Prayer for Jeff - Update 1/19/12
« on: Tue Jan 03, 2012 - 12:27:24 »
My friend Donna requested prayer for her husband Jeff – they just found out he has a brain tumor and will be having surgery tomorrow or Thursday. She has been to our church a few times and they love the Lord. She wanted to have many pray for them as she knows that the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much!

They are good friends of mine with two young children.

Thank you!

Love in Christ,

Chrisette

Dear Father, please be with Jeff as he undergoes surgery, and restore him to his family whole and healed by Your touch. Thank You Father in Jesus' name. Amen.

Father thank you that our lives are totally in Your hands. Each day that we would live has been written before we were even born. Lord my heart goes out to these people so much. Please touch this man in a mighty way, You are the great physician and are able to heal all of our diseases. Father touch him in the name of Jesus! Guide the Surgeon's hands, be with him and his wife. I pray that you would send your angels to minister to them and comfort them. Let them know peace amidst a very unpeaceful situation.
In the powerful name of Jesus I pray this Amen!

Hi everyone-

It's been a few days, so I wanted to update you on Jeff's progress. His
surgeons, ICU staff, and physical therapists continue to be amazed at his rapid
improvement 4 days out of surgery. He continues to make huge gains re: his
left side weakness. He is now shaving with his electric razor and brushing
his teeth with his left hand. This is a big deal, as three days ago he could
barely move his fingers, lift his arm or make a fist. Jeff is now free of
his IVs and catheter and they are going to take the drain out of his brain
tomorrow (Monday) if his CT scan looks good. He was able to stand and walk a
bit in the room with the aid of a walker today. He spent a good portion of the
day sitting in the chair...again, another big home run as he couldn't lift
his left leg after surgery or flex his left foot. Tomorrow will be a big day
for him as PT plans to get him up and walking down the hall. He was able to
call and order room service on his own and talk on the phone yesterday and
today and is starting to be conversational rather than just answer questions
when prompted. He was a great commentator today as we watched the Broncos
beat the Steelers! God has certainly had a hand in his recovery as the
surgeons stated they haven't seen anything like this before so quickly after such
a serious surgery. I have saved everyone's texts and e-mails and he's hoping
to spend a little time tomorrow looking at some of them on the IPAD. These
have been so encouraging to us all!

We know that the prayers from all of you have certainly aided in his
healing and speedy recovery. With that said, we ask that you pray that the tumor
is benign. We expect the biopsy results tomorrow or Tuesday.

He is scheduled to be moved from ICU to the Intermediate Care Neuro Unit
tomorrow.

I will try to update everyone every 3 days or so and hopefully we'll soon
have him back home with us. That will be the best day of all!

Thanks so much again for your love, prayers and support..we are so grateful
for it all-

Donna, Jeff, Cassie and Alex

It is great to have him home and he continues to blow us all out of the water with his progress. We got the preliminary pathology report the unfortunately, his tumor was not benign. They are now doing genetic testing to determine the optimum way to do further treatments. At this point, the jury is still out as to what stage it is in. Dr. Lamond said it is definitely not stage one and definitely not stage four.

I am very peaceful with things right now. I truly believe that God is healing Jeff and is going to give (actually already has!!!!) him and me an amazing testimony to attest to the powerful, all knowing healing powers of our Almighty God. Know that we so feel the prayers. We feel so loved, supported and most definitely prayed for. Our sermon last week was about praying very specifically... and that, I am doing.

Thanks so much for your continued prayers and to so much that many have done! We ask that you continue to pray for Jeff's recovery and that the tumor will be completely eradicated.
