Lots and lots of things going on here, but right now I'm excited because I got selected for an online interview for an unpaid website writing position!

So I'm praying for the interview and, if hired, I'm also praying that (although definitely secular material right now) that God will be glorified properly in my work--in this and everything else of course!  Smile

At any rate, every minute for God. I have plans about where it could all go from here short and long run.

Sounds wonderful.

May God bless you in it in Jesus' name.

I actually got the position.  Disco

It's a little difficult thing to do for free on top of everything else, but again, some people think that it would be a good way to start if I wanted to write professionally. I respect this team of writers, which is higher than much of the professional press lately.

Lots of big decisions coming up. A symphony audition is coming up too (music), and a Christian businesswoman says she wants to hire me (this for pay) to transcribe and arrange some music for her which will be a huge project.

And I'm looking at being offered free education from the government. It's all in high-gear now.  Smile Work to do. I also have thoughts about Christian fellowships out here which I've been sort of dropping in on . . .  Smile Some potential out here.

Wow, you got me interested, CBL. I finished a novel when I was 17 and have been trying to rewrite it for years.

I wanna ask ya questions now . . .

I guess my biggest question CBL is I'm wondering what you could tell me about the writer's "ladder" I suppose. I mean if I had a goal I'd like to be part of some Christian publication, maybe. So what kinds of things should I expect to be between here and someplace like that? (what do  need for "experience" and whatnot) How to get into freelance writing or web design? I expect to be working on some computer/web-design skills soon for this sort of thing.

Also, as I mentioned, I have a "book proposal" issue too. Dunno how that works. I just figured people submit manuscripts or parts of ones (with outlines, maybe) with a cover letter and see who bites.

Whatever you can tell me would be great.  Smile Looking for info to getting farther into all of this.  Smile

Well, doing what you are doing is good.  Starting to get some publications to publish your writings, even if it is for free.  That way, when you actually do submit a book proposal or an article, or whatever, if you have some references, I imagine it is helpful.  Regarding book proposals...different publishers want different things so you need to tailor your proposal to each publisher.  You can get that info. on their websites.  They have "writer's guidelines"

This year, I bought the "Christian's Writer's Guide" by Sally Stuart and it is just a wealth of info.  It lists many magazine publishers and book publishers, what they are especially interested in, their websites and on and on.  There are also a couple of organizations where, if you pay a small fee, you can submit your proposal and numerous publishers use them as a screening agent.

For a number of years I posted on a fun writer's website...http://www.faithwriters.com...I still occasionally will post my work there.  When I was more active there I had several publishers ask me to submit my work and possibly write for them.  One, I could kick myself that I never responded...it would have been a wonderful opportunity but the timing was not right for me...

So, there are a few things for you  Smile
