Brothers and sisters in Christ. I sincerely ask that everyone try to tone down the rhetoric being exchanged between Protestants (although I don't like that term much.......but, ok) and our Brothers and Sisters who are Catholic. Seriously, it is not a good example of what we should be doing on a Christian Forum. I know everyone HAS THE RIGHT TO DO SO, I'm just asking if we can forego the right to do so and replace it with some semblance of Christian civility.

I understand all the differences between the two ideologies, but, even so, these differences do not justify the sort of rhetoric that takes place from time to time. Given that this day I have been attacked by two people on the Catholic forum when my only intent was to extend the hand of Christian fellowship, I believe the hatfilled rhetoric seems to be an uncontrolable flood both ways. I am severely disapointed by the comments directed towards me on the Catholic forum and while I am in no way angry, I am very sad that such attitudes should be displayed on a Christian forum. I also understand that they believe/feel that they have been subjected to the same kind of rhetoric and this (from some of the comments I've read) is sadly true as well.

I don't know why such disrespectful speech is necessary, I truly don't. However, when it reaches a point that reasonable adults cannot freely exchange beliefs, comments, ideas without engaging in such rhetoric, then I have to wonder about the state of Christianity.................this type of rhetoric does not serve God, nor does it reflect in a positive way on those who engage in it or on their particular Church.

YES, THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY, and I may well have people lining up on both sides to take shots at me for suggesting that we should strive to find ways to engage in respectful Christian fellowship, and, if so, then that will have to be. We don't have to justify such rhetoric with "he started it, no - he started it." We can JUST STOP IT! PLEASE? Is it possible to exhibit Christian love and fellowship towards one another in spite of theological ideology?

Please, at least consider this request. Maybe even a short "cease-fire" of a few days?

I don't think "attacked" is the appropriate term to use.

Catching me at my worst is probably the worst altercation you will have in the Catholic Forum. I don't really remember debating you there.

What "attack" are you referring to?

I believe the word "attack" was appropriate. It is obviously what happened in the Infant Baptism thread that ended up being LOCKED due to the comments that were being made by some.

As well, I never mentioned you...........don't know why you would think I did.............

I am really puzzled why people can't simply exchange information/ideas without resorting to personal attacks, rude behavior and unchristian remarks. I supose it's a case of "he started it, no, he started it..........."

Seems to me that if we came together to pray together, this would be a very different world indeed. But that's just me I supose.........

I don't read posts in the Catholic forum, so I have no idea who did what to whom regarding the Infant Baptism thread. But I was drawn to read and post on the " I Do Not Lie" thread yesterday.

There is division among Christians. That I understand. Each one of us is unique; personalities and life experiences. Each one of us understands and embraces the gospel differently. That should be acceptable. There is a reason for it. Yes, it's VERY good to share insights. So many truths are revealed in this fashion. But it is wrong to seek to drive away or dominate. Each one of us unique in God's plan. Each one of us has a purpose and an integrity that others cannot possibly measure. Only God knows that measure, because it is God who has given it.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Hey Sister, I have never regurlarly visited their forum either. Figure it was for them and just didn't go there much. However, Infant Baptism seemed to be a "safe" subject..................boy, was I wrong...........sigh.............

I think I'll stay away, wouldn't want to offend people by offering my views on things...............

It's hard sometimes. I've gained so much from these forums, but yes.. some of the responses I have received here..thankfully thus far those have all been in the past and before my mmm sabbatical.. have simply left me dazed and confused.
I can only pray on both our behalf's that God grant us comfort, patience and wisdom to see beyond the hurt and into the presence of Christ that lives in all our brothers and sisters.

I entirely agree and try my best to comply with what you suggest. However I have been called a liar many times by one of your moderators. So I suggest you tell your moderators to be a good example of what you are explaining. The moderator was lighthammer. Calling me a liar seems to be his most effective argument.
I never return the same kind of language he dishes out to me.
So I would like to express to the bosses of this forum to PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH OR DO NOT PREACH AT ALL.

Yeah, I don't call people names, yet a Catholic mod called me retarded and a dolt, and the posts were never deleted or amended, which makes one believe that the staff agrees. I agree with your call for mods to be the example they want to set here.
