The slow boiling of the frogs by the ACU board of directors has always intended to go "neutral" about all of the "issues" on their way to being another campus of the NACC.

They have honored men like Max Lucado and Rick Atchley who have been ring leaders in saying "we will never be instrumental" in our plenary sessions to then doing it and then explaining their betrayal with "that was then but this is now."

On my best days it is clear that people are terminally ignorant or terminally evil by picking statements out of a lexicon and then saying that they had visions or the spirit told them to add instruments.  Is it possible that an institute like ACU can be totally ignorant that God abandoned Israel BECAUSE of instrumental idolatry; that the naitonal temple system was identical to that which the levites (cursed by their father) had practiced in Egypt?

People have a right to teach what they like but it is postmodernisn "it isn't lying if we have a higher motive" deliberately sowing discord and stealing the inheritance they have fleeced from old widows in order to build what they now sell at the highest bidder.

http://www.seektheoldpaths.com/pdf/stop/stop904.pdf

Yes, they are conservative but betrayal is betrayal and ignorance is ignorance and this writers experience with a recent grad "trained by people exercising PROPHETIC roles to CHANNEL and FACILITATE" the needed changes to the "old conservative churches."

Shame, Shame, Shame but long predicted: never give a dime to in institute because Satan will come.

Not only is this "letter" five years old, but this is what they claim are problems:
Quote
There are numerous examples of departures from the founders’ charter and from the precept and example of the New Testament: ACU has changed to allow dancing and a recognized dance club. A Bible professor was shown in the Abilene Reporter News drinking wine. Instrumental music in worship has been made a non-fellowship issue by many faculty members. Students who are members of denominations have been allowed to organize religious activities on campus. The use of ACU facilities for denominational activities has been authorized by the administration. There has been the encouragement in chapel that students attend denominational worship activities. There has been the advocating and encouragement of women to take on roles in worship and ministry of the church not permitted by Scripture.

It is interesting to me that Blit would care what ACU does nor doesn't do, or what they encourage in worship services, given his apparent views on institutional churches that do anything other than read text to one another. Does it really matter what roles women have if they're doing anything other than reading (or, I suppose) listening to text being read?

I'm thinking once they're off the reservation, it doesn't matter what they do.

You are absolutely correct!  If you attend a voodoo (source of churchy music) service and get all riled up it shouldn't matter too much to me.

I get riled up when the Vapid Clouds on the Peak of Scholarly Craftiness make a profession out of lying about every Bible text which mentions an instrument gleaned out of their hardcopy lexicon, and then deliberately sow discord all around the world saying that they had a VISION or heard the AUDIBLE VOICE of God or the Holy Spirit "led the leaders" into deciding to go instrumental.

For the most part theologians speak and write for theologions (that's why it makes no sense) and the few idle fellows who force widows to pay their way for meeting to "look for the next job."

However, Jesus spoke about fooling the foolish with parables from the foundation of the world. Peter warned that Paul wrote in the same way, and Paul said in effect "fools love to be fooled."

If they would all just evaporate then there would be no discord among we people not pretending to be Alpha Billy Goat protecting turf.

I contend that the PROOF TEXTS they use to NOW say that GOD COMMANDS INSTRUMENTAL and you disobey if you DO NOT is the latest ANTI-non-instrumental psychological violence.

I propose that NOT ONE OF THEM know or have ever slowed down in Acts 7 (except to get verse3z for a sermon) to know what means GOD TURNED THEM OVER TO WORSHIP THE STARRY HOST.  Both Stephen and Joel and lots of others NAME NAMES and all of them are for people who worship the CREATURE (preacher-creature, singer-creature) as a way to NOT worship the CREATOR. That's about what Jesus said of the Scribes and Pharisees as hypocrites NAMING NAMES of performance speaker, singer or instrument player.

I propose to you that you don't know a SINGLE PREACHER on either "side of the keyboard" who has a clue to the Mount Sinai even.   The concept of CORRUPTING THE WORD is defined as "selling learning at retail" or "adultery."

Why is it that a bright person like you doesn't have a burden to note the ETERNAL patternism that the role of religionists is to SHUT THE MOUTH of God as proven by ALL songs and MOST sermons.  You know music from mystery means to "shut the mouth of the victim."  Ritualistic worship has always been known as SACRED VIOLENCE.  Well, the Jews shut the mouth of Jesus on the cross: prophecy and the mocking word means that the WARRIOR musicians mocked Him right up to the foot of the old rugged cross.

I believe that Jesus spent his lost years at Qumran so that we have the Word in EARTHEN VESSELS.

WITHOUT A DOUBT: you don't know of any group which does not work its wicked little heart out to silence Jesus in sermons (elders commanded to teach that which has been taught) and even if you could HALLUCINATE an external singing (sorcery) ACT (legal) Romans 15 and the other NOT musical passages absolutely demand that you use ONE MIND and ONE MOUTH to speak THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN.

After all a DISCIPLE of the Physics professor is called a STUDENT of Physics and hardly ever would the most warped mind (without external help) come up with the notion that the assembly for DISCIPLES is called a WORSHIP SERVICE.

The remnant theology would be meaningless and not historical if even a LARGE group got it right.

Since Jesus fired the Doctors of the Law (Theologians) for taking away the key to knowledge, why else woudl a huge institute grow like a fungus and then EAT UP its host by lying about every text they open verse 3z at a time.

ACU is looking for a new President: anyone interested.

They still claim kin to the Church of Christ.

Ken, I have sent a letter to Randy Lowry encouraging him to seek the position.  I know that you think that would be a perfect fit for him.

Before anybody jumps on me, Randy is a personal friend and I think he would make a good President for ACU.

Randy, I think would be good. I like the direction in Lipscomb.

However, his being president of ACU isn't going to please Blit.
