it's course in 7-10 days.  If you or the little one have been sick longer than that, or have high fevers, or increased respiratory distress you need to seek medical attention.  Drink plenty of fluids.  Chicken soup is good.  Let us know how you've been doing.  Lot's of people without health insurance go to the ER because hospitals generally will work with you financially more than a doctor's office.

Several years ago I went for a year without health insurance. I had 3 part time jobs at the time and my daughter was 3 years old.  It was especially scary, since my daughter had been in the hospital with pneumonia the year before.

There is a government program to help cover the medical costs of children from families without medical insurance.  Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Check it out and see if you qualify in your state.
